The end of an era for Porsche’s air-cooled 911 Turbo, the 993 generation was the first to adopt a twin-turbocharged engine paired with an all-wheel drive system. This 1997 example comes finished Arena Red Metallic over Cashmere Beige leather upholstery. Acquired by the seller in 2011, it is now being offered for auction out of Maryland with approximately 42k miles on the odometer.
Compared to a 993 Carrera, the Turbo model presents widened sills and rear bodywork as well as a body-colored rear spoiler and redesigned bumpers with three front air inlets. This example is finished in the 993 Turbo's debut color of Arena Red Metallic and rides on factory 18” Technology hollow-spoke wheels with Continental ExtremeContact Sport tires from 2019. The seller notes slight signs of road wear on the front bumper, and the vehicle has been ceramic coated. Additional images are provided in the gallery along with a CARFAX report.
The cabin presents Black and Cashmere Beige partial leather upholstery. Equipment includes driver’s seat lumbar support, cruise control, a power sunroof, a Becker-Porsche CDR-210 stereo, and a trunk-mounted Alpine CD changer. The seller notes minor leather creasing.
The air-cooled twin-turbocharged 3.6-liter flat-six engine sends up to 408 HP and 398 lb.-ft of torque to all four wheels through a 6-speed manual transmission. Stopping power is derived from fixed 4-piston aluminum “Big Red” Brembo brake calipers paired with cross-drilled rotors front and rear. The dynamic Active Brake Differential (ABD) and a limited-slip differential are also equipped as standard. The seller notes an engine-out tune up has been performed, and the check valves were recently replaced.
This sale will include a clean title.
The seller would like you to know: “Maintenance is up-to-date and the paint has been professionally cleaned and ceramic coated. This car is a joy to drive and you won't be disappointed”

What exactly was done in an engine out tune ?
Please
What an incredible car. I saw this 993 turbo in person and know the owner. True enthusiast and collector who has listed this car very honestly. Very few examples left in this good of original condition while having been carefully watched over as this one has. In person, this car seems to feel and look like a sub-15k mile example.
Good luck,
Stathios

I have a 1996 993 Turbo with less than 23K miles. No alterations have been made to it. I used to store it on a trickle charger with the battery disconnected. I now am averse to disconnecting the battery as the OBD is particularly stubborn in resetting itself no matter how much I drive the car and no matter how many times I follow the resetting instructions on it found on the internet. It’s been operating for about a year now telling me there is a problem with the airbags for several minutes after starting and running the car. I have a 50K mile 1997 993 4S as well which is very fussy in resetting its OBD. A known 993 issue, so I understand this car failing emissions just for its obstinate OBD without a real mechanical issue.
@Vince993s That is about the gist of it! My cars destiny in the hands of some VEIP employee.
@Epicmc, the paint is original. It was professionally cleaned, detailed, and ceramic coated at Yanks Detailing, October 2021. I used to think I was pretty good at detailing until going there! Thanks
My experience with the 993 emissions has often been attributed to a dead battery or extended periods of non-use. Check Rennlist for the procedure to reset the OBD 2. Involves driving at various speeds for prescribe times etc. once achieved it will likely pass emissions. Others may recall more details but I had to go through this process several times to pass in Maryland.

Is the paint original, any paint corrections or body work? Thank you
@RickMountain, Good bite! The wipers are in my garage and yes that is a valentine cord. Good eye! And if the price is right, the Valentine One radar detector goes with the car.
Hello everyone, thanks for looking at my auction. I hope to have a video tomorrow of a cold start and driving, also up on a lift.
@secretcollector, I will try to get paint readings
@Jbwz65, I will get you the info you request. I don't have the window sticker. I will get you a photo of keys and manual.
@Russell41, VEIP in Maryland could never get their computer to read all systems and always asked me if I drove the car or was the
battery disconnected and they told me to drive it everyday for 7-10 and come back.
There are no codes
Just two small corrections needed here: 1. The cabin presents Black and Cashmere Beige full (not partial) leather upholstery. All 993 Turbos came with full leather from the factory.
2. The car rides on factory 18" Technology wheels, but of the full-spoke variety. The wheels are definitely not hollow-spoke and are therefore not those that came from the factory. The valve stem recesses are not shaped as in hollow-spoke wheels.
Ok, I’ll bite:
1. where are the front windshield wipers??
2. Is the dashboard cord a Valentine One power connection?
3. What’s up w/ the failed emissions?

I had a wallpaper of this same color on my computer for many years. This is a dream car of mine. Seller, why does the car keep on failing emissions testing?
@seller Can you please confirm what service history/records will come with the car and upload photos of them? What was done with the "engine out" tune up and please upload those documents as well. What is the date code on the tires? Do you have the window sticker? Please upload photos of both keys and any manuals that come with the car.
