Created to meet homologation requirements for GT2 class racing, Porsche’s original GT2 is based on the 993 Turbo and features widened bodywork around a twin-turbocharged Mezger engine sending power to the rear wheels. This 1996 example is among the 194 road cars produced in total and is one of only 33 to have been equipped with the optional Clubsport package which increases engine output to 450 HP along with the fitment of a welded roll cage, racing harnesses, fire suppression system, and Recaro bucket seats. The car was ordered in the Paint to Sample color of Ferrari Yellow and was delivered to its original owner in Germany by Porsche Zentrum Ulm. This GT2 moved to Switzerland with its second owner in 2012 where it is now being offered for auction while showing approximately 25k kilometers or just under 16k miles on the odometer.

The GT2’s bodywork is characterized by wide bolt-on fender flares, an aggressive front splitter, and a large rear wing with integrated ram-air scoops for engine cooling. It uses a thinner glass windshield for weight savings along with a lightweight aluminum bonnet and door panels. This example was ordered in the rarely seen Paint to Sample color of Ferrari Yellow (Ferrarigelb, 10L) and rides on factory lightweight 18” Speedline wheels dressed in Michelin Pilot Sport tires. The seller describes the car to be in very good overall condition while showing a few minor stone chips, detailed images are provided in the gallery.

The GT2 features a lightweight Clubsport interior with a factory-welded roll cage, black Nomex Recaro bucket seats, six-point safety harnesses, a full fire suppression system, and a battery cut-off switch. The seller states the original racing safety equipment remains in place and all gauges and accessories are fully functional.

Equipped with the Clubsport package, the GT2’s air-cooled 3.6-liter Mezger flat-six engine features twin K24 turbochargers and an output of up to 450 HP. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a 6-speed manual transmission. The GT2 features adjustable factory suspension with solid bushings, a stiffer rear subframe, adjustable anti-roll bars, and variable stabilizers. Stopping power comes from cross-drilled 12.6” discs paired with four-piston aluminum calipers at each corner. The seller states the car underwent routine services by the technicians at RUF and at authorized Porsche service centers with all corresponding invoices available.

This sale will include the original owner’s documentation and a clean title.

The seller would like you to know: “Unique opportunity to acquire probably what is known to be the most special 993 GT3 Clubsport”

@ace_pilot the pictures are uploaded of the paint measurmenets. All is original the fender extensions are not in metal and were always painted separately as well as the aluminum hood. These have different readings than the rest of the car.

  • ace_pilot (registered bidder) 1 year, 7 monthsago

A real unicorn for sure. Too bad it is not in the US. Is it correct that the fenders were painted as well as the hood? Can you take some measurements of the right and left fenders? Hope someone could get there to see and drive the car in person to give us some feedback.

  • burnrubr (registered bidder) 1 year, 7 monthsago

@PALY93 We have measured the paint and submitted the measurements. All panels are within the tolerance of an original paint. Between 100 and 150 um. It can be that some panels such as the hood and fuel door show more as these are painted separately. We have inspected the car thoroughly and we can say that it is original paint. The front Bumper was probably repainted at some point as it features very little stone chips.

  • PALY93 (registered bidder) 1 year, 7 monthsago

@Porschegstaad please let me know who repainted the car. I’ve seen the photos.

  • TeamOrange (registered bidder) 1 year, 7 monthsago

Would there be any problems registering this car in the states(New York)?

  • Porschegstaad (seller) 1 year, 7 monthsago

@TeamOrange Yes the car is currently on display at the Porsche Center of Gstaad in Switzerland. Available for viewing.

  • Porschegstaad (seller) 1 year, 7 monthsago

@kk3249 Hello, no it is the front hood which is always a bit thicker in paint on average. As it is a different material and also they are painted separately thank the rest of the car at the factory.

@HelpMeHelpU Hello, We regularly ship cars to the US either by Air (Lufthansa Cargo or Cargolux) or by Sea freight. By Air it takes 4 days from our garage to your doorstep and by sea about 3 to 5 weeks to East coast.
The cost is reasonable at the moment with airfreight, about 15 to 16k. The 911s are low and compact so they fit in the belly of the aircraft. Bigger cars need to go on the main deck.
The formalities are very easy and straightforward, we work with local agents and once the car lands it takes one week day to clear customs.

@HelpMeHelpU I’m flying F9 on a virgin Atlantic flight from LHR to SFO for 26k. Funny thing is I’m taking my family in the same flight next month for more money! It’s also going to cost me 2.5 % when the car gets here.

  • HelpMeHelpU (registered bidder) 1 year, 7 monthsago

Has anyone investigated the costs and steps necessary to bring this car into the US? @Porschegstaad?

  • Porschegstaad (seller) 1 year, 7 monthsago

@Hi the way Porsche has broken down the production years; 99ZTS represents the GT2s coming off the line in 1996, and 99ZVS are the cars from 1997. Also 33 club sports produced out of 194 road cars total. Not sure how many of the club sports were PTS. I’ll have to go back and reference the book.

  • Dom33 (registered bidder) 1 year, 7 monthsago

  • PALY93 (registered bidder) 1 year, 7 monthsago

    The VIN is from 1997
