Now up for auction is this 1997 Porsche 993 Carrera Coupe finished in Black over a Cashmere Beige and Black partial leather interior. Increasingly sought after by enthusiasts and collectors, the 993 represents the final iteration of the air-cooled 911. This 1997 example features a 6-speed manual transmission, an optional limited-slip and Automatic Braking Differential (ABD), 17” wheels with colored center crests, and a full-power driver’s seat. This 993 has been enjoyed by four private owners throughout its life, with the second owner maintaining it for over 12 years and the last two owners being prominent collectors. Remaining very well preserved and accompanied by the original books, window sticker, and a substantial collection of maintenance records, this Carrera has been recently serviced and is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Massachusetts while showing just over 17k miles on the odometer.
The Black finish on this Carrera is said to have been kept in very good original condition with only a few very small stone chips along the front end, detailed images and paint meter readings are provided in the photo gallery along with a clean CARFAX report. This 993 rides on factory 17” Cup 2 wheels featuring optional colored Porsche center crests and new Michelin Pilot Sport tires.
Inside, you will find a Cashmere Beige and Black partial leather interior with an optional full power driver’s seat and an original Porsche CR-210 radio. Standard features include automatic climate control, remote entry with alarm, power/heated side mirrors, cruise control, and an electric sliding sunroof. The seller confirms all gauges and accessories to be fully functional.
This Carrera is equipped with an air-cooled 3.6L flat-six Varioram engine rated at 282 HP. The rear wheels are driven through a 6-speed manual transmission with an optional limited-slip and Automatic Braking Differential (ABD) for improved traction. Maintenance records are said to have been kept throughout the lifetime of the vehicle with service carried out in the last 18 months including complete fluid and filter changes, new tires, brakes, and spark plugs.
This sale will include a set of owner’s manuals, an air compressor, the original window sticker, a collection of maintenance records, and a clean title. For any collector in search of a well-preserved Porsche 993, this 17k-mile 1997 Carrera makes an excellent choice.

Thanks all for the bids. Adam
nice car, pandemic level pricing will be over sooner or later!
Bid in the amount of $95,250
@copleymotorcars nice car but I will disagree on one thing, this level 2S/4S would be closer to $200k based on numbers I have been seeing.
I'd like to take a moment guys to reiterate, this is a 17k mile, completely pure, unmodified car with perfect paint meter readings and every service record back to new along with the original sale invoice. Maybe the highest quality 993 Carrera in existence? This level of car in a 4S/2S would easily surpass $150 if not $165. Tremendous value here. Adam
@toby I agree. Nothing meant as disrespectful to the car in anyway. This car is incredible as is. If a narrow body 993 is collectible (in this market it seems like it is) maybe it’s stored and driven sparingly. If you’re going to drive it suspension work makes the driving experience dramatically better. Lowering to ROW height and updating the 25 yr old parts is an investment in smiles, not dollars.
With all due respect @toby, there is nothing about this car that is "toast". It has been impeccably maintained with no expense spared and has passed multiple intensive PPIs over the past few years with flying colors. Adam
Looks like an original example. The coilover suspension is probably original and toast. I would budget for either new Porsche parts or aftermarket like Bilstein PSS10. I bought a 95 coupe with 21k miles that was all original putting new suspension, tires, alignment made the car so much more enjoyable.
It is dust. These photos were taken at the height of spring pollen bloom and a black car can't stay perfectly clean for more than about seven seconds. Adam
@Seller, looking at pics 30 and 92. Is that patina on the surface? Or just dust? Seems like there are a lot of "white dots" on the surface.
Thanks.

Additional photos have been added to the listing gallery.
Pcar has chassis photos and also photos of the past ~5 years of service records which will be uploaded shortly. I've also included a photo which illustrates how many records there are - from the first service at 540 miles to the most recent just weeks ago. Adam

@copleymotorcars I’m not thinking anything is dubious as I a bidder on the car.
It was a question that I was asking about the service. Fairly straightforward question, I thought.
@richinwhb complete records are included with the car; a binder about an inch thick. I'm not sure I understand what you are thinking is dubious. For the past many years the car has had an annual Mobil 1 service at minimum, usually about every 200-600 miles. Adam
I am curious as to why Wyoming Valley Motors did the 15K inspection in 2007 and then an Exxon dealer states they did a 10k mile service in 2020?
Do you what service they actually performed? Thank you.
Stand by for chassis photos, incoming in about 20 minutes. Adam
Undercarriage photos you said you were going to provide?
Bid in the amount of $60,000
The immobilizer/drive block is operating correctly as is the climate control system. No recent "work" done on either system, both are simply intact and fully operational.
Clean carfax report is included; I can take some undercarriage photos in the next day or so to confirm the bottom matches the top (it does).
Thanks all, Adam
The only things missing that I can tell are: a clean CarFax report, underbody photos as a NE car, and a cold startup video. Nice looking car!
Has any work been done to the immobilizer/is it fully functional and does the remote keyless entry operate? Also, any work done to the climate control system? Thanks

Fine looking example. Should do really well. GLWTA!
Thank you pcar for the listing. This is just the most lovely time-capsule of a 993 and with just the right options and ZERO corruption, offers such a sublime driving experience. Narrow body / LSD ... if you know, you know. Porsche perfection. I'll be available throughout the auction to address any questions about the car, but know that there is not much to talk about here that isn't self evident! Recent service records to come shortly. Thank you all, Adam
