Up for auction is this 1996 Porsche 993 Targa finished in Black over a Black leather interior. One of the less common air-cooled Porsche models with only 462 examples delivered to the U.S. for 1996, this Targa features some noteworthy factory options including aluminum interior trim, pleated leather front and rear seats, stainless steel exhaust pipes, and a refined Tiptronic auto transmission. This rare 993 Targa is now being offered by its seller in Georgia while showing just over 49k miles on the odometer.
With a paint correction recently carried out, the Black finish on this 993 is said in great overall condition. Some minor pitting has been indicated below the weather stripping on the passenger-side rear quarter window and the seller reports that the driver’s side front and rear fenders have been previously refinished (detailed images are provided in the photo gallery). The 993 generation debuted a completely redesigned Targa top system which uses an electrically operated sliding glass roof. This new system eliminated the inconvenience of having to store the top when not in use. Some features include optional stainless steel exhaust pipes and factory Cup 2 wheels which have been recently dressed in new BFGoodrich tires.
Inside, this Targa highlights a Black leather interior showcasing optional pleated leather front and rear seats, stainless steel door sills, aluminum instrument dials, and a gear selector with aluminum trim. Other features include 8-way power-operated seats, cruise control, Tiptronic buttons for the steering wheel, and an onboard computer. Modifications equipped for this example included a vintage K40 integrated radar detector and an Alpine CD radio paired with Cerwin Vega speakers and a Kenwood X1 amplifier. The Targa top was previously repaired at a cost of approximately $1,700. All gauges and accessories are said to be working properly, although some of the instrument dials exhibit blistering and the LCD screen is said to have a few missing pixels.
As the final air-cooled 911 Targa, this 993 is equipped with a 3.6 L flat-six Varioram engine which sends 282 HP to the rear wheels by way of a 4-speed Tiptronic automatic transmission. This example underwent a recent inspection by an independent Porsche specialist and the seller indicates this 993 to be in superb driving condition with all routine service up to date.
This sale will include 1 master key and 1 remote key fob, an original warranty and customer information booklet, a recent service invoice, and the original jack, toolkit, and spare tire.

@Pnut964 - The vehicle had aftermarket dated wheels when it came in, but the current wheels are authentic cup 2's.
Are these different wheels than what came with the car from the factory? I thought 993 Targas had 2 piece wheels.
