Now up for auction is this 1997 Porsche 993 Carrera Coupe finished in Glacier White over a Midnight Blue interior. Among the last of the air-cooled 911’s, this desirable 1997 Coupe features a 3.6L flat-six Varioram engine that sends power to the rear wheels through a 6-speed manual transmission. Options equipped from the factory include the Motor Sound Package, an 8-way power driver's seat, and an electric sunroof. It was recently acquired by the seller from its previous owner who had covered approximately 5k miles since their purchase in 2015. Now showing just over 84k miles on the odometer, this 993 is being offered for auction by its seller out of New York accompanied by original owner's manuals.
This Carrera is finished in Glacier White and rides on upgraded 18” Turbo-look wheels dressed in Continental Extreme Contact tires. A couple of small chips are noted on the left front fender and windshield, and the seller reports the bumpers to have likely been refinished at some point during previous ownership. CARFAX also shows minor front-end damage to have occurred in 2003 and there are no repair records or further information available, detailed images are provided in the photo gallery along with paint meter readings.
Inside, the driver is situated in a Midnight Blue partial leather interior equipped with an 8-way power driver's seat, cruise control, and an electric sunroof. Some signs of wear are noted on the driver’s seat and shift knob. The original Becker CDR-210 radio has been retained and the seller confirms all gauges and accessories to be fully functional at this time.
This 993 carries an air-cooled 3.6L flat-six Varioram engine paired with a 6-speed manual gearbox that sends as much as 282 HP to the rear wheels. This particular example was also optioned with the Motor Sound Package which adds a more resonant airbox and louder mufflers. A major update for the 993 generation was the use of a new alloy multi-link rear suspension which significantly improved handling while also providing better ride quality. There are no service records available and the seller will provide a fresh oil change and A/C recharge upon sale to the next owner.
This sale will include an original key and remote fob, owner's manuals, and a clean title. Don't miss your chance to become the next owner of this nicely appointed 993 Coupe.

@jwong77 Rare colors, nice buy! Im still kicking myself.
Congrats to the winner, its a beauty!
@jwong77 Less than the current bid! But to be fair he listed it twice with lots of price changes.

@playswithporsches Oh man! How much was it on there?

@R1119 your questions are disrespectful to everybody. Better read the rules of PCAR.

@countryclubfl I guess so. That doesn’t make it a scam. I guess everyone’s ok with that lol
Stop bidding on it haha
Bid in the amount of $60,000
@R1119 any bid under 2 min will add 2 min back to the clock. that is standard, guess you are new here.
Bid in the amount of $59,000
LOVE this color combo. Beautiful car.
@R1119 Resets to 2 minutes after every bid. No sniping.
Bid in the amount of $58,500
@696 not true a true PPi can’t bring a car up to snuff.
Bid in the amount of $57,750
@ Porsche dreamer. To each their own, but cars without records and with paint work won’t be worth the same amount. If one is planning to keep forever it probably doesn’t matter. If you get the car ig doesn’t have needs then its a probably a good buy
@R1119 not a scam

