Now available for auction is this 1997 Porsche 993 Turbo presented in the rare color of Dark Blue over a stunning two-tone Midnight Blue and Classic Grey leather interior with carbon fiber. Purchased by its current owner in Southern California back in 2002 with some minor damage, this highly sought after 993 Turbo was completely inspected by Andial before undergoing mechanical and cosmetic refurbishments to bring the car up to excellent overall condition. Some performance upgrades were also installed including Bilstein coilovers, a Turbo S tune and a 21mm rear sway bar. Showing only 28,445 original miles on the odometer, this beautifully appointed 993 Turbo is now being offered by its seller in California while remaining in superb driving condition.
The rarely-seen nonmetallic Dark Blue finish on this 993 is said to be in outstanding condition with Xpel paint protective film applied over the front bumper, hood, spoiler and lights (detailed images are provided in the photo gallery). A custom vinyl pinstripe has been added which is totally removable. This Turbo is characterized by its wide fenders, revised front fascia and distinctive rear spoiler. The factory hollow spoke Turbo Twist wheels were professionally refinished with painted centers and a polished outer rim. New Michelin Pilot Sport tires were also installed within the last 1k miles.
Early on in this car’s life, this Turbo was involved in an accident that caused damage to the front right fender, spoiler lip, door and rear quarter panel. The minor front fender and spoiler lip damage was repaired, and the door was replaced in Arizona by the previous owner. Upon the seller’s purchase in 2002, this 993 was brought to Andial for an inspection which confirmed that the body damage was in the rear quarter, and that the damage to the front fender and door were purely cosmetic and properly repaired. The frame showed no signs of damage and the engine, transmission and half shaft were found to be unscathed by the incident. The seller later had the rear quarter panel repaired and professionally refinished to as-new standards. This car is accompanied by a clean California title, although the Carfax shows a branded rebuilt status.
Inside, this Turbo features a gorgeous two-tone Midnight Blue and Classic Grey leather interior with optional carbon fiber and aluminum trim on the steering wheel, handbrake and gear shift lever. Carbon fiber cladding also surrounds the white instrument gauges as well as the buttons on the forward center console. Stainless steel pedals have been installed along with a Rennline stainless steel floorboard. The seller confirms all gauges and electrical components to be fully functional.
Representing the final air cooled 911 Turbo, this 993 is equipped with a 3.6 L twin turbocharged flat-six engine which sends 408 HP stock to all four wheels by way of a 6-speed manual transmission with limited slip differential. Upgrades include Bilstein coilovers, a 21mm rear sway bar, lowered and corner balanced suspension, a front shock tower brace, rear pillar brace, Fabspeed exhaust, 'Cup' clutch kit, lightweight flywheel, factory Turbo S tune (35 hp added), factory upgraded turbo oil lines and a factory alternator pulley upgrade. At 17,304 miles the transmission received new pilot and throw out bearings before being completely resealed. Reported to have been continually maintained by Andial under the current owner’s supervision, this Turbo is said to drive beautifully with the following service items addressed at the corresponding intervals:
This sale will include a set of 2 keys, books and service records. Sporting an outstanding configuration while showing just over 28k original miles on the odometer, this Turbo offers a truly incredible value for any enthusiast.

This is the nicest 993 Turbo I've seen (aesthetically). I kind of want to bid, but I don't deserve to own a car like this.

@Rhmd1 Hello, unfortunately I do not have a recent PPI or inspection result. When I had the service/performance work completed by Andial they took a deep look into the car and chassis which they approved of, however, I do not have anything available in writing from them regarding that.
Dear Seller.
Do you happen to have a recent PPI or inspection result?
Any documents stating the frame is stable and not damaged from its previous accident?
Thank you
@Nfldcoffee Additional photos have been added to the listing gallery.
@DarkBlue993 .....Thanks
@Nfldcoffee thanks for checking in. The photo of the white sticker label on the hood was submitted to PCAR a few days ago. I re-sent the photo of hood label earlier today, a photo of the additional options on the original window sticker, and a video; I am hoping they will be able to upload those to the gallery soon..
The exterior color of the car per the original window sticker is “Dark Blue.”
Don’t forget we are waiting for pic of White option Label.
Is this the original colour of car ? Is this Ocean Blue.?
@WheelGenius The Salvage auction was previous to my purchase. Please see previous explanation of Title issue. As stated the California Title is NOT branded in any way, either previous to my purchase or after, so the assumption is that it was considered close to a "total loss" by the insurance company because it was a high value car at the time, and they probably did not want to take the risk of cost of repair.
The car was a consignment at a high end dealer when I purchased it. I then undertook the additional repairs to bring it to my standard.
@WheelGenius Tires replaced 09/29/2018. A little more then 1,000 miles since new.
@DarkBlue993, also what is the service date on the tires? It looks like they were just installed 2-3 years ago?
HI @DarkBlue993, gorgeous car! My question is surrounding the title. Carfax indicates the car was sold/purchased at salvage auction? Nothing about that was mentioned, between what two parties did the sale transact between the first and second buyer? Also, did you purchase the car fom a dealer or private party? You said it had a rebuilt title, but no salvage brand when you bought it, but then that was changed? Can you clear up some of those details? It's still a bit confusing. Thank you!

