Finished in Arena Red Metallic over a Cashmere Beige interior, this 1997 Porsche 993 Carrera Cabriolet features an air-cooled 3.6-liter engine paired with a 6-speed manual transmission and an optional limited-slip differential. It also includes 18” 911 Turbo-look wheels, an optional Automatic Braking Differential (ABD), 8-way power seats, cruise control, and aftermarket speakers. Serviced in 2024 and with approximately 73k miles showing on the odometer, this final generation air-cooled 911 is now being offered for auction out of Arizona.

This Carrera Cabriolet is finished in Arena Red Metallic, a desirable paint color strongly associated with the 993 generation. It features a power-operated black cabriolet roof, headlamp washers, power-adjustable mirrors, a speed-activated rear spoiler, dual exhaust outlets, and 18” 911 Turbo-look wheels. The convertible top is said to benefit from recently replaced motors. The seller notes some scratches on the wheels and the tires are over 10 years old. Scratches are also noted beneath the front bumper with cracked rubber door handle seals, minor paint touch-ups, and other small imperfections around the exterior. The CARFAX report shows an accident with damage to the rear in 2006, and the rear bumper is said to have been replaced as a result.

The Cashmere Beige and Black partial leather interior includes matching carpet floor mats, optional 8-way power-adjustable front seats, a four-spoke black leather steering wheel, air conditioning, cruise control, a Becker Porsche CDR-210 stereo, aftermarket speakers, and a NIYEVIN magnetic phone mount. The seller indicates creasing on the front seats and some signs of wear on the interior trim and touchpoints.

Rated at 282 HP and 250 lb.-ft of torque, the air-cooled 3.6-liter flat-six engine drives the rear wheels through a 6-speed manual transmission and an optional limited-slip differential. The seller states an oil and filter change was completed in March 2024 along with replacements of the brake fluid, clutch fluid, and windshield washer fluid. The CARFAX report shows some additional maintenance history dating back to 2003.

This sale will include a clean title.

@fjinva, I totally understand. Sorry, I haven't had access to a lift yet. I am hoping to get it on a lift today, and will post those photos as soon as I get them.

Is there any way to get pics underneath the car? Damage and corrosion are both big issues for me. I imagine others as well. I’m very interested. TIA

  • fjinva (registered bidder) 1 month, 1 weekago

@ajmaranto, I look forward to seeing those repaint meter readings. Can we see pictures underneath the car? Thanks.

  • ajmaranto (seller) 1 month, 1 weekago

@IslaTurbine, The top up photos have been posted.

@fjinva, we have posted a photo of the open gas filler as well as the paint meter readings around the entire car. We don't know about the rear end damage. It was before our time of owning the car, and we weren't given any information on it. We do not have a compression test. There is no oil leaking or seeping.

  • fjinva (registered bidder) 1 month, 1 weekago

I also recall from the BaT auction a question about a repaint. There was a photo from the open gas filler that showed overspray. Can we get paint meter readings please. TIA.

  • fjinva (registered bidder) 1 month, 1 weekago

@ajmaranto do you know any more about the rear end damage from the accident? Can we get pictures under the car? Especially the rear where the metal might be folded from the accident. Do you have leak down or compression results? Where is any oil leaking or seeping? TIA

  • ajmaranto (seller) 1 month, 1 weekago

@logi0643, absolutely, we would be happy to show you the car. Please send a message to us via the "Contact Seller," button and we would be happy to coordinate with you to see the car.

@Spokayman, we've had the car for about 18 months or so.

  • Spokayman (registered bidder) 1 month, 1 weekago

In addition to the recent Cars & Bids auction this car was auctioned on the Bring a Trailer site last year. Did not meet reserve.
@ajmaranto, how long have you had the car?

  • logi0643 (registered bidder) 1 month, 1 weekago

I’ll be in Scottsdale next week. Can I come by and see it?

  • ajmaranto (seller) 1 month, 1 weekago

Thank you to everyone coming to our auction. We are listing our 1997 Porsche 993 Carrera 6-Speed. We had it listed on C&Bs, and we "sold" it. Unfortunately, the buyer could not come up with the funds, so it's up for sale. Please let me know if you have any questions, and I will be available until the end of the auction, and will answer all your questions as best as I can. Good luck to all bidders, and hope someone will enjoy this car!

  • ajmaranto (seller) 1 month, 1 weekago

@cappy1998, That is correct, it was on C&Bs, but it did not officially sell. Unfortunately, the winner of that auction could not come up with the funds, so we re-listed it here.

@Mark32137, that is correct. Unfortunately, the sale didn't materialize.

@IslaTurbine, We have several photos of the top, and with the top up - I will make sure those get added soon. The top is in fantastic shape. We also replaced the motors recently for the convertible top functionality, so it goes up and down very well. There is a video of the top going up and down.

  • IslaTurbine (registered bidder) 1 month, 1 weekago

No pics of the top or of the car with the top up?

  • Mark32137 1 month, 1 weekago

It appears to be the same seller so likely the sale didn’t materialize at the 50k mark. Seller? Buyer? We may never know but to me 50k is a low number for this car. I wouldn’t have let it go for that.

  • Cappy1988 (registered bidder) 1 month, 1 weekago

Was this car just listed and sold on C&b? Why is the car being listed so quickly?
