We are pleased to offer this 1997 Porsche 993 Carrera Coupe finished in Pastel Yellow over a black interior. In addition to sporting a rare exterior paint color, this 1997 example features a desirable 6-speed manual transmission with an optional limited-slip differential (220) and Automatic Brake Differential (224). It is said to have been well cared for throughout the years by three previous owners who had kept extensive maintenance records dating as far back as 2006. Within the last several years under the current ownership, some considerable items were addressed including new front brake pads and rotors, service of the A/C system, and installation of new Koni shock absorbers. Currently showing just over 68k miles on the odometer, this eye-catching 993 is now being offered for auction by its seller out of California.
This 993 is presented in the rarely seen shade of Pastel Yellow and the seller describes the paint to remain entirely original, detailed images are provided in the photo gallery along with paint meter readings and a clean CARFAX report. Designed by Tony Hatter, the 993 generation features wider wheel arches and a smoother bumper design compared with its predecessors. This Carrera retains factory 17” Cup 2 wheels featuring optional colored Porsche center crests and Michelin Pilot Sport tires.
Inside, the black partial leather interior has been modified with custom yellow instrument dials and black velour carpet floor mats with yellow Porsche lettering. Factory equipment includes power-adjustable front seats, cruise control, an electric sunroof, and a 6-disc CD changer. The A/C was serviced in September of 2019 with a new evaporator expansion valve and compressor. The original Becker CR-210 radio remains in place and all gauges and accessories are said to be working properly.
Powering this 993 is an air-cooled 3.6L flat-six Varioram engine that generates up to 282 HP. The rear wheels are driven through a 6-speed manual transmission with a factory optioned limited-slip differential (220) and Automatic Brake Differential (224). A major update for the 993 generation was the implementation of a new alloy multi-link rear suspension which dramatically improved handling while also providing better ride quality. Service records are said to accompany the sale dating back to 2006, and the seller reports that the front brake pads and rotors were replaced in March of 2019 at 64k miles along with the installation of new Koni shock absorbers.
This sale will include the original spare tire, jack, toolkit, and a clean title. This well-appointed 993 Carrera is an excellent choice for any air-cooled Porsche enthusiast, do not miss your chance to get behind the wheel.

@Ryanonarcher No, it was an after market whale tail. I replaced it with the original OEM rear deck lid which came with the car and it fully functions at highway speed.
Is the Whale Tail that the car was purchased with available?

The Inspection Report and all the service records have been uploaded. PCARmarket will add them to the gallery very soon. Please contact me if you have any questions. Thank you.
@aterpins Thank you, the color pops when the sun is out. The car gets good amount of attention because of the color. I really think these pictures don't really represent the beautiful color of the car. Also, the sun wasn't completely out when we were taking pictures.
Yes, I replaced the seat covers with genuine leather.
@jstoll Thank you! The gauges came with the car when I got it. The Yellow color of the gauges really compliments the color of the car.
@BlueTTop The bumper was not repainted or touched up in any way. The reason the bumper has a bit of a darker shade because the bumper had a clear bra on for many years and I had to remove it because the clear bra was coming off on the corners.
@wutanec Yes I did. The reason I'm selling because I have too many cars and I need to tone it down a bit. I'm an avid enthusiast and a collector of rare and vintage Porsche and BMW vehicles. I'm actually planning on selling between 3-4 of my cars within the next couple of months. Stay Tune!
Was the front bumper repainted? It seems to be a darker shade of yellow.
Hello @siabond26. Did you recently purchase this car from Euromotion?
Beautiful car. Need to know more about the gauges. They look like they are circa 964. Bring me up to date.
Unique color indeed. Love it. Did you or the former owner replace the seat covers?
Hi Everyone,
Thank you for taking the time to look at this gorgeous and rare 1997 Pastel Yellow Porsche 911 Coupe (993 C2). It's a very beautiful color and the car shines on a sunny day. I think Porsche only made the Pastel Yellow color in 1997.
I will upload a recent Inspection Report with all the extensive service records from 2006-present. The car is in great condition and drives excellent.
Please don’t hesitate to contact me with any questions you might have. Thank you.
LOVE this color, GLWA!
