When introduced, the 993 RS was celebrated for its build quality, looks, and handling characteristics. Most people who have driven the RS say that it’s the ultimate experience in rawness and purity. What’s even more amazing is how the design of the car blends seamlessly with the driving experience.
The 1996 Porsche 993 Carrera RS being auctioned here is just 1 of only 1,104 examples created. Only 839 left hand drive non-club sport models were manufactured for worldwide sales, making it one of the rarest models ever produced by Porsche.
This stunning RS is finished in Polar Silver and has been driven just 21,056 miles (33,887K) from new. The car was sold new in Japan, where it spent most of its life until it was sold and transported to Canada in 2014. In 2018, the car was federalized for sale to the US and transported to the current owner and seller. Mileage stamps in the photo gallery show consistent service history from a Porsche Dealership in Japan up until the RS’s transportation to Canada. Additional service history is shown along with mileage during its time in Canada until its export to the US. The current owner, a large car collector, has driven the car sparingly since taking ownership in January 2018. The car has been pampered and stored in a climate controlled garage.
The exterior is in absolutely stunning condition with paint protection film covering the front hood, fenders, bumper, and mirrors. The instantly recognizable RS wing is also in like new condition. All panels are original to the car and the factory Speedline wheels are in excellent condition with no curb rash.
The black interior is highlighted by the iconic two-tone black/gray lightweight sport seats. In typical RS minimalist fashion, the car features weight saving elements/features such as RS door panels, rear seat delete, and sunroof delete. Porsche reduced further weight by deleting the headlight washers, sound insulation, accent panels, and plush carpeting (thinner carpeting was utilized). The car is completely stock aside from the upgraded radio unit.
Power comes from a race-bred 3.8-liter flat-six engine developing 292HP and 262 lb-ft torque. The car is equipped with a 6-speed Type G50/31 short-ratio gearbox, propelling the RS to 60 mph in under 5 seconds with a top speed of over 170 mph.
Tony Hatter, designer of the Porsche 993, broke the mold by designing a Porsche no one had seen before. This was a bold new design that Porsche was concerned about at first. However, the 993 RS ended up being one of the most beautiful Porsches ever built. It was and still remains to be the ultimate iteration of the naturally aspirated air-cooled Porsche.
The sale will include a binder of all service records and documentation, books, tools, and keys.

Meter readings will be posted by tomorrow morning. Thank you.
@tstafford Thank you for your inquiry. The car has originated in Japan and then sold to Canada and then bought into United States. The car is in Concourse show condition both inside and out. I am an avid collector with a very large Collection. Since under my ownership this vehicle has been kept in a climate controlled garage all services are fully up-to-date. I have forwarded paint meter readings to P car. From what I have been told from the prior owner is while the car was in Japan there were some scratches on the roof in which the Japanese owner had repainted the roof which shows a higher meter reading . All other panels read as original . The Full front of the car Is wrapped in clear bra for full protection . The whole front of the car is in clear bra and the meter readings reflect that. Please contact me with any other inquiries . This is an amazing car , good luck in bidding !
Are there paint meter readings for the car? I see in the description that all panels are original but has there been paint work on the car? Thanks!
A good friend of mine has a 1995 993 RS and I was lucky enough to go on a 4 hour ride in it.
