Among the most desirable air-cooled cars of the era, the 993 Carrera 4S combines naturally aspirated performance with the wide bodywork and all-wheel-drive system of the 911 Turbo. This 1997 example is finished in Arena Red Metallic over grey leather upholstery and features exclusive Aerokit II front and rear bumpers, painted hard-back Sport Seats, the M030 Sport Chassis package, and more. It has also been upgraded with KW V3 coilover suspension, Fister Stage 2 mufflers, and Fabspeed 200-cell X-pipe catalytic converters. Showing approximately 68k miles on the odometer, this handsomely appointed C4S is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Texas.
Compared to a standard 993 Carrera, the 4S features the widened bodywork and bumpers of the 911 Turbo. This example is finished in Arena Red Metallic (L84S) and equipped with distinctive Aerokit Package front and rear spoilers. Modifications include RSR-style front fog light inserts, HID headlights, a lowered suspension, and black-painted 18” 996 Turbo wheels. The front bumper was previously replaced and recently refinished to correct cosmetic imperfections, and a full detail with paint correction was performed following the removal of paint protection film. Minor blemishes are noted, with detailed images provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.
The cabin presents grey leather upholstery with highly sought-after painted hard-back power Sport Seats. Additional options include a HiFi sound system and Porsche-crested floor mats. An aftermarket three-spoke steering wheel has been fitted, along with aluminum shift knob and emergency brake lever trim. All gauges and electronics are confirmed to be in proper working order.
An air-cooled 3.6-liter flat-six engine delivers up to 282 HP to all four wheels through a 6-speed manual transmission. This example is reportedly factory-equipped with the M030 Sport Chassis option, which includes stiffer springs, shock absorbers, and anti-roll bars. Modifications include a KW V3 coilover suspension and a custom exhaust featuring Fister Stage 2 mufflers and Fabspeed 200-cell X-pipe catalytic converters. Additional maintenance includes a new air conditioning compressor installed two years ago, along with recently replaced spark plugs and ignition wires.
This sale will include a clean title, owner’s manuals, a toolkit, a spare tire, and a car cover.
The seller would like you to know: “This is a well-loved Porsche; she gets compliments anytime she is out on the road. She has been adult-owned and cared for. You will struggle to find a better cared-for example of a 4S in this market.”

@bergx7 the calipers are in great shape and are not in need of paint work.
@bergx7 no original suspension does not come with the car, nothing else is missing from the car, it will be sold just as it is in these photos. I do have some records of recent services going back throughout my ownership. I will include them with the sell of the car. No original exhaust for the car.
Oh and calipers - is paint or clear coat faded/peeling on any of them?
A few last ones
1. Does original M030 suspension come with the car?
2. Does original exhaust come with the car?
3. Is there anything else missing beyond the underbody panel?
4. Can you upload or describe the recent service work?
We have about half an hour left, again I am here if you guys have any further questions.

@bergx7 no dash lights staying on at this time.
One more question from driving video: is the anti lock brake light illuminated? Or any other dash lights including the large exclamation mark when you first start the car?
Bid in the amount of $85,000
Thanks seller. Engine out is the only way to properly reseal and the car needs it, just buyer dependent on when they want to address it. It’s not a problem specific to this car, all of them around this age/mileage will eventually need it. Part of the experience!

@bergx7 Some have asked about the engine tray, the car has not had this installed in at least the last 7 years. In regards to a request for a leak down test we could not have that performed in time for this auction. A very well established Porsche independent shop here in San Antonio (Jones Autowerks Inc) has seen the car and at no point has an engine out service been recommended. Please continue to bid with confidence. What you see here is what you get.
@bergx7 the wheels are painted, and yes they are showing a slight amount of use.
One other question: the wheel finish appears to have seen better days. Do you know if it is painted or powder coated currently?
Bid in the amount of $76,000
Are you running the car with the underbody panel on it? is the top of underbody panel (or garage floor if not running it) wet? The car appears to be actively dripping to some degree.
Car otherwise seems to be running great and looks the part. I will continue to participate here.
@Poorshee1 I have updated the listing and included the photos of the underside of the car. Hopefully these images will reassure you that this is a great chance to purchase a solid 993.
Additional content has been added to the gallery for this listing.
I have added a few videos as some of you have requested and should have the underside photos here shortly. Again, I'm here to answer your questions that might pop up.
@r32fan New video content has been added to the listing page.

