This Carrera S is now being offered for auction by its seller out of New Jersey with approximately 23k miles showing on the odometer.

These desirable lightweight wheels feature optional colored Porsche center crests and come dressed in Michelin Pilot Sport tires. Repairs had been made to the front end under previous ownership as could be seen beneath the carpet in the front trunk. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.

A service carried out in July of 2021 at 23,224 miles included an oil change, air filter replacement, and inspection. Additional service records on CARFAX date as far back as 2010 and images of the undercarriage can be found in the gallery.

This sale will include a set of two remote keys, one spare key, owner’s manuals, and a clean title. If you are in search of a beautifully preserved low-mileage Porsche 993 Carrera S, this timeless black-on-black example is not to be overlooked.

    IMO this was an appropriate move to maintain community faith in the platform. Part of rewarding full disclosure from other sellers is pulling auctions where there are too many questions, as was the case here.

  • 696 (registered bidder) 2 years, 11 monthsago

    @pcarmarket. I think this was the right thing to do. Glad that you guys stepped up and did this. Hopefully inspections go ok and the next owner gets a car that they are happy with.

    Please be advised that we are leaving the listing up for a short while so all may be able to view and share thoughts pertaining to the vehicle

    All comments and requests directed to PCARMARKET should be sent to our help desk and not posted here.

    We want to again thank the community for their involvement.

    Message from PCARMARKET: Thank you all for your comments regarding this listing. As individuals that buy and sell cars in our personal lives, we agree with most of the comments. Our goal is to find the best way to remedy what has clearly become a challenging situation. Please be assured that sellers are held accountable and must adhere to strict ethical guidelines in order to list cars on this platform. We also understand that how we handle these challenges when they do arise is extremely important. We originally felt that since the car did not reach the adjusted reserve, we would allow the auction to continue (in light of the new information) to its scheduled conclusion, leaving the current bids in place. It is more than likely however, that some of the bids may have never happened if the information was accurate from the beginning. As a result, we will be withdrawing the auction.
    We may allow the car to run a new 7 day auction which would allow bidders the time to perform a proper PPI at an independent shop.
    Once again, thank you all for your comments. A true community has been created here. We greatly appreciate all of you.

    @CRIMLAWGUY Funny, I'm a BizLawGuy!
    @696 @CRIMLAWGUY I'm dealing with one of the biggest online watch companies right now with a very significant fraud issue. Companies like @PCARMARKET are caught in a twisted conundrum - sellers are their bread and butter and there is increasing competition to attract them and their big ticket cars. They need buyers too, but without sellers, the party never gets started. So sellers rarely get their wrists slapped for running afoul of the established rules of commerce. Present situation is a perfect example.

    Honestly, at this point, there is no way that I would trust the seller’s own tech to tell me this car is not going to be a problem. I would only trust the opinion of a different Porsche shop. Unfortunately, this will never be a blue chip car. It might a decent car in the end or it could have serious issues. The way this has gone down isn’t confidence inspiring.

    @PoorscheMan & @Full_Disclosure & @696 — Very thoughtful and helpful posts, thank you for looking out for your fellow Porsche enthusiasts!

    @PCARMARKET Really, the fair thing to do is go through the bids and allow people to rescind their bids until you have a new high bid. This is fair to the bidders and will discourage future sellers from being anything but completely transparent. It would be an awkward/embarrassing situation for all involved parties if the current high bidder decides the inaccurate information influenced his bid.

    @seller

    So at first it was stated:
    100% original paint
    No panels replaced
    Front trunk in perfect condition

    After the rennlist thread surfaced that all changed. It has paint work and not only was a panel replaced…but you now have documentation for the work?

    Looking at the carfax it seems you have had this car since late July 2020? None of this was noticed or known about the car for well over a year with you?

  • PCARMARKET 2 years, 11 monthsago

    @PoorscheMan we appreciate each and every member of our community that help bring factual information to help ensure accuracy. We have spoken with the seller and decided to let the auction run its course with the new information being brought to light. Best of luck to all.

  • PoorscheMan 2 years, 11 monthsago

    @696 Thank you and the others in this chat that brought to light this "inadvertent oversight." The Porsche community is tight and members of the community are invaluable!

    @turbotax thank you, saved me a bid !

