One of only 462 examples sold in the United States for the model year, this 1996 Porsche 993 Carrera Targa comes finished in Black over a Cashmere Beige interior and was factory optioned with a limited-slip differential as well as factory-exclusive Light Rootwood and stainless steel trim pieces. It was recently refinished at a cost of over $15k and is now being offered for auction by its seller out of New Mexico showing just over 85k miles on the odometer.
The 993 introduced a Targa top system consisting of a green-tinted laminated glass roof that could be slid beneath the rear window or covered with an electrically retractable sunshade. This example is said to have recently undergone a complete repaint in its original Black (L741) color by a Porsche-certified autobody shop with all new rubber moldings fitted along with a new windshield. The brake calipers are painted red and the car rides on a set of 18” BBS two-piece wheels in gloss black with new Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires. The original 17” wheels are also said to accompany the sale. Additional images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.
Inside, this Targa sports a Cashmere Beige and Black partial leather interior including optional supple leather seats, exclusive stainless steel door entry guards, and Light Rootwood trim for the shifter and brake lever. An aftermarket Pioneer radio has been installed and the seller describes the cabin to be in good overall condition with minor signs of wear. The factory specifications label on the underside of the hood lists the following original equipment codes:
An air-cooled 3.6-liter flat-six engine sends up to 282 HP to the rear wheels by way of a 6-speed manual transmission paired with an optional limited-slip and automatic braking differential (ABD). The CARFAX report includes some maintenance history and shows the car to have been cared for by the same owner in New York from 1996 up until 2019. The seller adds that all routine maintenance has been kept up to date.
This sale will include a clean title.

@Ech33 It was not paid by insurance. The carfax is clean. You can call Carcrafters to confirm if need be
@mateobrian One last question, in the receipts for the body work it says it was paid by insurance? Was the vehicle in an accident? Thx
@Ech33 That’s correct. Sean Guthrie who owns Car Crafters, is an avid collector of Porsche. He recommended we change gaskets and windshield since it was already a full strip down paint job.
So the new rubber and windshield were also related to the wrap removal?
@Ech33 Hello! The car had been wrapped by the previous owner. When I purchased the vehicle I wanted the original color of black. Upon removing the wrap I realized it had stripped the clear coat.
And yes, the vehicle comes with original wheels and brand new tires
Why the full repaint? Do you have the original wheels? Thx