Aluminum pedals and suspension mods hint it could’ve been tracked, which isn’t necessarily a negative if it was maintained correctly. Maybe accident happened at the track. Can you publish a Carfax on this car?
Hello everyone, thank you for the interest in the car so far!
The following has just been added to the photo gallery:
- A few new exterior photos
- Undercarriage photos
- Photos of the receipts from the work completed by Andial
- Submitted a short video to PCAR of the car driving off
I can assure you that you will not be let down if you get a chance to see this garage queen in person. If anyone has questions feel free to reach out at anytime!
darkblue993...you mentioned you will be posting pics of undercarriage?

@jaynar After doing my own research, I am assuming at the time of the insurance Accident Claim, it was considered a high dollar repair, and either the owner or the insurance company decided to show it as a total loss. This shows up on NMVTIS (National Motor Vehicle Title Information System) as a “rebuilt” car with no salvage title. The title was clean with no brand when I bought it, and still holds a clean CA title. Carfax shows it as ‘salvage’, I believe they assumed it was salvaged rather than a total loss. NMVTIS is a .gov database that all accident information and ownership is reported to, and they show the car as rebuilt, with no salvage title issues. In order to have a rebuilt title rather than salvaged, the car would have had to pass and comply with DOT standards to be on the road again.
The title has held a clean and not branded title before my ownership, during my ownership, and according to the state of California, it is a clean title.
@bobcar Got it thank you sir!
@jaynar a rebuilt title is what’s given to salvage car once it deemed driveable by the state authority.
Maybe someone can answer this for me. Is there a difference between a salvage title and a rebuilt title as far as how they title in California concerning this situation?

Can I come take a look at the car in person?
@Nfldcoffee The white option label is still on the hood, I will have a photo uploaded to the gallery. The pinstripe was added for aesthetic purposes about 5 years ago and can be removed without causing any damage to the paint; it does not hide any flaws or blends.
@jaynar Yes, the car will come with a clean and up to date CA smog upon purchase. The most recent service was completed about 6 months ago at which time we replaced the oil and oil filter, inspected the gear oil which was still clean and at an appropriate level, and replaced the front brake pads and rotors.
@Cgt000 The car is located at a private residence in Fallbrook, CA, USA.
@JJensen No problem, the work performed by Andial was completed in 2003 and 2004.

@DarkBlue993 thank you, what year does the recipes show the work being done ?
Where is the car located at?

Bid in the amount of $57,899
Will you Smog it for a California buyer? When was the last service?
Also would like to see the option sticker.
Two questions
1. is the option code white label still attached under the front hood?
2. are vinyl pinstripes hiding paint blend were the car was repainted?
@JJensen Hi there, the work Andial commissioned consisted of all new suspension (bilsteins), rear lower suspension links, the car was lowered and corner balanced, a new Carrera Cup clutch, pressure plate, throw-out bearing were installed, and a number of other minor things - all of which I have the receipts for.
@andrewn Hello Andrew, thank you for your interest. The exhaust is from "Fab Speed" (receipts available) and basically it consists of a muffler delete that still mounts up to the factory catalytic convertors. It is smog legal and sounds amazing!
@Craignyc Hi Craig, thank you for your interest. I do have the original seat pads and belts and those will be included with the car. Unfortunately I do not have any photos of the damage prior to the repairs. I was aware that the car had been in an accident when I purchased it, but the car was in complete cosmetic and running order at the time. I was not 100% satisfied with how the lower rocker panel aligned with the rear quarter panel so at that time I had the rear quarter panel re-worked and it now presents indistinguishable to factory specifications. I do have receipts for when I commissioned my repairs.
@LloydChristmas When I purchased the car I was aware it had been in an accident, however, it still held a clean title as it does today.

Why no replies from the seller on my and others questions?
Title status: Clean
Salvage title issued.
Both can not be true.
Salvage title indicates more than a minor incident, please provide pictures as previously requested and or receipts from the work done. Also the rear seats have been removed as well as seat belt posts, do you still have those?
Hello, do you have receipts for the Andial upgrades ?
