One of the top-range 993 models, the 4S features an all-wheel-drive system in the 911 Turbo’s chassis and wider bodyshell while maintaining the Carrera’s performance characteristics. This first-year example was originally sold in the United States finished in Black Metallic over a Cashmere Beige leather interior and optioned with a limited-slip differential, xenon headlights, and hollow-spoke 18” Turbo wheels along with several exclusive trim items. The car was imported to Germany in 2011 where it was kept indoors as part of an air-cooled Porsche collection for many years. This 993 was imported to Canada within the last year and is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Burnaby, B.C. while showing over 38k miles on the odometer and registered with Alberta plates.

The 4S shares its wide fenders, bumper design, and red-painted brakes with the 911 Turbo and includes the standard Carrera’s speed-activated rear spoiler. This example comes finished in Black Metallic and rides on factory 18” 911 Turbo hollow-spoke wheels. The wheels have been refinished in a custom dark color and 5mm hub-centric spacers have been installed. Other equipment includes colored Porsche crest center caps, optional Litronic bi-xenon headlamps, front fog lights, a headlight cleaning system, an electric sunroof, and exclusive stainless steel exhaust pipes. The seller notes the car was treated with a ceramic coating in 2022.

The Cashmere Beige leather interior includes heated electrically adjustable Comfort Seats. The seller has added a new OEM black leather shift knob as well as an FD Motorsports short shift kit, Goldenrod kit, Carbone brown houndstooth floor mats, and a new black leather three-spoke steering wheel. An AL Priority laser jammer system has also been installed along with a custom sound system including a Helix P-Six DSP amplifier, Bluetooth interface, and Blam L200P 8" 2-way component speaker system. Other equipment includes cruise control, automatic climate control, an anti-theft system, Porsche velour floor mats, and a sound package with a Porsche CR-210 radio. The seller confirms all gauges and accessories are working properly.

All four wheels are driven by an air-cooled 3.6-liter flat-six engine sending up to 282 HP through a 6-speed manual transmission with an optional limited-slip and Automatic Braking Differential (ABD). The exhaust has been upgraded with Fister Stage II sport mufflers and the suspension features Koni Active dampers with Sport Suspension (M030) springs. The seller has performed a full service during their ownership as well as replacements of the ball joints, steering rack bushings, steering rack brace, bump stops, and cabin filters.

This sale will include a clean title along with replacement service items, the original cassette holder, factory mufflers, and the original steering wheel.

The seller would like you to know: “This is a clean car, no engine tuning, no upgrades changing the original look. The car received lots of upgrades and is the best car I ever had; it drives amazingly. I feel very sad I have to let it go but I hope it will get good care from the next owner.”

@amust Thx for the info! We live and learn.
Quebec has negotiated better deal with Federal Government :)

  • amust (registered bidder) 1 year, 8 monthsago

If I can chime in. Not all provinces charge the same. Most charge both GST-PST(harmonize sale tax) when purchasing from a dealer or registered company. Some, like my province Quebec charge only PST when purchasing from a private

  • adrian79 (seller) 1 year, 8 monthsago

@-Ex964turbo- GST is charged anyways for Canadian buyers, either when transferring the registration office or if car owned by company GST is charged on the Bill of Sale / Invoice is issued.
    Car is registered under company.
Please note that if you are from a province that has HST you will have to pay HST.
If your province has Provincial Tax, PST will be charged to you when you go to register the car.
Overall, you will pay same taxes that you would pay for any car you would buy from your province.
There is not tax charged if buyer is from outside Canada.

  • -Ex964turbo- (registered bidder) 1 year, 8 monthsago

Are you a private individual or is there GST for Canadian buyers.