    I want to apologize for the oversight on the paint work and repair, we did not mean to mislead anyone, it was an oversight on our part. Regarding the front truck panel of the vehicle, it is now clear to us that it had been replaced. When first inspection of the car was done by one of our younger technicians, it was missed. After questions began to arise, I had our master technician Gaspare inspect it himself. He found that a panel had been replaced. There was no structural damage found and the frame rails are laser straight and documents of the panel that was replaced, have been sent to Pcar, as well as the part number used. There is light paint work present, see meter reading attached. It remains a well serviced, great running 993.

    @Mleonard7 https://rennlist.com/forums/993-forum/1239607-993-wb-values-are-up-89.html

    I'm not familiar with how Rennlist works, but see post #1328. Or search (control f) for "das1". Someone in the thread was going to purchase this car a while ago and disclosed the findings in their PPI.

  • Mleonard7 (registered bidder) 2 years, 11 monthsago

    @PoorscheMan Can someone drop the link to the comments on this particular car I cant locate on Rennlist

  • PoorscheMan 2 years, 11 monthsago

    @mmorganstein Can you speak to some of the comments about this card history that have appeared on Rennlist? Was the car damaged in an accident? Were there two rounds of repairs? Thanks.

  • INTMD8 (registered bidder) 2 years, 11 monthsago

    @mmorganstein At least the front trunk sheetmetal has been replaced.

    Photos of this vehicle are on Rennlist from a prior PPI . Shows that panel with a parts dept sticker # 993 501 033 GRV directly ahead of the battery. (behind plastic trim)

  • PCARMARKET_MODERATOR 2 years, 11 monthsago

    @696 Additional photos have been added to the listing gallery.

  • 696 (registered bidder) 2 years, 11 monthsago

    That's so far from perfect...Buyer Beware. Go to the Rennlist 993 WB Values are up thread if interested in this car.

  • mmorganstein (seller) 2 years, 11 monthsago

    @696 Front trunk photos have been uploaded!

  • mmorganstein (seller) 2 years, 11 monthsago

    @696 The front trunk is in perfect condition and photos were just sent to PCar.

  • mmorganstein (seller) 2 years, 11 monthsago

    @LilO77 Paint is 100% original

  • mmorganstein (seller) 2 years, 11 monthsago

    @porschey None of the panels have been repaired or replaced

  • 696 (registered bidder) 2 years, 11 monthsago

    To be blunt, there are concerns about this car. It's being discussed on Rennlist. If you are going to bid or have bid, then you would be wise to go to rennlist. Specifically, pictures of the frunk are needed with carpet removed. There is concern of poor repair of prior accident. If there is nothing to hide, then provide detailed images. I don't want someone to get burned on this car. If everything is good then show it so people can bid it to the sky.

  • LilO77 (registered bidder) 2 years, 11 monthsago

    Another things that strikes and irritated me - why has the car soooo many pre-owners?

  • LilO77 (registered bidder) 2 years, 11 monthsago

    @mmorganstein thank you!

  • mmorganstein (seller) 2 years, 11 monthsago

    @LilO77 I will be uploading a paint meter reading today to show originality!

  • mmorganstein (seller) 2 years, 11 monthsago

    @Full_Disclosure Yes, I will have a paint meter reading uploaded, by days end!

  • Full_Disclosure 2 years, 11 monthsago

    I would also like to see paint meter readings. Could you also post pictures of the front trunk with the carpet pulled back to see the side and front panels underneath.
    Could you post close ups of any stone chips, paint blemishes?

  • LilO77 (registered bidder) 2 years, 11 monthsago

    Is the paint 100% original? Any infos on that? Thank you! :-)

  • 696 (registered bidder) 2 years, 11 monthsago

    Good advice is to always review Rennlist prior to bidding

  • porschey (registered bidder) 2 years, 11 monthsago

    Have any of the panels been repaired or replaced?

  • PoorscheMan 2 years, 11 monthsago

    @mmorganstein Thanks so much.

  • mmorganstein (seller) 2 years, 11 monthsago

    @PoorscheMan 30k service is approximately $2,600

  • mmorganstein (seller) 2 years, 11 monthsago

    @scuderia Thank you very much for your comment!

  • mmorganstein (seller) 2 years, 11 monthsago