Is this a scam ? Went to 2 minutes 4 times already
Bid in the amount of $55,500

Bid in the amount of $55,000
@696 You've just illustrated my point. What is the problem if you otherwise have to pay $75k for a comparable car that has had an engine rebuild (by a reputable shop)? It doesn't make sense only if the $25k of deferred maintenance leaves you with a $60k car.
Bid in the amount of $53,250
@696 thanks for your positive comments and your bids....
@696 yikes
Bid in the amount of $53,000
@ porsche dreamer. A 50k 993 that needs an engine rebuild quickly becomes the same money as a 75k fully sorted car. I’ve learned the hard way in the past that Porsches with deferred maintenance quickly becomes a top dollar car investment. Not saying this car has problems. It may be in great mechanical condition, but it seems an unknown.
Bid in the amount of $52,250
Someone’s going to get a great car at a fair number
@696 just a oversight. This is a really clean driver. Priced appropriately
Bid in the amount of $52,000
Bid in the amount of $47,500
Seller. Why isn’t ppi posted?
@696 and @bents
To be fair, I do not believe the seller is looking for "top dollar". A clean 993 manual coupe of this mileage and without accident probably goes for around $75-80k. If you poke around the Internet, you will see that the seller is not looking for the same price point.
Of course, lots can go wrong when history may be lacking... but whatever price this might sell for might leave some room in the budget for some repairs. Anyone buying a car like this should probably budget $5k-$10k of immediate repairs anyway.
@NinetiesGarage it doesn’t need tires. They are in great shape
@bents then you have asked for it ….
@Farmhouse27 Does it need new tires due to age? Date codes handy?
Bid in the amount of $46,993
@bents also we have receipts from current ownership for Row springs , fluid Changes , brakes (pads ,rotors and fluid flush). Totaling about 7,000 in work preformed in the current ownership. Hope this helps sell a great 993.
Bid in the amount of $43,993
@bents the car had a PPI at Rennwerk Porsche in elmsford ny when the owner bought the car w 78k on it. This car runs perfect your hesitation of a sellers PPI shouldn’t keep you from bidding.you can simple do your own when you win the auction.this is a great 993 thanks
@696 Agreed! I'd be all over this if it had documentation of a recent PPI.
Bid in the amount of $43,000
Looks like a decent driver, but no records and no inspection. What could go wrong? It seems like if you want top dollar for a car you would provide a ppi document. I know some would say that the seller would allow a ppi, but who wants to pay that on auction where you don’t know where the final bids are going to end up. I would be interested in this car if I knew about its mechanical condition, especially on a car with no service records.
Bid in the amount of $42,250
Bid in the amount of $42,000
@NinetiesGarage ,hello the factor motor sound package is on the car. T
@Farmhouse27 Are the factory Motor Sound Package components currently on the car (or included if not)? Thank you.
@Farmhouse27 brakes are new
@bents I really believe that this car has been spot painted all over. That is probably the reason for so few chips . I hope that the paint meter readings weren’t miss taken.
Bid in the amount of $40,250
Bid in the amount of $40,000
Agree with previous commenter - please post context for the higher paint meter readings. They ask more questions than they answer.

Good morning. I live in Westhampton and was going to try and come out to see the car. I am in NYC now. Are you around? TY. Rick

@Ryanonarcher I don't believe that there are any other imperfections other than what is noted. A very small chip on the right front fender and a very small chip on rear bumper . There are no leaks other than normal Porsche seepage. Absolutely no rust . the scratches you mention on the front fender is a tar splash that no one noticed during the photo session . (sorry about that)
No vibrations or grinding at all . I will try to get a cold start video up . Thanks for your interest
@Farmhouse27 BRAKES
Will you please describe further cosmetic issues that are perhaps not stated in the description. There appears to be chips in the driver side rear view mirror and (scratches?) on the front passenger wheel well? Please let us know what other cosmetic imperfections are present on the car that are not in the description?
Will you please post a cold start up video and driving video?
Are there any noticeable shaking/shimmies, grinding or other extraneous noises while driving and shifting gears?
Are there leaks noted under the car when parked - there appears to be significant oil staining on the undercarriage.
Is there any rust noted around windshields and trunk space?
Thank you
@HelpMeHelpU The springs are ROW.
Also the breaks are new.
@Farmhouse27 Ok, but original equipment? Or changed to something else? With these miles, it would be surprising if it’s still original.
@HelpMeHelpU It's been lowered a 1/2 inch and balanced
Bid in the amount of $31,000
Bid in the amount of $30,000
One of my favorite color combos.
Is the suspension original?
Bid in the amount of $21,250
@Ryanonarcher Yes , a PPI is welcomed . Your mechanic is welcome to use our shop to do it.
@Ryanonarcher Very possible there has been other paint spotting before we received the car .
Is the '11' paint meter reading on a door? Also interesting that the write up states there was minor impact to bumper but the bonnet is reading a 10 on the paint meter, which seems high to be original.
Any further detail would be helpful. Thank you
Will the seller be willing to get a PPI done prior to the close of the auction?
