The 1997 Land Rover Defender 90 NAS (North American Specification) is a rare and highly coveted model, produced in limited quantities exclusively for the U.S. market. This example, one of approximately 2,800 units imported that year, has undergone a comprehensive restoration and is now finished in Alpine White with a custom black leather interior. Enhancements include a full safari cage, off-road accessories, LED lighting, an Old Man EMU suspension, MagnaFlow exhaust, and much more. It is being offered for auction by its seller out of Florida while showing approximately 187k miles on the odometer.
Originally finished in Coniston Green, this Defender has been professionally refinished in Alpine White with a matching hardtop. Equipment includes a full safari cage, Voyager roof rack, LED lighting, dual 6” Hella fog lights, and a roof-mounted light bar. The front bumper is equipped with a SuperWinch Husky 10 winch and a WARN winch is fitted at the rear. Additional off-road enhancements include a safari snorkel, diamond-plate fender tops, a KBX grille and headlight surrounds, an aluminum lower skid plate, and tubular rock sliders. Aftermarket side mirrors with blind-spot detection have also been fitted. The truck rides on 16” beadlock wheels with BFGoodrich tires and a matching spare. Detailed images and a clean CARFAX report are available in the gallery.
The cabin features Exmoor trim grey front seat upholstery, along with two matching rear inward-facing “troop” seats. Red-stitched seatbelts and white/red LED lighting accentuate the interior, and a MOMO steering wheel has been fitted. The factory NAS-specific instrumentation includes a small tachometer and a digital speedometer. Additional equipment includes an Alpine double-din head unit, air conditioning, a reverse camera, and power windows. The seller adds that the original steering wheel will accompany the sale.
Power comes from a 4.0-liter V8 engine that delivers up to 182 HP and 233 lb.-ft of torque. All four wheels are driven through a 4-speed automatic transmission and a full-time four-wheel-drive system with a dual-range transfer case. The seller notes that the rear chassis cross member has been replaced. Aftermarket upgrades include an extended-range fuel tank, MagnaFlow exhaust, Old Man EMU suspension, a dual Optima battery setup, and a Terrafirma tubular shock tower, cranked front and rear trailing arms, & dislocation cones.
The sale will include a clean title, a car cover, the owner's manual, the original steering wheel, and off-road accessories such as two removable side-mounted fuel cans, a front-mounted shovel, two sets of Hella fog light covers, dual winches, and an extra set of original wheels.
The seller would like you to know: “Thank you for visiting our auction. This 97 NAS is well-running, with cold AC while maintaining the original 4.0LV8 / Auto. Comes with a car cover, the original set of NAS 'freestyle' wheels.”

yes it is the lowest priced for good reason, it needs a full cosmetic restoration and a galvanized frame.
Today the cost of restoration or reconditioning is astronomical and hard to get done in the normal time and frame and this one looks like it will need a lot