Do you have a driving video?
Hello Everyone, looks like we have a little less than 19 hours before this auction comes to an end. I am here to answer any questions you might have (to the best of my ability). I know a few of you have requested underside photos of the car and I am hopeful we can have those taken first thing tomorrow and get them updated to the listing around 10:00 AM central time. I do want to mention again that pictures do NOT do this car justice, seeing this color in the sunshine really makes a difference. If you are looking for a 993 that gives you the look of a turbo (without the pricetag) this is the car for you. You will NOT be disappointed. Good luck to all bidders...lets get this thing sold!!!
@bergx7 I just uploaded a few paint meter readings. Hopefully this is helpful for you.
I recently posted a few pictures of the paint meter readings and just want to note what each panel is in relation to the photos. Number 1 is Passenger Rear Quarter Panel, Number 2 going left to right is Passenger Door,, Number 3 is Passenger Front Wing, Number 4 is the roof panel, Number 5 is Drivers Door, Number 6 is the trunk, Number 7 is also the Drivers Door but in a different location, Number 8 is a 2nd spot on the roof, and Number 9 is the Driver rear fender. All in all the readings are consistent throughout the vehicle.

@Poorshee1 trying to have car put up on a rack tomorrow around 9 am and post photos to the listing. Unfortunately that is the quickest I can make that happen.
Being that this 993 resided in PA for half its life, any underbody photos available? If not can you describe condition/rust as well as engine underside color? Are there any signs of oil seepage which would show black and wet. You mentioned earlier that it doesn't "seem" to be leaking, but does the engine exterior show any wet seepage? Thanks
@nogaragespace great question, the front bumper is an OEM replacement purchased from SunCoast. The turbo style ducts and clear corner and fog lights are aftermarket non OEM.
Was front bumper replaced w oem part or aftermarket fiberglass

@Goose997 in regards to rear bumper…an old repair began to show its age. Decided to repair it as well as repaint with much higher quality materials than previous. Also had the paint corrected over the entire car. It was showing its age after removing old PPF and we wanted it to look its absolute best for the new owner.
Bid in the amount of $53,333
Can you comment on why the rear bumper needed to be repainted?
@Poorshee1 fortunately the engine runs strong and shows no signs of internal wear so a leak down test has never even been considered. I’m not sure I have time to get one performed before this auction ends.
Have you done recent compression/leak down tests to share with us so we know the integrity of the engine? Very nice looking car.
Thanks. The underbody and paint meter readings would be helpful. Also a few of the recent receipts from the service book you have if possible.
Bid in the amount of $52,000
In regards to the tires on the car the rears are from 2022 so should be good for a while…depending on your driving style. The front tires are from 2018 so should be replaced in the near future.
@bergx7 the car doesn’t appear to be consuming oil at this point and after several days sitting it doesn’t seem to drip oil either. I do have a notebook of records from current ownership and at this time she is up to date and ready for the next owner to enjoy.
@Goose997 unfortunately the stock wheels have been sold.
@Goose997 Like many older 911s this one has had some paint work. Most recent the rear bumper was repainted and a few areas repaired. A professional restoration shop in San Antonio performed the work.
Are original wheels available with the car?
Additional questions:
1. Any oil consumption? Smoke on startup? What weight oil have you been running?
2. Can you upload some underbody photos and closeups under engine
3. How old are the tires?
4. Any near term maintenance needs?
Bid in the amount of $51,000
Great car. How original is the paint? Do you have paint meter readings? Do you have any service records prior to your ownership? I assume you have records available during your ownership?
Beautiful 993! If i were in the market for another 993 this would be high on my list.
