Introduced in 1996 as the first mass-production Z-Series sports car, the BMW Z3 is a nimble two-seater roadster based on the E36/5 3-Series compact platform. This 1997 example is finished in Arctic Silver Metallic over Black Oregon leather upholstery and features a 5-speed manual transmission paired with a 2.8-liter M52 inline-six engine. Showing approximately 26k miles on the odometer, this Z3 is now being offered for auction out of Oklahoma.
The Z3’s bodywork evokes classic BMW roadster styling with its fender vents, roundel badges, kidney grilles, and long front bonnet. This example is finished in Arctic Silver Metallic with a manually operated black convertible top. Other equipment includes chrome roll hoops, heated power mirrors, fog lights, dual exhaust tips, a rear fender-mounted antenna, and factory 17” Style 18 alloy wheels dressed in Goodyear Eagle Sport All-Season tires. Additional images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.
The cabin features Black Oregon leather upholstery with matching carpets and burl wood trim on the center console. Accessories include a two-tone steering leather wheel cover, a wood gear knob, heated seats, power windows, air conditioning, cruise control, an onboard computer, a wind defector, and a cassette stereo.
This Z3 is equipped with a naturally aspirated 2.8-liter M52B28 inline-six engine rated at 189 HP and 203 lb.-ft of torque. The rear wheels are driven through a 5-speed manual transmission and stopping power comes from disc brakes at each corner. The CARFAX report shows exhaust replacement in 2021 and an oil service in November 2023.

I have a 97 also. These seem the cosmetic and not structural roll hoops fyi. the real chassis mounted ones came with the 98 year cars from factory.
Simply gorgeous! The drilled front bumper is unfortunate, and the blue leather steering wheel cover odd, but getting harder and harder to find low mile examples of these. The straight six is pure silk!
