One of the most sought-after 911s of its generation, the Porsche 993 Carrera 4S shares its wide bodywork, brakes, wheels, and bumper design with the Turbo model along with a 6-speed manual transmission sending power to all four wheels. This 1997 example comes finished in Black over a matching leather interior with optional supple leather seats. The car was also ordered with the optional Motor Sound package, Exclusive stainless-steel tailpipes, and a rear model designation delete. Having belonged to only two owners since new, this 4S has been with its caretaker since 2016 and is now offered for auction out of Rhode Island showing approximately 35k miles on the odometer.
This 993 comes finished in Black (L741) and was factory-configured without model lettering on the rear decklid. Exclusive stainless-steel tailpipes also came from the factory along with optional colored center crests for the 18” Turbo-Look wheels. The clear factory-applied stone guards on the rear fenders show signs of age and the seller notes minor stone chips on the hood as well as a scuff on the lower front spoiler, scuffs on one of the wheels, and a small crack on the lower passenger-side windshield and right rear taillight. The exterior received an application of ceramic coating in 2020, additional images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report that incorrectly shows only one owner.
The black leather interior (VD) includes optional 8-way heated and power-operated front seats trimmed in supple leather as well as an electric sunroof, onboard computer, cruise control, and sound system with an original Porsche CDR-210 radio. The seller notes the factory immobilizer system has been professionally disabled, eliminating the need for a remote key fob when starting the car.
As much as 282 HP comes from an air-cooled 3.6-liter flat-six engine that drives all four wheels through a 6-speed manual transmission. The optional Motor Sound Package provides factory modifications for a louder, more aggressive tone. All available maintenance history is shown on the CARFAX report and the seller states the oil and brake fluid has been changed three times since 2016.
This sale will include the original owner’s manuals and a current Rhode Island registration.

@jaynar RI like many states, does not issue titles on older cars. If yours’ does, simply present a current RI registration and your state will issue a title.
@jaynar RI is one of many states that does not issue titles on older cars. If you’re in a state that does, simply present the current RI registration along with the bill of sale and your state will issue a title
Curious how the transfer would go since Rhode Island does not issue titles for cars 2000 and older? Does the registration have a transfer section? Will be interesting to see how other states handle it.

@QMSRI Meant to add, no we do not know of any resealing efforts and it certainly doesn't need any at this time.
@blackdogcars 1) QMS is providing Marketing Support to owner; this is a private party sale.
2) We believe the cars' paint to be original and will post paint meter readings shortly.
3) The carpets and mats are in very good condition, not sure what you're seeing. The same for the sun roof, see our comment from earlier today. There are no unusual odors, actually still has pleasant leather smell.
Regarding oil or valve cover leaks, please see our earlier comments along with photo of the engine protection cover. We've been around many of these 993's and this one is among the driest we've seen. Still time for a call.
Hoping PCAR will post the drive and cold start videos soon!
Bid in the amount of $80,300
@QMSRI - Looks like a very nice widebody 993! As we ponder placing bid(s), just a few questions. In the video, you referenced "the owner" of the car having a nice little collection. Is this being sold on consignment or are you a middleman/agent helping the owner? Can you comment on the originality of the paint and whether any panels have been painted? Not seeing any paint gauge photos. Those should really be posted on a car like this.
As I look through the interior photos, the carpet in certain areas appears quite matted, like it has been wet recently. Are you able to comment on whether there has been any interior water penetration (or musty odor)? Sunroof/headliner area does show droplet stains. Perhaps, the owner had the carpet detailed using water/extractor and that is what catches the eye?!? Any history of valve cover gaskets or an engine reseal in the past? Thank you and best of luck today! Love these widebody 993s!

@PCARMARKET Will the cold start and drive videos be available soon?
@Goose905 It's bad lighting, the headliner and the entire interior are in excellent condition. No evidence of any leaks and the sunroof operates well and closes tight.
In picture #43 there appears to be some discoloration in the fabric surrounding the opening of the sunroof. Is that lighting in the picture or has there been any history of sunroof leak or repair? Thanks!

A prospective bidder asked about oil leaks or weeping. The engine is very dry and shows no signs of oil leaks. We'll refer all to the photo of the engine protection pan in the gallery. The pan was not cleaned prior to be being photographed.
Welcome to our auction of this low mileage and well preserved 1997 Porsche C4S coupe.
We have a great deal of experience with 993's (both Turbo and naturally aspirated) and this example is easily in the top percentage from a condition and mechanical standpoint. All mechanical systems and accessories operate as designed and the A/C works as well as most.
We look forward to your questions and comments and are happy to assist with on site pre-purchase inspections or live Facetime walk arounds.
