This 1997 BMW E36 M3 Coupe is a Japanese-market example finished in Estoril Blue Metallic over an Anthracite M Cross fabric interior. Featuring an S50 inline-six engine paired with a 6-speed manual transmission, this E36 is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Virginia with approximately 75k kilometers (46k miles) on the odometer.
This E36 is finished in the classic BMW color of Estoril Blue Metallic and features M3-specific bumpers, side skirts, and mirrors. Other details include aftermarket front splitters, a trunk lid spoiler, aftermarket xenon projector headlamps, fog lights, chrome kidney grilles, chrome trunk handle trim, painted exterior moldings, dual exhaust tips, and aftermarket 17” BBS alloy wheels. The seller indicates some paintwork was performed to address a scratch on the hood and the tires are over 10 years old.
Inside, this M3 features manually adjustable “Vader” sport seats in black Alcantara with Anthracite M Cross fabric on the seat centers and door panels. Accessories include a three-spoke M Sport steering wheel, a ZHP shift knob, M3-branded door sills, an M-branded instrument cluster, power windows and mirrors, an electric sunroof, dual-zone automatic climate control, a digital clock, a central locking system, and an aftermarket stereo. The seller describes the cabin as in excellent condition with all gauges and accessories working properly.
Benefitting from a significant increase in power compared to its S52-equipped U.S. market counterparts, this E36 M3 features a 3.2-liter S50 that delivers up to 321 HP to the rear wheels through a 6-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. An aftermarket air intake and muffler have been installed. The seller indicates the car was recently inspected and is in good running order with a collection of Japanese service records.
This sale will include owner’s manuals and a clean title.

no signs of smoking looks like all vins match
Please confirm if all the vin #'s are matching for the doors, hood rear hatch, front fenders. Also - can you locate the Fram #?
Are there any signs of it being smoked in?
Would it be possible to upload more pics of the underside of the car even if taken from the ground level.
Thank you

@Fearless I would need to think back, I think I sold it about 6-8 months ago, and it had been in the US for about another 6-8 months, at a dealer in Ohio.
@DuncanPreOwned NOT the seller here: Is it possible that you are looking at the little "plug" that snaps out to reveal the Tow Hook screw-in hole ?!?
headliner is good manual in Japanese no leaks visible I don't see any tape on bumper I will try to get some more undercarriage pix
Is there any sign of sagging in the head liner? What is the "tape" just above the exhaust on the rear. It appears in one picture, but not in another one. Is the manual written in Japanese (I assume)? Any valve cover leakage or any other signs of oil leakage anywhere else?
Do you have underside photos of rear suspension, pickup points, and subframe mounting?
imported earlier this year titled 2/24

Love the period correct-ness of this car. Iconic, reminds of something you'd see at HIN, even though it's very clean. Good luck to the seller.
under carriage looks dry no leaks no damage to belly pan shocks and springs look to be original

@DuncanPreOwned Thank you.
The smooth glass Hella Xenon lights are as imported , '' no spares'' , I will get a picture of the service performed in our shop and post it
It would also be helpful to know what services were done at the dealer, other than spark plugs. An international carfax would also be helpful, I can look up the name if that helps. Do you have any under body photo's?
Do the records give you any clue as to what was done and when? Thanks very much.
Do you have the OEM headlights? Sold my Japanese market 95 M3 here recently, in hopes of finding a 6 speed, so good luck to you.
It has a US title so I can't imagine any issues over a normal import process.
Any idea if I would be able to import it into Canada?
Imported in Tennessee in 2023 currently has clean Tennesse title Front splitter is an upgrade from stock PPI welcome also can provide recent services done in our shop
The front bumper fascia/splitter does not appear to be OEM; please comment. Thank you.
Would you please provide any background history you might have, such as: #of owners, when and by whom was it imported? Would you bee able to facilitate a PPI in Roanoke? Thank you!
hood only had a scratch that wouldn't buff out hood is original no other evidence of paint very clean and straight body
Is the (painted) hood still the original part (i.e., matching VIN tag)? Are there any non-matching VIN tagged panels and/or obviously painted areas?
