This 1996 Porsche Carrera Cabriolet is being auctioned at NO RESERVE. The son of the current owner is selling the car for his father who has owned it for over 11 years. The unique Aventurine Green exterior is complemented by a tan/black leather interior.
The Carfax states there have been a few light/moderate incidents regarding damage to the vehicle, however, the seller states that none of the damage was major and that the integrity of the car is very much intact.
The all original interior is in above average condition for its age and mileage. Aside from light wear, seen in the photo gallery, all components of the interior are in working order. The car is complemented by a newly installed convertible top with cover.
As the photos in the gallery show, the car presents itself well aside from some rock chips and light curb rash on the original 5-spoke Cup 2 Sport wheels
Power comes from a 3.6L flat-six engine producing 285HP and 243 lb. ft Torque, which is connected to a 6-speed manual gearbox. The engine is in great running condition and received a top end rebuild only 3k miles ago. While at the shop, the Carrera also received new hood and decklid struts and a new clutch. According to the seller there is currently a dash light illuminated, which was confirmed by a technician to be an air injection issue.
In 2007, the Carfax shows a mileage discrepancy of 30k miles. Today, the odometer reads 81,625 miles but would be considered TMU. (127k miles if you consider mileage discrepancy).
All in all this is a solid and good running 993 cabriolet. The sale will include a clear title, books, tools, keys, and records of service and top-end engine rebuild.

So you have non records before you dad purchased this car ? And when did your dad purchase this car ?

Bid in the amount of $19,950
@nebraskablackshirts Okay; to our knowledge the car has never been towed as a result of an accident. (Full disclosure my father has gotten older and does not remember as well as he used to). My mom said he was hit while parked in the front and back and once when he wasn't even in the car (someone backed into the car)...
@thomasnickles3 Completely understand as I think a lot are no longer doing “true” business on feebay. Regarding the accidents did the Porsche have to be towed and what were damages that it occurred from accident or parts replaced.
@nebraskablackshirts Yep. I had it up on Ebay for $39,999 but it never sold. There were so many scammers that we decided to go with PCARMARKET. Much better group of people here in my opinion!
Regarding the accidents, was the vehicle towed away at each accident or was it drivable?
Also seen this car has been on eBay a few times and sold at its last listing, did the buyer back out and if so why?
Thanks
@job Good morning and thanks for touching base. The odometer was "rolled" by the owner before my dad bought it. This is highlighted on the Carfax so hopefully you can see it there. As for records, yes...we have all service records since my father has owned the car.

@JBoxerGT2 couldnt agree more! Porsches are meant to be driven! This is a perfect example of a Porsche you can drive and enjoy and take for long trips. love hearing this because too many times are they just parked. #getoutanddrive!
To the seller :
How do you explain this mileage discrepancy ? Any other papers from maintenance services ?
@thomasnickles3 See if he will sell it to you. Maybe it has sentimental value having it but not so much as in maintaining it or driving it. A friend of mine, his brother passed away 5 yrs ago and he owned a 1981 911SC. Well his sister in law has left it parked in the same location her husband left it , in the garage or driveway and has been rotting away for the last 5 years. My friend has tried to buy it from her, to get it running, clean it up , and drive it in memory of his brother, but she won't budge. If my wife passed away oh, the last thing I would want to do is let her car sit there rot and decompose to death. I will keep the car running take it to shows in her memory , let other people enjoy it looking at it, asking about it ,talking about it ,keeping her memory alive with the car, that's what I would do. I think that would be the right thing to do.
@JBoxerGT2 My best friend has a 1972 911 with a 930 engine...sits in a garage and he hasn't driven it in over a year...
@thomasnickles3 Perfection is boring. Evidence of use, patina and miles shows the car has been enjoyed, driven as it was ment to be, right? Not a caged beauty that sees a Cars and Coffee event once a month or out for an ice cream on a sunny day.
A steal for driver quality and more if it sells for $20k or so. Still plenty of time left to bid.

@nebraskablackshirts I spoke with our mechanic and it sounds like it's most likely just a bit of carbon build-up. The engine was rebuilt and now has only a few thousand miles on it. After driving it for the last few months, whatever it is that makes the light come on does not impact the fury of the engine because the car flies...
aventurine green looks awesome on this car. whoever wins auction in a couple of days is going to get a good deal for sure and have fun fixing this up and even flipping it!

Regarding the Air Injection issue for the check engine light, will this car pass emission testing? Sounds like this could be a carbon buildup on the valves that can cause these errors. Did the shop that diagnosed this check engine light give a bid for cost to fix? Curious if this would be an engine out service.
Also how much oil does the car burn between changes?
this model is so popular right now. and because this one isn't perfect but is still such a great car, you can actually enjoy it. glwa

@nebraskablackshirts Thanks for touching base. To our knowledge there is zero rust. It’s really a good car (not perfect though) and extremely fun to drive. I’ll miss that smooth engine sound.
