Among the most desirable of the final air-cooled 911s, this 1997 Porsche 993 Carrera 4S comes finished in Black and was factory optioned with exclusive Aerokit Turbo II spoilers, the Motor Sound Package, stainless steel exhaust pipes, and the HiFi Sound Package with speakers. A previous owner also fitted white instrument dials, carbon shifter and brake handles, wheel caps with “4S” script, an upgraded KW coilover suspension, Protomotive tuning, and an RS Clubsport flywheel. It had been under the care of a Porsche 993 collector in Massachusetts before being acquired by the current owner in April of 2022. Benefitting from approximately $30k worth of recent service, this outstanding 993 C4S is now being offered for auction out of Florida showing just under 40k miles on the odometer.
This 993 comes finished in Black with factory optioned Aerokit Turbo II front and rear spoilers. Compared to the standard 993 Carrera, the 4S features the wider fenders and rockers of the 911 Turbo model. The factory 18” Turbo-look wheels have been fitted with “4S" logo center caps and a new set of Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires mounted within the last 800 miles. Stainless steel tailpipes were also optioned from the factory along with a rear window wiper. The exterior has been fully detailed, ceramic coated, and preserved under paint protection film applied to the front end and rockers. Only a few small chips are noted on the hood and front bumper beneath the film, detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.
The black leather interior came factory equipped with optional full power-operated seats for the driver and passenger as well as the HiFi Sound Package with Speakers. Other optional equipment was installed under prior ownership including white instrument dials and carbon/aluminum shifter and brake handles. The sunroof felt was replaced in 2022 and full service of the A/C system. A new Porsche Classic radio has been installed and all gauges and accessories are said to remain fully functional.
The air-cooled 3.6-liter flat-six engine is factory rated at 282 HP and drives all four wheels through a 6-speed manual transmission. In October of 2021, the car was upgraded with an adjustable KW coilover suspension as well as an RS Clubsport single mass lightweight flywheel and a Protomotive DME tune for increased engine performance. The most recent service in April of 2022 included an oil and filter change, new differential and transmission fluid, and replacement of the shifter bushings, selector rod, lever bushing, ball cup joint, and coupling washers. Other services completed between September and October of 2021 involved a four-wheel alignment and corner balance, rebuilt torque tube, a new power steering belt, rear main seal, and engine compartment liner.
This sale will include a clean title.

Hello to all bidders. I am available if you have any questions. This C4S is truly a unicorn based on its outstanding condition and equipment/options. One will be hard pressed to find such an example.

@GVRacer Thank you for the conversation we had. I hope you enjoy the video and note the paint meter sheet posted in the pictures.
Are you able to post pictures of the paint meter readings?
Also, are you able to post a video doing a walkaround of the car and of its interior?
Did you apply a ceramic coating to the car?
Thank you in advance,
G

@Analog_911 good morning
The faces only were changed by a previous owner. I do not have the black faces.
Ref the single mass flywheel, installed by the previous owner, it has been confirmed to me that it is required to have the performance DME in conjunction.
@FLPcar - About the white instrument dials recently installed: Were the original instruments replaced with new instruments, or were the black faces of the original dials simply replaced with white faces? Do you have the original black faces?
Also, I'm not much familiar with the :RS Clubsport single mass lightweight flywheel", nor the "Protomotive DME tune", so I'm wondering, does the installation of the lightweight flywheel require the Protomotive DME tune? I'm thinking that without the Protomotive DME tune, the lightweight flywheel might promote stalling, under certain circumstances.
Finally, does the Protomotive DME tune include a chip, and what does the chip accomplish?
@cec Thank you for your questions. My answers are below:
Can you explain the paint meter reading? on the hood, the red area, in your picture, was the meter reading after the clear bra or before? After clear bra, readings are consistent with original paint. Also do you have the stock suspension? No. why has the sunroof been repainted? I do not now if it was, only because during the new felt being installed recently no evidence was show. Maybe it was done when built? Final quality check?!

I am really curious to see where this auction will go. This 4S is an absolute beauty in gorgeous condition with low miles! I wish I was able to bid on it myself...
@rak1161 As I am only the most recent owner I cannot state factually the history of number of owners. I believe (without stating facts) the number to be lower . It is my understanding that the original owner (listed as 1 & 2 in NC) purchased it under his company than transferred to his person. (listed 3 NC) a dealer had the car and sold the car to (listed 4 NC) an owner, (listed 5,6 &7) appears to be the same owner due to the MN title number being the same, (listed 8 VA) an owner, (listed 9 NY) an owner who may have traded it for a Ferrari, (listed 10 MA) the person in MA I purchased the car from. So in the end it appears that the actual owners throughout its 26 years may be 7 inclusive of me (if you remove no.3 a dealer). So that leaves the successful bidder as "Lucky number 8". The bottom line... this nicely optioned car has been cherished and used lightly by each owner and as you can see, it is truly magnificent.
Beautiful car. Has it really had 12 owners?!
I know the seller very well and I can say without hesitation that he is a perfectionist and owns only the best of the best cars. I am also a long time Porsche owner and this particular car is stunning and in amazing condition. If I didn’t already own several cars I would love to own this car. Good luck to the bidders. You won’t be disappointed!

@Msolei I have just downloaded the invoices and have asked PCAR to post them.
@Msolei Thank you for your questions.
I will post invoices for the recent work today.
Why am I selling? I may or may not be unique in what I have to say. I am a total car nut, having had this addiction since I was a small boy. I have had 100’s of sports cars throughout the years and currently have a small collection of very fine cars. I am constantly getting a bug for something new, and when I do, as a perfectionist, I seek out the best example I can find in order to experience the thrill of that make and model. Once in hand I look to see how to improve upon it, by looking at all details and addressing them to my high standards. Currently I have additional Porsches incoming and am offering this car now… and I have a similar condition 964 Turbo being offered out of my collection.
@Tgilbert Thank you. I replied to your DM
I'm interested in looking at the car in person, can we arrange a s=time for me to see the car?
Beautiful car.
- Can you please post the invoices for recent work, particularly the 30 K?
- Why are you selling just a few months after acquiring?
Fantastic car, well documented. I will be watching this one closely! GLWS!
I have seen this specific car several times in person. I can fully confirm the description given by the seller - it is not only looking gorgeous imho, especially wearing the aero package, but the condition overall is immaculate! Good luck with the sale!
I welcome all interested bidders. I am pleased to offer my exemplary example C4S to you. This car has been well cared for its entire life as shown by it overall condition. Most recently myself and the previous caretaker, both perfectionists, have brought the car to a very high level and this C4S certainly receives a lot of complements.
