Specified in rare Paint to Sample Riviera Blue over a Leather to Sample Provence Blue interior, this 1997 Porsche 993 Carrera 4 Cabriolet was initially delivered in Germany. It was generously configured with the X51 power package, 18” Technology wheels, stainless steel exhaust pipes, the HiFi Sound Package, Heated Front Seats Package, Power Seat Package, supple leather, extended leather interior trim, and more. Power comes from a 3.8-liter flat-six paired with a 6-speed manual gearbox and all-wheel drive. This RoW example reportedly remained under the care of its original owner until 2023 before being imported to the United States and registered to a single owner. Accompanied by extensive documentation, this rare 993 Carrera 4 Cabriolet is now offered for auction out of California while showing approximately 51k kilometers (~31,000 miles) on the odometer.
This 993 was custom-ordered in the rare shade of Riviera Blue through Porsche’s Paint to Sample program. Equipment also includes a black retractable soft top, a black leather boot cover, a Porsche wind deflector, a raised third brake light, and 18” Technology wheels fitted with Michelin Pilot Sport tires in 2021. Other features include European-specification side marker lights and clear corner lenses, silver Porsche-branded brake calipers, a speed-activated rear spoiler, and exclusively optioned stainless steel tailpipes. The bumper covers were refinished under previous ownership, and detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.
The cabin is appointed in Leather to Sample Provence Blue upholstery and features supple leather seats, a Special Leather-trimmed steering wheel, and a leather-covered shift knob, handbrake lever, and brake handle. Matching carpeting with leatherette edging lines the floors. Additional options include the Heated Front Seats Package, Power Seat Package, and HiFi Sound Package. Amenities also comprise air conditioning, a Porsche CDR-21 stereo, and a 6-disc remote CD changer. A list of equipment is provided below:
This example was factory-equipped with the coveted X51 power package, an option unavailable for US-specification Carrera 4 models. The package enhances performance with a 300-horsepower 3.8-liter flat-six engine, an increase of 15 horsepower over the standard model. Power is delivered to all four wheels through a 6-speed manual transmission, and a 92-liter fuel tank was additionally opted for. The seller notes that an oil change and brake system service were performed in 2021 under prior ownership.
This sale will include a clean title, owner’s manuals, a boot cover, a toolkit, a spare tire, an air pump, and a collection of documentation including service records and a Porsche Production Specifications certificate.
The seller would like you to know: "This PTS Riviera Blue C4 Cabriolet is such a unique build, especially with the X51 3.8L 300hp option. It is very well optioned with special wish Provence Blue interior, leather shift knob, flared rocket panels, technology wheels, just to name a few. The car has been meticulously maintained, fully dry-iced, and resealed underneath; the original paint looks phenomenal. The next custodian will be very pleased with this ultra-rare 100% original Riviera Blue X51 Cabriolet!"

@Vance911 this will be a private party sale
Beautiful car, sorry if I missed it - will this be a dealer or private transaction? Thank you
The car will SELL today, I have lifted the reserve. Highest bidder will be the new owner!!
@ptsbrewster yes, but it will need to get a CARB sticker first, there are labs that can help and I can connect if needed
@997M3 can this be titled/registered in California?
@ptsbrewster the car is currently titled in Arizona, but is stored in Santa Barbara.
@997M3
What state is the vehicle titled in?
Bid in the amount of $195,000
Cool car. I remember when it was listed by the original owner on Kleinanzeigen a couple of years ago for 169k Euro. Price has gone through the roof (that is not a cabriolet joke). GLWA

