@Captbillturbo Congrats to both parties. I think a very fair price for this 993.
Thank you, and I'm sure likewise. Have owned several P-cars over the years, and regularly help others both buy & sell, especially the Luft 911s. Best regards, and have a safe and happy 4th, everyone
@pnwdave Congratulations!
@pwndave Congratulations!
so how long after the auction has ended are you able to bid???
Sold for $61,000
Bid in the amount of $61,000
@06CaymanS work at a Porsche dealership and you'll see the full range. People who record every tank of gas to people who don't know where their owners manual is. Saying which one is "responsible" is arbitrary. Cars don't represent the same thing to all people but if they can afford it then they can have it. 'Murica
What a stunning 993. And the right price for all parties

@Kylesjillian Thank you very kindly. That is my sentiments exactly. And you’re right there are more things to be looking at with my car then paperwork. Thank you for being awesome and thank you for your bid
Bid in the amount of $51,000
@Whatever123 So? move on and base your decision on all the info that's available.
Its always nice to have more paperwork but theres a lot more important and obvious determining factors to substantiate the value of a 993. different conversation on a 356. Requires more history and knoweldge for sure.
@Kylesjillian Silly rhetoric? Not really. I bought a 356 years ago from a guy who claimed full paperwork was in his attic. Some 10 years later still waiting for it. Glwta!!
Bid in the amount of $50,000
Guys. Keep this silly rhetoric going about how you are so diligent with record keeping. Hahaha
Please keep going.
@Marta_is_me Thanks. Just received a call from Pcar - all is in order with clear title and more details on the situation. Best wishes, and new owner will be very pleased with this very special 993 Cab. Cheers, and happy 4th!
I have all the paperwork I just have to find it however it’s not gonna happen today and it’s not gonna happen in two hours and four minutes. So the car stands on its own as an incredibly gorgeous luxurious rare specimen to own.
@06CaymanS Completely agree. Will ultimately affect final bid/value of this beautiful 993 Cab
@06CaymanS Couldn’t agree more!!! Some people see that as fanatical, I see it as prudent, and will/can effect sale price. I love this car btw!!!
06CaymanSjust now
At the risk of stating the obvious, keeping detailed records is part of responsible car ownership. It demonstrates unequivocally that the car has been properly maintained and cared for during your time of ownership. Until I read this thread, I had never come across Porsche owners who failed to do so. This car is beautiful, and the Carfax report does indicate that the vehicle has been serviced regularly , but as a long time Porsche owner, I find it very surprising that the owner didn’t keep any records at all.
@h993_cab4 That is my story to a T
Thanks again.

