We are pleased to present this 1996 Porsche 993 Turbo finished in Guards Red over a black leather interior.  Debuted with a new twin turbocharged flat-six engine displacing 3.6 liters, the 993 series saw the final iteration of the air cooled 911 Turbo.  Originally purchased in Manhattan before being sold to an individual in Germany, this 1996 example has undergone over $25k worth of recent service within the past two years.  Highlighting sought after details including Sport Seats with painted backrests and white instrument dials, this 993 Turbo is now being offered for auction by a seller in Germany in brilliant overall condition while displaying approximately 92k kilometers (57k miles) on the odometer.

Having received a recent full detail, the Guards Red finish on this 993 shows to be in excellent condition (detailed images are provided in the photo gallery).  This Turbo can be identified by its widened fenders, revised nose and distinctive body-colored rear spoiler.  The factory 18” hollow-spoke Turbo Twist wheels have been recently refinished and are currently dressed in Pirelli P-Zero tires from 2018.

This 993 showcases a well-maintained black leather interior featuring Sport Seats with Guards Red painted seat backs.  Other noteworthy details include red seatbelts, white faced instrument dials, a leather dashboard, fire extinguisher and rear window wiper.  All gauges and accessories are stated to be fully functional.

This 993 carries an air cooled 3.6L twin turbocharged flat-six engine rated at 408 HP and 398 lb.-ft of torque from the factory.  Power is distributed to all four wheels by way of a smooth 6-speed manual transmission making for a 0-60 time of approximately 4.4 seconds and a top speed of over 180 MPH.  Within the past 2 years the seller notes that an engine-out service was performed at a cost of over $25k which included the installation of a new ECU, two new OEM turbochargers and a new clutch.  Offered with a collection of service records indicating routine maintenance, this 993 is reported to be in ideal driving condition.

The sale of this Turbo will include service records, the original books and one master key.  Marking the final generation of the air cooled 911 Turbo, this beautifully appointed 993 is a Porsche enthusiast’s dream.

@meridian1466 Again, the car was originally sold new in the US. It is already a US-spec car.

Hi, I believe that since this car is not yet 25 years old it would be subject to all Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards before being released from customs. Bumpers and such would need to be added and the car would need to be raised to US specifications. Can you confirm this? Thanks

@anabhan The car was bought brand new and exported to Europe, so the conversion was done immediately upon entry. All service records are done in kilometers. There is also a stamp on the service records of the conversion. The moment the car entered Europe it was converted to kilometers from miles.

@912harley All original with the exception of a respray 6 years ago. I will add some of the images I have of the engine bay, but the air filter obstructs the view a bit

Is there documentation of the odometer/speedometer swap? It looks like the speedometer / odometer currently read in kilometers, although as US-spec car that would have been delivered with calibration in miles. The early service record stamps from Poland are at appropriate intervals for miles, and a bit ahead of service schedule in kilometers.

At least here in the US, odometer swaps are heavily regulated and documented. Do you have documentation here?

    Is the 993 all original?
Do you pictures of the engine?

Unfortunately, this statement below is not true.
"since the car is a US-spec car, there is no 2.5% duty tax in this case"
Only if you are the one who exported the vehicle from the US to Germany and then are re-importing the car are you exempt from US duty. Otherwise, you will pay 2.8% duty on the sale prices of the vehicle. Trust me, I have been there before.

@Cgt000 Yes the car had a bit of paint work done about 6 years ago. In terms of the importing process, we will work with you to ensure the sale goes smoothly. The car will be shipped in the buyer's name. All paperwork will be completed in Germany so the car arrives in the US as yours. This usually takes 10-14 days. We also encourage buyers to write up their own legal agreements so they feel safe and secure.

  • Cgt000 (registered bidder) 4 years, 4 monthsago

Hello. Beautiful car. Any paint work done to the car? How many owners? How would one be guaranteed to receive the title while wiring funds overseas?

  • GermanStandard (seller) 4 years, 4 monthsago

@abacpm Thank you for your interest. We will handle all of the details when it comes to importing to the US as this is our specialty. It is normally around $1,000 to ship to the US, and since the car is a US-spec car, there is no 2.5% duty tax in this case. Again, because this car was originally sold new in the US, the importing process will be much easier than if it was a Euro-spec car.
