It was registered to its first owner in Missouri and spent time in Indiana before relocating to Florida where it was acquired by the second owner. In December of 2020, a thorough service was completed including a full maintenance inspection, a brake system flush, new tires, an alignment, oxygen sensors, motor mounts, a new clutch, flywheel, and more. Now showing approximately 137k miles on the odometer, this 1997 M3 sedan is being offered for auction at no reserve by its seller out of Florida.
The body is finished in Alpine White III (300) and features M3-specific bumpers, Luxury Package side skirts, and aerodynamic mirrors in addition to a decklid spoiler and a dual-tipped exhaust outlet. Equipment includes a slatted front grille on the lower front bumper, integrated foglights, tinted glass, and a power-operated sliding sunroof. The seller notes the front lip spoiler has a scuff on the driver’s side and the wheels show some curb marks, detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report. The 17” BMW Style 17 “M-Contour” wheels are mounted with Continental ExtremeContact DWS06 tires from 2020.

The E36 M3 is powered by a 3.2L S52 inline-six rated at 240 HP and 236 lb.-ft of torque. The rear wheels are driven by way of a 5-speed manual transmission and a mechanically locking limited-slip differential. The seller reports a service was completed in December of 2020 at BMW of Sarasota, including a full maintenance inspection, a flush of the braking system, and installation of a new clutch, flywheel, oxygen sensors, tires, a four-wheel alignment, new motor mounts, and new sway bar end links. In January of 2021, BMW of Sarasota also replaced the throttle cable and windshield washer pump.

The car was kept in Sarasota,FL and only driven during the winter months 6 months out of the year as a second vehicle. The water pump was replaced in January of 2021. A coolant flush was also performed at that time.
Given the mileage on this M3, why did you drive it so sparingly after acquiring in 2015? Also, has any preventative maintenance been completed on the radiator and/or water pump during your ownership? Thanks!