Bid in the amount of $43,500
Captbillturbo,
Regarding records, I bought my car new in '95 and the seller did the same in '97. I bought my 993 because I liked the looks of the car as did the seller. I never imagined, nor would I have any reason to believe that when I purchased my car that I would keep my car, let alone foresee that the 993 would be collectable. I paid the invoice and discarded the invoices after seven years as described in one of my earlier posts.
Many original privately owned Porsche dealers have been acquired by organizations that own multi "stores" and sell multiple brands. It's all about money. I know that the original dealer from which I bought my car new, also a Porsche dealer from a suburb of Philadelphia, fell victim to to an acquisition and my service records are not available. In fact, they have no clue who I am. The same occurred with the seller's original Porsche dealer.
You can read details in one of my prior post. The seller and I are not alone. We are both from Philly and our original dealers have since been acquired.
There seems to be some confusion regarding this car. I'm hoping this information clarifies the confusion. First, it is important that I disclose that I do not know the seller or the the seller's car. We have in common two things: We both live in Philadelphia and we both own Porsche 993's.
The sale is a private and the seller is not a dealer. The seller purchased the car new from Holbert's Porsche in Warrington, PA, a suburb of Philadelphia. Holbert's was a well known reputable Porsche Audi dealer and was sold to Porsche of Warrington.
The seller bought the car new from Holbert's. The seller is the original owner.
The seller, although residing in Philadelphia, garages the car outside Philadelphia. Anyone living in a densely populated city knows parking safely is difficult and costly as is insurance. Prospective bidders are asking for information that the seller is unable to obtain in advance of the auction deadline because of the remote garaging location. The seller lives in a multi family hi rise residential community. Unlike others, the seller cannot walk into a garage attached to a single family house and obtain information. This is a private sale by the original owner. Frankly, the owner never anticipated some of the questions being asked, beyond the seller's initial description of the seller's car.
The seller has provided paint meter readings and has guaranteed, something rarely seen, that the car has never been damaged or painted.
The seller has represented the car has 45,000 miles.
The seller has provided a clean CarFax report showing progressive mileage at each Pennsylvania State inspection. The seller's car is emissions exempt in Pennsylvania because cars driven less than 5000 miles annually are exempt from emissions. The seller has provided photographs of State inspection stickers performed June 2022 and the mileage is clearly visible.
The car is a one owner car being offered for sale privately, by the original owner, with the original radio, no stories, rare and unique Wimbledon Green color. The car is a Unicorn.
I hope that this information serves to clarify your concerns and further explains why some of the information requested is not readily available.
@Skye1 It’s at the bottom, BELOW the paint READINGS
Additional content has been added to the gallery for this listing.
Can you provide a better photo showing the mentioned wear on the drivers seat?
@GuyS I really do believe that in 2002 when you bought your car and you saw three other Wimbledon Green Porsche there was a salesman responsible for it if I am not mistaken was Vince Evans who is Long since retired. He has been a friend of mine and I bought my car from him in 1997 after I bought the very first of those 993’s in 1995.
@Captbillturbo Since I am unable to contact someone to talk about my car this is how I have to talk about it with one of the other bidders. He has very useful information for me and this is the only way I can get it. It’s all about how rare my car is. This is the last year of the 993‘s. It is 1 owner, me. Last year of the air cooled it is a convertible it is in magnificent shape it has very low mileage It is one of a kind and it will always be a one of a kind unicorn model. If you need any more information just send it through like you just did and I will try and help you understand whatever you need. In the end someone is going to get an incredibly gorgeous beautifully running low mileage very rare color and model Porsche 1997 993 Wimbledon Green metallic.
@Captbillturbo I am the original owner I am the seller and there are no records that I can find whether at the dealership that I purchased it from which is long gone or in my recordkeeping. You can look at the Carfax report it shows that there was service done it just does not itemize the service items. None of this should stop you from bidding.
I apologize but all the comments are very confusing to me. as I try to bid on the car
Is the seller the original owner of the car? Is it a private sale? And if so the seller does not have many records?
@h993_cab4 I was a chauffeur for a very wealthy real estate guy in Philly and Don Rosen was our neighbor. As well as all my records I can’t even take them up I know I received all the receipts but like you said after they change hands a couple times nobody keeps any of the old dealerships Records. I was actually amazed at the accounting in terms of services that Carfax has an order on my car
@h993_cab4 let us meet somewhere after the sale so that we can exchange information you tell me where and when I’m in the city Monday except this Monday through Thursday I’m at WATERFRONT SQUARE, Regatta Building. So let me buy you a coffee for all your help and let’s go from there you have been a pleasure and don’t stop with all your wonderful comments and your camaraderie until the auction is over
I bought my 993 new from Don Rosen Porsche in 1995. I have some records that I retained from 1996. Others were given to my bookeeper, paid and discarded after seven years. Don Rosen was acquired by Porsche of Conshohocken. I called Porsche of Conshohocken for records and they have nothing on my car prior to 2018. Employees who were familiar with my car are no longer employed.
Holbert's was a long term established Porsche Dealer. Holbert's was acquired by Porsche of Warrington several years ago. I'm sure similar circumstances occurred during the transition when Porsche of Warrington acquired Holbert's.
@GuyS I cannot find any more information with cars of that model that I have that year in Wimbledon Green.
@GuyS I love Hoberts. I actually became very good friends with his grandson. Who now runs 3 yards for Jackson Barrett Barrett Jackson? And he was very instrumental in steering me how to sell my car he still really good friend and I thank you so very kindly for your support and your kind words there will never be another Holbert’s
@h993_cab4 Hey Harry It seems that the guy that runs the site isn’t getting back to me so is there a link that you could send me he asked me if you high-end me or if you responded on the site and I think it was the response on the site
Interesting story about this color. In 1992, Holberts showroom had a 928 968 and 964 all in Wimbledon Green with color keyed wheels. I actually wound up owning the 964 purchasing it from Holberts in 2002 when it was traded in. The owner had an affinity for this color. They were good people there back then. Lots of history to that dealership. As the seller mentioned, it has changed hands a few times I the last 10 years. Great car! Good luck with the sale.
@Captbillturbo LOOKS LIKE DATE CODE ON TIRES IS 46/14
@1falco It’s getting close now you know things are gonna start to heat up.
@fc356 Site it is weird check the below Comment
@Captbillturbo Thank you for that information I really appreciate it I do not have access to the car I live in Philadelphia and the car is an hour and a half away from me at another location and that’s where its garage. I have the tires checked and there is no sign of dry rot or anything of that nature. I didn’t realize they were that old
Marta_is_me (seller) 37 minutesago
@Captbillturbo I won’t have the tire date right now and the auction will be over by then I just had an inspection and I posted there is 9/32 on the tires I believe I got them about three or four years ago and and that’s to my knowledge what I have right now.
LOOKS LIKE DATE CODE ON TIRES IS 46/14
@Captbillturbo I do not have the service records as I stated Holbert’s has changed hands four or five different times and they do not keep those records from the first dealership to the fourth dealership I do not have them sorry for the inconvenience.

