The last of the air-cooled 911 Turbos and one of the most quintessential sports cars of the era, this 1996 Porsche 993 comes finished in Arena Red Metallic over a black leather interior with optional Sport Seats and exclusive Light Rootwood trim. It was acquired by the current owner from Porsche Gold Coast and has been kept in climate-controlled storage as part of a private collection ever since. Treated to considerable recent service including new valve cover gaskets and rebuilt turbochargers, this 993 is now being offered for auction out of New York showing approximately 31k miles on the odometer.
This 993 wears an Arena Red Metallic finish and Turbo-specific bodywork including wide fenders, a front bumper with additional air inlets, and a body-colored rear spoiler. It rides on factory 18” Technology hollow-spoke wheels fitted with new Michelin Pilot Sport tires and optional center caps with colored Porsche crests. Clear paint protection film has been applied near the wheel arches and the seller states a full paint correction and ceramic coating were completed in preparation for auction. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.
The black leather interior features exclusive Light Rootwood trim on the dashboard, steering wheel, shifter, and parking brake handle as well as optional Sport Seats and a leather-covered airbag module. Other factory equipment includes an electric sunroof, cruise control, Nokia Digital Sound Processing (DSP) audio system, and Alpine CD radio. A set of aftermarket TechArt pedal covers have been installed and the seller confirms all gauges and accessories are working properly.
A twin-turbocharged 3.6-liter flat-six engine delivers up to 408 HP and 398 lb.-ft of torque to all four wheels through a 6-speed manual transmission. The dynamic limited-slip system with Active Brake Differential (ABD) and a limited-slip differential are equipped as standard along with red 4-piston aluminum brake calipers paired with 322mm rotors front and rear. Recent service included rebuilding both turbochargers to original factory specifications as well as the installation of new spark plugs, valve cover gaskets, a drive belt, master/slave cylinders, and hoses.
This sale will include owner’s manuals and a clean title.

Trying to figure out why the high bidder bid against himself after the reserve was lifted....just generous?
@Bumblebug i couldn't agree with you more. This arena red is my absolute favorite color. The new buyer got a great deal, it wasn't an easy pill for my friend to swallow dropping the reserve.
High bidder outbid himself 4x, does he pay high bid or 1st high bid? Just asking
Awesome car and awesome auction! The new buyer should be stoked with this fantastic gem of a car! Now to go see how this compares to the modified arena red on BAT. Probably one of the best 993 colors out there in my opinion!
@vengerider we dont play games like that.
A big thank you to PCar and @Rsalkow. This is a great deal along and im sure the buyer will be thrilled with thier purchase.
He's (or she) is just trying to meet the reserve and avoid going to the Tank...
My bet is this is Rsalkow's car. Unless it sells and doesn't come up for auction again in the next month or so.
Sold for $244,000
Still buying at a fair price. Incredible car
Somebody better make sure Rsalkow is not having a medical emergency. What is going on lol

Good Afternoon everyone, as we get down to the final hours i would like to thank everyone for there bids, comments and continued interest. I never met the first owner but can say this car has vastly improved since then. The paint correction/ ceramic coating really takes this color to another level. Its a total collector piece in every sense and everything has been maintained to a high level. Its not an everyday occurance turbos like this surface. MY friend was on a search for this particular color and it had to check all the boxes. I will be available throughout the auction and if anyone would like to speak feel free to contact me direct. Good luck to all.
Bid in the amount of $165,000
beautiful example.. does anyone know if there was a difference in the electronic from 96 to 97 as far as being able to "enhance" the vehicles performance. Not that it needs it but I was just curious.. This is the same car as the poster claimed"kills bugs fast"
I first met the owner of this special turbo a few years ago thru the Metro NY PCA club. He has a very impressive collection of Porsche's and this offering is no exception. I've seen this car several times at various events and it is in collectors condition, that is how he manages all his vehicles GLWA
Now, this is why I click on this site. What a beauty! Good luck with your auction. Side note, I’ve sold enough of these gems to know how bad I’ve regretted it down the line.

I’m really impressed by the story of this very low mileage gorgeous Arena Red 993 turbo. The quality of the shape it’s in, with the expensive service work that was done recently, the PPF and ceramic coating work which was also done, all these makes it a very desirable, rare and a very special Arena Red 993 turbo. I really think the Arena Red color is among one of the most desirable, beautiful and popular colors for the 993 turbo.
Good afternoon everyone, If you click on the little E icon on my youtube video you will be able to see the cold start, interior and drive video. We also have some newspaper articles and older service history from the previous owner that will accompany the sale.
Hello @Teddyx3 no , the car never had a reason or exhibited a problem of any such to warrant that. No smoke on startup but I know that is a Mezger trait. Stay tuned as the drive video, cold start and and interior video will be posted. I just took this car for a spirited drive and quite frankly it is the best 993 turbo I drove in my career . We are accessible over this weekend and encourage any serious buyer to see this beauty for themselves .
Dear Seller, would you tell us if compression test and leak down test been performed ? Any smoke when you start the car after a while?

Good Evening P car fans, Its with great pleasure to offer this gorgeous 993 turbo. I am consigning this car for a close personal friend who is a Porsche collector. This car lives a charmed life as its always been maintained and is housed in a climate controlled facility amongst his other collection. This car has all original paint. In preparation on the sale the car received a paint correction followed by a ceramic coating. Our exterior walkaround video showcases its deep reflective gloss. Please view the picture gallery as i added paint meter readings, complete tool kit and receipt from the last major service.
@seymourslatkin i cannot comment on the "correction too record" i can only speculate that it could have been a misspelling or something of that nature. My friend purchased this from Gold Cost Porsche and they did the paperwork. The turbos were just rebuilt about a month ago. I would like to touch on the recent work that was preformed . The car had some minor seepage from the valve cover gaskets, it was discovered on the last oil change. The valve covers are an involved process that requires the turbos to be removed. Being a meticulous owner he wanted to eliminate any need to revisit that area. The original k16 turbos were rebuilt with new bearings, seals along with a rebalancing. There was absolutely no shaft play and quite frankly this was done as a preventative measure instead of a need.
@Teddyx3 my friend tried to obtain a COA but was informed that Porsche of America doesnt provide engine and tranny numbers. If you view the pictures in close detail you will see that this engine and tranny has never been apart and without a doubt is original to the car.
@rak1161 we have the cold start and drive video and it should be posted tomorrow.
This car runs, drives and shifts as good as it looks. We welcome any serious buyer or 3rd party inspector to come down and view the car in person. I will be present throughout the auction. Good luck to all bidders.

@RPL0168 Well, not every single detail..Seems we still need paint meter readings, cold start, driving video, receipts from stated work done — and maybe an initial comment from seller providing history, condition, etc.
1)Is there tool kit?
2)Does the car have COA and matching numbers (engine )?
I have a PTS Arena Red 991.2, the PO wanted his modern turbo S to match the 1997 Arena Red Turbo S he owns. Would love to have this one along side of MY 991 Turbo S!!
Can you give any insight into the "Correction too record" on 07/02/2019 on the car fax? Is the car all original paint I don't see any paint readings. When were the turbo's rebuilt?
Bid in the amount of $105,250
I have one in this color, the holy grail in my opinion
I’d imagine there won’t be many comments since the seller seems to have addressed every single detail. Nice job! And good luck. The next owner will be thrilled.
