Up for auction is this nicely appointed 1997 Porsche 993 Carrera coupe presented in Ocean Blue Metallic over a two-tone black and Cashmere Beige partial leather interior. Having been under the diligent care of its original private owner for over 20 years, this nicely presented 1997 example features the desirable Motor Sound Package as well as dealer installed front and rear spoilers. Accompanied by maintenance records and its original window sticker, this 993 has undergone over $16k in recent service and is now being offered for auction showing approximately 81k miles on the odometer.
Said to have always been garaged and properly maintained, the Ocean Blue Metallic finish is shown to be in excellent condition with minor wear including some rock chips on the front end. Carfax indicates that the rear bumper was replaced following a minor incident in the owner’s driveway. Noteworthy details include dealer installed front and rear spoilers as well as aftermarket 18” wheels with fresh Yokohama tires. The seller notes that the original set of 17” 5-spoke Cup Design wheels will be included with the sale.
The driver is situated in a classic two-tone black and Cashmere Beige partial leather interior. Touting an original sticker price of over $70k, this Carrera highlights the Power Seat Package as well as the Hi-Fi Sound Package with an AM/FM radio and CD player. The interior is stated to be in fantastic condition with all gauges, electrical components and accessories remaining fully functional.
Marking the final iteration of the air-cooled 911, this 993 is equipped with a 3.6 L flat-six engine rated at 282 HP. Power is sent to the rear wheels by way of a 6-speed manual transmission making for a 0-60 time of approximately 5 seconds. The optional Motor Sound Package adds a revised airbox and muffler which provide for an enhanced engine note. This Carrera has been treated to over $16k in recent service items including an engine reseal and new alternator as well as fresh plugs, belts, fluids and filters. Having been kept up to date on all scheduled maintenance by an authorized Porsche dealership, this 993 is said to be in excellent running order.
The sale of this Carrera will include a set of two keys, original books and tools, service records, factory Cup Design wheels and the original window sticker. Do not miss out on your opportunity to get behind the wheel of this well-maintained and tastefully modified Porsche 993.

@jakeg104 A new image has been added to the photo gallery.
@jakeg104 Hi Jake! Yes it was unfortunate. The Porsche 993 bumpers are like fiberglass. I'm requesting PCarmarket to upload the pic i got from the dealer. I was too upset to take any pictures. Thanks! Dan
Bid in the amount of $38,000
@dan10993,
Do you possibly have a pic of the bumper after your unfortunate incident? I've done that before and talk about being upset!! :-(
@kp115 Images of the cylinder leak down/compression readings have been uploaded to the photo gallery
Bid in the amount of $35,000
Bid in the amount of $28,993
@kp115 Thanks for taking a look! Yes, the oil pressure gauge is always low at idle and will raise during driving. Good observation! When the car was purchased from the dealer, the factory Porsche aerokit was already installed. You could easily switch it back to a decklid with the part if you wanted. Regarding the leakdown test, yes this was done before the engine reseal and was good for each cylinder. I have pictures of each of the 6 cylinder leak down/compression tests and will have Pcarmarket upload them tomorrow morning so you can see the readings. Thanks! Dan
A few questions Dan
Oil pressure seemed low in the video, has it always been this low at idle?
Do you still have the original deck lid grille from Reeves?
Did you have a compression and leak down test done?
Bid in the amount of $27,993
@904042 Thanks for taking a look at my car! I looked through the service records, sorry it took awhile. I replaced the the AC evaporator and drier receiver & blower motor around 49-50k miles and have not had any problems since. The AC blows cold even in south Florida. The clutch was replaced around 66299 miles. When the engine reseal was being performed in Oct 2018 I asked the dealer to replace it but Reeves Porsche said it was not necessary. Clutch is good. Front pads/ rotors and sensors were replaced around 62k miles. Rear brakes are original but front and rear work great, the car stops on a dime so to speak. When new tires/ balancing was done in January 2020 I asked about the breaks again as well and was told they were still good. I never drove the car " hard " to wear all the parts out. I always looked after the car. Suspension is original and rides good but will eventually need to be updated per driver preference. I also received some questions about the windows and sunroof which work great. The car is a non-smoking car and I never allowed anyone to have food in it as well. I have a call into the dealer to research your questions about the ignition wire set. Car starts/idles and runs great! Let me know if there are any other questions. Thanks Dan

Bid in the amount of $26,000
Beautiful car! I see the recent engine work records and the fact that it has new tires and an alignment. In nearly 82k miles, there must be some info on brake, suspension, and HVAC service done. Also, there was mention of a new ignition wire set for $530 at the end of the 8/27/18 service. Was this done elsewhere? Thanks for your help.
I would like to thank everyone for your bids and interest in my 993.

@drpijuan Hi drpijuan, I will reach out to pcarmarket tomorrow to list the documents that i have. Thanks for taking a look at my 993 auction. Dan
Could you post a detailed invoice of the $16k in recent service items including an engine reseal and new alternator as well as fresh plugs, belts, fluids and filters, and if any additional recommendations were made, thanks.
@HMOrlando - Hi HMOrlando, after 20 years of owning my 993 and taking extra care all the time, I accidently bumped the mailbox late at night while backing out of the driveway. Although it was not easily noticeable it bothered me so I chose to replace with new rather than try to repair / repaint or leave it. All work was done by auth Porsche with OEM parts. Let me know if you have any other questions. Thanks! Dan
Bid in the amount of $11,500
Hello... please curious to why the rear bumper was replaced recently and was the paint work done by the dealership? Thanks!
@ChrisA Hi Chris, the front and rear Porsche aerokit was dealer installed at initial delivery at Reeves Porsche in Tampa. I contacted Reeves for all my service records and they mailed Thursday. I will have this week. Let me know if you have any other questions. Thanks!
@dan10993. Do you have the service history records ? When were the spoilers added? Thanks Chris