Do you know when tires last replaced or the tire date?
Is it possible to post any major service invoices and details - to better understand what done and when.
Wow, this is an original owner, 45,000 mile, no story 993 Cabriolet, Wimbledon Green. I have never seen this color in my life.
Porsche manufactured 601 Cabriolet's for U.S. production in model years '95 and '98.
All of these factors make this a rare Cabriolet.
This car beats fireworks July 4th.
Good luck everyone somebody’s going to be a very lucky person she’s absolutely gorgeous if I do say so myself.
Bid in the amount of $42,500
Well based on ottorockets knowledgeable endorsement I will bid again. Love for this to be my 23rd Porsche since 1982.
Bid in the amount of $42,000
@Ottorocket Thank you so much for your kind words I really appreciate everything you’ve said. I really don’t wanna sell her but I really have to. Good luck with your car where are you from? Im in Philadelphia. What color is your car? I have been trying to find how many of the 993s in the cabriolet that were produced in 1997, 96 and 95 In my color. I can’t even get close enough to finding out how many year were made. Thanks again for you.
This is a fantastic cab, unique / rare color and appears to be great condition. Timed it perfectly with Wimbledon starting now. If I didn’t buy a 993 cab a month ago, I would be all over this. The new owner will be pleased. Good luck.
Bid in the amount of $41,500
@1falco apparently whenever you put in an emoji which I put in a smiley face and the watch it changes the emoji to?‘s. I hope that makes sense. In other words thank you very kindly for your very kind words I feel the exact same way and I can’t wait to see what happens!
@1falco THANK YOU!!!!! not?
@1falco THANK YOU ? for your kind words. ME TOO ????
To me a stunningly beautiful example. Right now quite under bid. I will be very interested to watch the bidding unfold.
@Captbillturbo You are very welcome anything else you need let me know

@Captbillturbo Hey Captain Bill Turbo I believe my car in motion is on the site shortly. Only the manager of the site can place videos. Thank you kindly
@Captbillturbo I’ll send it over now
Would it be convenient to have a driving video?
@Skye1 I had all of the oil seals replaced about 7 years ago and not a drop ever since.
@Skye1 no. And no
Any current fluid leaks? Is there a wind deflector included?
@Marta_is_me awesome. Thx.
@porsche_dreamer I returned the meter. I took the readings at Thompson Collision. Rick is the manager and knows my car for 25 years. He did body work on all my cars…..that never needed anything
@porsche_dreamer I GUARANTEE YOU it was never altered. No ACCIDENTS, ALL ORIGINAL PAINT 25 YEARS OLD
@Marta_is_me Thank again. Might you still have the meter so that you can measure all 8 panels? 2 doors, 2 fenders, 2 1/4 panels, roof and hood? I think you may have measured 3 or 4.
@porsche_dreamer at the bottom of the pictures

@Marta_is_me thank you
@porsche_dreamer I’m waiting for a friend to loan me his meter. I do I fact know and swear this paint has never been touched. I will update you with the meter readings and pictures
Beautiful car, seller!
Do you have paint meter readings?
Bid in the amount of $41,000
@Roma there is absolutely no rust anywhere on the car. She was always kept under cover in a temperature controlled environment and never left outside even for 1 day. If I did happen to be taking her out and it was a little sun shower or rain she’s such a thick coat of wax on her I just dry her off when it stopped raining and put her back in the garage. I hope this helps you
Would the Seller plz comment on any rust? THX
@Handsofstone you made me laugh
Lets get the party started!!!!
Bid in the amount of $40,000
Good luck everybody and this is the love of my life and if there are any questions you could ask them here