  • amust (registered bidder) 1 year, 8 monthsago

Appreciate the updates. Lets see if we can keep this Porsche in Canada
Best of luck with sale Cheers Anthony

  • Cocho 1 year, 8 monthsago

Bid in the amount of $65,000

  • adrian79 (seller) 1 year, 8 monthsago

@rreasen There are no export charges or taxes you will have to pay if car is exported. I will need your ID or Certificate of Incorporation if you are buying in the company and Bill of Sale will not have any additional taxes, just the amount you put the bid for.
In US you will not have to pay customs duties as the car was US car originally but it might be state taxes, like you pay for any car you would by from US.
Maybe others can comment as well on US part, from their experience.

  • rreasen (registered bidder) 1 year, 8 monthsago

Anyone know what the Canadian government charges for export of this car to US? What other issues would US registration take?

  • adrian79 (seller) 1 year, 8 monthsago

@hamadfa Hi! Nowadays we send cars in space, Kuwait is close by. :) As long as is paid for, I can take the car to any local shipping company as instructed by the broker that will take care of your shipping.

  • hamadfa 1 year, 8 monthsago

is it possible if i buy it you send it to Kuwait?

    @amust Hi!
Car arrived with cracked old tires, one tire was flat and dead battery (new one installed last year).
Tires were changed upon receiving the car, all fluids were changed including transition and break fluid. Brakes were good, I haven’t change the braking pads.
I will upload now a picture of the front hood label and one with the car on flatbed in Germany on the way to be loaded in container.

  • amust (registered bidder) 1 year, 8 monthsago

Good morning Arian79 As I plan to bid on this Porsche, my understanding is while in Germany
this car was on static display with almost no miles added for over 10 years. What are the date of the tires, was the brake fluid flushed and any other fluids changed. Can you please post a picture of the front under hood sticker. Thanks Anthony

  • adrian79 (seller) 1 year, 8 monthsago

@_Will_ In regards of driving the car back to US I contacted my Alberta registration agent (@Richmond Road Registry, in Calgary) and she said that there 2 options.
First, if the US state law allows buyer to get a temporary plate and use it on this vehicle.
Second, easier, to give buyer a Letter of Consent to allow him to use the plates for driving the car through the border, back home. Then the buyer needs to send me back the plates so I can cancel them. Border is only 40min away, I can even drive the car through the border if any issues with the agent not allowing passing through with the Letter of Consent and buyer can continue the trip and I can return home.
For buyer a drive back home will be a core memory, that’s for sure.

What a beauty - great color combo, tasteful mods and low mileage to boot. My '97 C4S carries the same mods (and quite a few more...along with miles) and it's without a doubt the most fun and engaging analog driving experience around. Super excited for the next caretaker; this one is special!

  • sportscarguy3 (registered bidder) 1 year, 8 monthsago

I dig the darker color !
I just heard from my tire dealer that my factory turbo twists, from my 2003 911 996 TT, are back from powder coating !
Stoked to see them tomorrow and swap them out
    Good looking Porsche !
    Good luck all

  • adrian79 (seller) 1 year, 8 monthsago

    @sportscarguy3 Hi!
Yes, they were refinished in darker grey.
Is the same grey as the “S” from the badge on the rear lid.
I hope I got the right decision on the color.

  • sportscarguy3 (registered bidder) 1 year, 8 monthsago

    Very nice Porsche.
My question about the turbo twist wheels they look darker than most. Were they powder coated Very good luck on the car

  • _Will_ (registered bidder) 1 year, 8 monthsago

@adrian79 your description of importing into the US is largely right. One exception I am aware of is you need to live in a state which will grant you temporary plates. In MA for example, it doesn’t seem possible to drive over the border - they won’t issue a temp plate. In that case - for people like me from MA - the import process is unfortunately quite a bit more expensive because you need to pay 2.5% import tax, transport and a number of other smaller costs which add up to about another $2k.

  • adrian79 (seller) 1 year, 8 monthsago

    @Nvrenuftoyz Hi,
In BC you will see lots of expensive cars registered in Alberta (for tax saving purpose, no PST in Alberta).. Car is in Burnaby BC. Burnaby is part of Vancouver Lower Mainland. YVR airport only 20 min away.

