We are pleased to introduce this 1997 Porsche 993 “ Reimagined 4RS” by Porsche Classic Monterey.  To promote their Classic Partnership, the factory-trained technicians at Porsche Monterey set out to create their interpretation of the perfect air-cooled 911.  Beginning with a 1997 Carrera 4S, this 993 underwent a comprehensive nut-and-bolt RS-style transformation using 97% genuine Porsche Classic parts.  The interior was completely redone, the exterior was fitted with front and rear spoilers, the suspension was completely overhauled and upgraded, and the engine was rebuilt and increased to a hearty 3.8L displacement.  The car made its debut at the 2nd annual Porsche Classic Monterey event in 2019 and was met with an overwhelmingly positive response.  Offering all-wheel-drive performance, wide C4S bodywork, 3.8L power, and the iconic characteristics of an RS, this one-of-a-kind 993 is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Illinois.

This Arctic Silver Metallic 993 was comprehensively disassembled and rebuilt with genuine RS front and rear spoilers.  It was also outfitted with all new seals and moldings, trim pieces, glass, new fog lights, headlights, clear turn signals, chrome exhaust tips, and a special “4RS” rear designation.  A collection of detailed images is provided in the photo gallery along with build records.  This 993 rides on a set of Speedline-style Tramont Cup 2 wheels dressed in Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires.

Inside, the cabin was completely redone with all new RS carpeting, insulation, trim, labels, and leather-covered RS door panels.  The rear seats were deleted and a 993 RS steering wheel was installed in addition to an RS shift knob, red seatbelts, custom Rennline stainless steel door sills, and hardback Recaro Sport seats with custom houndstooth-upholstered inserts and Planted seat brackets.  All-new speakers were also installed along with a Porsche Classic radio. The air conditioning system was removed, and the location of the compressor now bears a special Porsche Classic Monterey badge.

The original 3.6L flat-six Varioram engine was removed, completely rebuilt, and upgraded to 3.8L RS specifications by the technicians at Porsche Monterey.  A new exhaust was fitted along with a carbon fiber heater duct and an upgraded 996 GT3 oil pump.  All four wheels are driven through a 6-speed manual transmission, and stopping power is handled by robust “Big Red” Brembo brakes front and rear. The suspension was completely rebuilt and upgraded with adjustable JRZ RS1 coilovers and track control arms.  The car was painstakingly tuned and tested and has been driven just over 100 miles since completion.  CARFAX shows regular service to have been carried out by Porsche Monterey since 2008 and a collection of records from the RS transformation are provided in the photo gallery detailing the incredible amount of work that has gone into this build.

This sale will include the build records, a genuine Porsche car care kit in a houndstooth duffel, and a clean title.  This beautifully executed “4RS” awaits its next owner, do not miss out on this very special opportunity.
