We are pleased to offer for auction this stunning 1997 Porsche 993 Carrera 4S finished in the rare combination of Ocean Blue Metallic over a Cashmere beige leather interior.  Representing the final generation of the air-cooled 911, this 993 shares the iconic wide bodywork of the Turbo model and features a coveted factory Aerokit II (dealer installed).  Shown to be in excellent overall condition with approximately 38k miles on the odometer, this 1997 example makes the perfect choice for a discerning air-cooled enthusiast.

Finished in Ocean Blue Metallic, the exterior of this 4S remains in great condition with some dings and chips noted.  The seller indicates that paint protective film has been applied over the front bumper, fenders and hood although some fading is present.  The Carfax notes an accident prior to the sellers ownership, however, a recent inspection confirms that all panels are original to the car.  Detailed images are provided in the photo gallery.  Key features include a factory Turbo wide-body, red painted brake calipers and a dealer installed Aerokit II consisting of a distinctive rear spoiler and a revised front fascia.  This 993 rides on a set of factory Turbo Twist wheels which come wrapped in brand-new Bridgestone S04 tires.

Inside, the cabin is upholstered in Cashmere beige leather.  The seller notes the interior to be in excellent condition with all gauges, electrical components and accessories fully functional.  Noteworthy features include tinted windows, factory power-operated leather seats, Hi-Fi Sound Package and an upgraded aluminum pedal set.

This 993 carries its original air-cooled 3.6L flat-six engine which is rated at 282 HP and 250 lb-ft of torque.  All four wheels are driven by way of a smooth 6-speed manual transmission resulting in an originally claimed 0-60 time of 5.2 seconds.  Reported to be up to date on all scheduled maintenance, this 993 has recently received a fluid and filter change as well as an A/C charge, new wiper blades and new hood struts.  Showing approximately 38k miles on the odometer and offered with a clean bill of health, this C4S is ready for a new home.

The sale of this 993 will include all original books and documentation, a set of two keys, an emergency key, car cover, toolkit, maintenance records and clear title.  Do not miss your chance to get behind the wheel of one the most sought-after and highly regarded air-cooled Porsches on the road.

Rear spoiler is factory turbo S type. It is single piece part of the rear deck. You can remove and easily replace with standard rear deck lid or install any other rear deck lid of your choosing. The turbo S rear deck lid is designed to aero work with the existing front facia

Engine always perfect. No rebuild. Never a problem.

  • sellman (seller) 4 years, 4 monthsago

@JBP Nope, no rebuild while I've had it, or that I've known prior to me.

  • sellman (seller) 4 years, 4 monthsago

@JBP Nope, no oil leaks. Always been very dry under the car.

  • JBP (registered bidder) 4 years, 4 monthsago

Also a question for @sellman and @wrpwolf Has the engine or top end ever been rebuilt?

  • JBP (registered bidder) 4 years, 4 monthsago

@sellman Is there any oil leaks at all coming from the engine?

  • sellman (seller) 4 years, 4 monthsago

@rak1161 Yes, I'm sure you can remove the rear spoiler and replace it with one of the other three styles I've seen. I'm not a mechanic, but don't see why it would be much trouble.

  • sellman (seller) 4 years, 4 monthsago

@dnb216 While I have owned the car, the sunroof has never leaked; and doesn't leak currently.

  • rak1161 (registered bidder) 4 years, 4 monthsago

Can the real spoiler be removed since it was aftermarket?

  • dnb216 (registered bidder) 4 years, 4 monthsago

Picture 36/77 shows what may be some water stains aft of the sunroof. Did the roof liner ever get wet? Does/did the sunroof leak? Tks.

@H2NO Photos of paint code sticker added, last 2 pics at the bottom.

  • PCARMARKET 4 years, 4 monthsago

@H2NO this is a very valid concern. When this vehicle was submitted, the seller had no knowledge of the incident since it was prior to his ownership. In order to serve accurate info to our community, we requested he have a third party review the vehicle in which the findings did present the paint work with no report of a panel being replaced and no frame damage.

To our pleasant surprise the previous owner revealed himself in the comments here to shed some light. We called him and he said he was unsure if the hood was replaced or resprayed but was very sure that it was a minor accident with no frame damage and no airbag deployment. Additionally he stated that the car was drivable away from the scene.

We hope this is helpful to the seller and bidders. Best of luck to all.

So, based on the prior owner’s comment, the recent inspection confirming that all panels are original to the car is wrong? Also, the paint code sticker isn’t affixed to the car. Anything else missing from the description?

  • Wrpwolf (registered bidder) 4 years, 4 monthsago

Very minor front bumper and ding in hood when car traveling in opposite direction made an illegal left turn in front of me. Replaced with new bumper and hood. All work through Rennwerke.

  • letMeIn 4 years, 4 monthsago

Wrpwolf, looks like there was an accident under your ownership. Can you share more details what happened, and what was damaged ?

Wow. My old car!! Bought it in 1999 and sold it in 2009. Always well maintained. Is a great drivers car. Great color combo and the Turbo S aero kit makes a statement. Good luck to new owner.