@FormulatedStudio absolutely, I am uploading a few detailed photos of the full shift knob and Porsche crest.
Also, I am adding a few photos of the Porsche branded tool roll to the gallery as well.
Can we get a better pics of the top of the shift knob & the crest on the shift knob? Pic #144 & #175 are both blurry.
Bid in the amount of $137,500
@jamesatwork it is his car look at his instagram earlier comment also confirmed that it is part of the collection. He just posted it in July and August it’s a 98. How many 993 in this spec do you think there are odds are almost impossible.
Bid in the amount of $135,000
@ACJ the X76 flared rocker panels are such a nice and rare addition. My favorite combo on these 993 with the X51 3.8L engine is the X54 oval stainless steel exhausts. It gives it more of a raw sound, and just the slightest burble when you lift off the gas.
I am really impressed with the overall condition of the car, and obvious when it's painted in Riviera Blue with Province Blue leather, you will not likely find another in this spec.
Bid in the amount of $130,000
@jamesatwork you are thinking of his black one.
@jamesatwork you don‘t remember correctly, it is his car for sure! This configuration is so nice and so unique. I remember this one since a long time and had the pleasure inspecting this car in PZ‘s garage.
BTW
There are not just the riviera blue and the X51 power pack as rare details, also X76 rocker panels ordered on the german purchase invoice and of course, this incredible provence blue LTS interior!
@eastxpcar if I remember correctly, PZ’s is a 1995. I remember because his is pre ODB II. I hope people are not biding on this car because they believe it is his car.
Bid in the amount of $125,000
@Por993 the Cabrio top mechanism works perfectly today, I believe the issues were stemming from 2005. I have driven the car with the top up at highway speeds and never had an issue with it not functioning correctly.
Bid in the amount of $110,000
Bid in the amount of $106,999
@eastxpcar Thank you! I love this car :)
@bobbyad1 Paul Zuckerman he is well know pcar collector. Host on Spikes Car Radio, good friend of Spike, and Jerry Seinfeld. This car is exceptional it should go for a nice dime.
Bid in the amount of $100,000
I recall that this car was purchased by Ryan Friedman a few years ago on BAT. It went for around $245,000, if I remember correctly.
The prior owner had persistent problems , over many years, with the locking mechanic of the Cabrio. It does not appear that a permanent solution was ever found. Please correct me if I am wrong.
Bid in the amount of $90,000
Who is PZ?
@perezduque yes I can confirm the AC is operational on all settings and blowing cold.
Is the AC operational and cold ?
Bid in the amount of $88,000

@Lendou paint is original, you can see the detailed paint meter photos. I'm told the front bumper had been refinished during its time in Germany. No rust seen on the car. Valet key included in sale - I am uploading a photo of it as well as the manuals and service book with stamps.
Please have a look at the Documents attachment for detailed German service history.
I am also adding a few photos of the car on my small lift. This car was previously offered for sale on another auction site, it had numerous photos of the undercarriage. That was about 2,000km ago and the car is still in the same overall condition.
Can the seller confirm that the paint is original and vessel is completely free of rust ? Also second keys / manuals available ?
@jrafpor - was his, yes
Bid in the amount of $85,000
Bid in the amount of $76,000
@Longclose I just uploaded the original invoice which shows the X76 Flared Rocker Panels option.

@bphillyer I'm told the US owner only had his private mechanic change the oil once. It has only been driven 2,000km since being imported in 2023.
@Longclose the rocket panels are original to the car. This car is 100% original.

@TJ993 thank you for the kind words! Extensive records (~100 pages) can be seen under the Documents attachment. I am uploading the CoA to the gallery now as well (don't mind the engine size typo, they're not used to the X51 3.8L option here in the USA).
Beautiful unique car! Thought my car had options! Wow! Perhaps for the uninitiated you could add a "coa" ? Alternatively, a Dealer print out of the options / build sheet would confirm. Extremely unique X51 C4 with turbo brakes? Best of Luck with your auction. TJ
Bid in the amount of $75,000
ROCKER PANEL DOES NOT LOOK ORIGIANL - CAN YOU COMMENT?
Lovely spec.
Do you have service records from its time in the States? Love HR! Good pics.
@GTSilver16 this Euro spec was specially ordered with the X51 power package option, which included a 3.8L engine and 300hp. X51 was not offered to the US market, and even in RoW cars is quite rare.
I think this is a 3.6 liter motor
@jrafpor yeah, it was part of a great collection!
Is this PZ’s car?
