The second-generation Dodge Viper (SR II) saw the introduction of the new GTS model in late 1996 as a fixed-roof version of the RT/10 Roadster featuring a more powerful 8.0-liter V10 engine. This 1997 example is finished in Viper GTS Blue and is currently offered on consignment by its second owner of over 20 years with less than 16k miles showing on the odometer.
The Viper GTS features a distinctively shaped “double-bubble” roof designed to accommodate passengers with helmets during track days. This example is finished in the debut color of Viper GTS Blue with dual white racing stripes. The car is comprised of composite body panels with fiber-reinforced skin over a tubular spaceframe. Features include a forward-hinged one-piece clamshell hood, “Aero Polyellipsoid” halogen headlights, fog lamps with removable lens covers, and 5-spoke 17” aluminum wheels. The seller states the car has not been subjected to track use and remains in very good overall condition, detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a CARFAX report showing an accident to have occurred in 1999.
The black interior includes premium leather high-back bucket seats, manually adjustable foot pedals, power windows, air conditioning, electronic keyless entry, and a 200-watt Alpine premium sound system. This GTS model was also the first Viper to receive airbags as standard equipment. The seller reports all gauges and accessories to be fully functional.
The SR II Viper GTS is powered by a naturally aspirated 8.0-liter aluminum V10 engine paired with a 6-speed BorgWarner T56 manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. Up to 450 HP and 490 lb.-ft of torque are sent to the rear wheels, accelerating the GTS from 0-60 MPH in approximately 4 seconds. There are no outstanding service items noted and the seller has provided the following history of service:

@KICKINGTIRES of course
@Exit5 Thank you for the details and confirmation!!
@KICKINGTIRES Thank you for reaching out and expressing interest! The current owner drivers the Viper a few hundred miles every year. It is 100% operational. The original owner actually provided the current owner two pictures of the damage from the accident. It involved the right (passenger) side of the rear spoiler and the tail light. Tall truck backed into the car and damaged it. All work was completed (receipts are in the current owner's possession) at Cahillane Dodge (no longer in business, was the original dealer, and where vehicle was purchased).
1st time with real interest (and for Seller) but did not see much or any inquiry or details related to the 1999 accident. Can the accident noted in the listing be identified or elaborated to describe the accident/repair/service? Assuming the car runs and handles perfectly (with an open question regarding the accident) is the Seller validating the vehicle is absolutely 100% operational with no handling or other defect, including the 1999 accident and or other use? Is the Seller willing to accept and guarantee there are no current or past defective condition(s) (unless noted within the listing) making the listing/transfer without any defect(s) at pick-up with a full inspection and drive? Thank you in advance.
Hello everyone! Good luck to all bidders on the next few hours
Tough to beat a clean B/W GTS. Just bad ass!
Beautiful! I grew up with a poster of a GTS (in Viper Red) on my bedroom's wall; next to a F-14 Tomcat.