  • adrian79 (seller) 1 year, 8 monthsago

@JKnSC Can’t be much harder than importing a car from US to Canada. When importing a 1971 Alfa I’ve used the California plates, drove the car to border and gave the border agent the Bill of Sale. He asked me to fill a form and in 30 min I was out the door.. Life time memories! Best trip ever! I recommend driving it home 100%. Insurance broker will assist with proper paperwork before you head back. Once you get to your state you will need to register the car, after passing state inspection, you will not have any issues there as the car was an US car originally. Vancouver is the most beautiful city on the West Coast and worth spending here 2-3 days before heading back, you can fly to YVR and the 993 will wait for you at the airport. :) Contact me through “Contact Seller” and we can discuss further details directly.

To other car guys with experience in importing from Canada to US, please share your thoughts.

  • Nvrenuftoyz 1 year, 8 monthsago

Hello is the car located in Alberta or British Columbia.

  • JKnSC (registered bidder) 1 year, 8 monthsago

How much of importing this car to the USA will the seller be responsible for and/or be willing to assist? Pardon my ignorance, but I’ve never imported a car from out of the country, I’d almost have half a mind to drive it home! Any info from seller and those more experienced folks would be very much appreciated.

  • drivewithroy 1 year, 8 monthsago

The 993 is such a sweet spot because I find that the cars are so well built and reliable that you can pretty much use them everyday but they still feel more raw and fun. I spent the last 5 days driving a 993 Turbo and I fell in love with it. Just posted a video about it https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5wyCG0qRsAM

@kfitzpat9 in 2012 I export more than 12 cars to EU..kept most of them stored at Classic Remise in Dusseldorf until end of 2021 when I brought some back to US No issues with Customs and very little fees ; after 2 days papers filed cars were released You must have the correct car broker to to for you otherwise most of brokers won't know how to do it..Car must have EPA/DOT labels on it

  • adrian79 (seller) 1 year, 8 monthsago

@kfitzpat9 Car was originally an US car so will be no duty tax. The best way to confirm this is to contact a customs broker. I’ve imported another car (1971 Alfa Romeo) from California with no help from any broker, just educating myself online, driving the car up the West coast and showing up the border crossing with my assistant (wife) and then sold it back later to US buyer. He didn’t pay any duties when reimporting the car.

Beautiful Car and very well presented! Any chance you know the cost/process to get the car into the US? My understanding is that there is a 7% import fee but maybe you, or someone else could provide insight or experience.

  • adrian79 (seller) 1 year, 8 monthsago

@artichoke No check engine light on. Car had full service done, including new sparks. Extra set available because repair shop insisted to use their own.
Car drives like new, I had it driven by a local Porsche enthusiast with 3 air cooled 911s in his ownership (including a 993) and he mentioned he was surprised how the car feels, like a new car.
Is true some things can be affected by time on a car not being used for long period, but I feel less concerned than driving a high millage car.

  • adrian79 (seller) 1 year, 8 monthsago

@INK For sure, car in Burnaby BC. It has Alberta plates for tax purpose. If you decide to come I can pick you up at the YVR airport and we can go for a ride around town. I am back home on Monday.

  • artichoke (registered bidder) 1 year, 8 monthsago

Any check engine engine light issues? 96-98 993's have issues with vent tubes clogging if the cars are not driven hard regularly, (993's do not like to putter about).

  • adrian79 (seller) 1 year, 8 monthsago

    @artichoke Hi Bob,

New steering wheel is a brand new OEM 996 model and has airbag as well.
Car doesn’t have factory Motor Sound package but with exhaust upgrade doesn’t need it. Sounds much better bot not too aggressive as stage 3. Drilling holes in the air filter box is an option buyer can consider.
I will post a video next week, currently I am away from home.

  • artichoke (registered bidder) 1 year, 8 monthsago

Does the new Steering Wheel maintain the air bag system?

Does this 96 993 have the Motor Sound package?

    Thanks,

    Bob
