Finished in Black over a matching interior, this 1996 Porsche 993 Carrera Coupe features a 6-speed manual transmission paired with its 3.6-liter flat-six engine. It also comes equipped with 17” Cup 2 wheels, red seatbelts, 8-way power seats, Rennline aluminum pedal covers, new Alpine speakers, and more. Cared for by the same owner for the past 15 years, this Carrera was recently serviced and has been fitted with an RS-specification clutch, flywheel, and short shift kit. It is now being offered for auction out of California with approximately 89k miles on the odometer.
This Coupe is finished in Black (A1) and equipped with an electric sunroof, a rear window wiper, a speed-active rear spoiler, projector headlamps with washers, fog lights, power mirrors, and dual exhaust outlets. Porsche-branded brake calipers and cross-drilled discs are mounted behind 17” Cup 2 wheels with colored Porsche crest center caps. The tires show minimal wear but are recommended for replacement as they are over 10 years old. The seller notes the passenger rear quarter panel was refinished along with the replacement of the rear window following a minor incident in 2021. Some cosmetic imperfections are reported including tree sap stains and door dings on the passenger side. Invoices show a 7-step paint correction was completed in 2024. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with paint meter readings and a clean CARFAX report.
The Black partial leather interior includes optional 8-way power front seats, custom red seatbelts, and aftermarket black aluminum Rennline pedal covers with heel-toe extensions. Other accessories include a four-spoke leather steering wheel, automatic climate control, cruise control, a central locking system, an analog clock, Porsche-branded floor mats, a center console cup holder, and a Porsche CR-210 stereo. Invoices show the stereo antenna was repaired in 2024 along with the installation of new Alpine S2-series speakers. All gauges and accessories are said to be fully functional.
Rated at 282 HP and 250 lb.-ft of torque, the air-cooled 3.6-liter flat-six engine is paired with a 6-speed manual transmission sending power to the rear wheels. The seller adds that an RS-specification clutch, flywheel, and short shift kit have been fitted. All maintenance is reported to have been kept up to date and the most recent service in 2024 included an oil change, new spark plugs, and a new battery. Additional service records are provided in the gallery.
This sale will include a toolkit, a spare tire, and a clean title.
The seller would like you to know: “This beautifully-driving, unmolested, Black/Black Carrera Coupe is a fantastic looking and driving 993. It has covered just 20k miles in the last 15 years of ownership. A very original 993 with wear and tear commensurate with mileage and a great running and driving machine. No known outstanding mechanical issues or maintenance.”

That was my first thought the parking brake. Thanks for confirming!
@mxtx - A/C blows to spec and the Carrera has been freshly serviced. Fly in and drive it home!

@AZCollector - The light is indicating the Parking Brake is engaged. Bid with confidence... And get a new mechanic!
I forwarded the video to my mechanic mentioned to me that the light still on is the braking system meaning low brake fluid or something wrong with the brakes. Have they been checked? Redone?

Thanks for the question, No winter driving under current ownership. Prior is unknown. Bolts have surface corrosion only. The under carriage is very clean and there is zero visible rust anywhere on the chassis or body .
Another question. On the shock mount bolts and other suspension bolts (Pics 171-185) there is rust on the non-aluminum parts (shocks, tie rods etc). Looking at the Carfax this car spent some of its life in the salt belt. Do you know how much winter driving this car was subjected to?
silly question but does anyone know if a california buyer would get to keep those plates on the car? Love the early 90s CA plates with the sun lol

One upgrade worth noting is that the potentially problematic "Drive Block" system was removed and all coding was performed to eliminate the system. The service records for this can be viewed in the gallery..
@AZCollector - Great questions.
1. Tires have very few miles but are from 2012. Since most enthusiasts have strong opinions about brands and types of tires we left it for the new owner to finesse the details so bid accordingly.
2. The rear window was replaced without paint work as evidenced by the invoice in the gallery. Paint meter readings indicate the paint on the hood is original. The right rear quarter was refinished at some point likely for a scratch or similar. Meter readings on the cowl at the bottom of the windshield suggest a common repair to remedy corrosion under the front window seal was made at some point.
3. Regarding odometer:
Previous owner and shop were meticulous. As receipts and Carfax confirm the mileage progression risk of extra mileage is minimal:
10-10-08 prior owner service 64,897
09-30-10 PPI 69,984
5-10-2012 service 72,044
7-30-12 Odo service
8-12-12 service 72,989
10-17-12 service 73,100
4. Rear windshield was replaced after a bike messenger in NYC landed on it. Photo added to the gallery indicates no other visible damage.
5. I'll endeavor to add a start up video before the auction end.

993‘s are known to have SAI (secondary air injection) problems. Can we get a start up video showing the gauges where the check engine light comes on and then goes back off? Would like to ensure that the bulb has not been removed. Thx
How would a minor incident require the rear glass to crack/break? What was the cause of the incident that would break the glass? Seems like a "minor" incident would not cause this type of damage. Any photos or details of the damage?
Question 3: In 2012 the Odometer was repaired. How long was it broken and how many miles might have been added that are not reflected in the current ODO reading?
Question 4: Why was the rear glass replaced?
Question 1: Looking at the receipts the tires were last replaced in 2012. Have they been replaced since then? Can you upload pics of the date code to verify? If they are 12 years old they need to be replaced asap.
Question 2: Looks like the hood and possible rear window paint work done. Can you highlight what areas of the car have been repainted? Paint chips on the front bumper and hood?

buy the seller, the car is just a bonus. Stunt Road is the best of the best in bringing honest cars to market for us enthusiasts to enjoy. classic black on black narrow body beauty here. good luck to all bidders!
@Stunt_Road It’s got 89k miles and nearly 30 yrs old. Compression/leakdown would show it is a healthy engine and increase bidder confidence.
You say it’s stored at a sports car racing and restoration shop. What shop is it stored at?
Thanks for the bids everyone! All DM's replied. @pm2207 - the Porsche runs to spec and has been stored and in the care of sports car racing and restoration shop. There it has received any services it needed and there has been no reason to perform a compression or leak down test. If you would like to have one performed feel free to use the" Contact Seller" and I am happy to facilitate at your expense.
