The last generation of the air-cooled 911 Turbo, the 993 model debuted a new twin-turbocharged flat-six engine paired with an all-wheel-drive system and 6-speed manual transmission. This 1996 example was purchased new in Illinois and spent time in California and Oklahoma before being acquired by the current owner in 2016. In preparation for sale, an engine-out service totaling over $25k was performed including a full engine reseal and rebuilds of both turbochargers. Accompanied by a Porsche Classic Technical Certificate, this 1996 993 Turbo is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Illinois.
This Turbo is finished in Black (L471) and features a power sunroof, rear window wiper, headlight washers, and dual polished exhaust tips. Compared to a standard 993 Carrera, the Turbo model is equipped with wider bodywork, unique front and rear bumpers, “Big Red” brake calipers, and a fixed rear spoiler. The seller reports that the factory hood had a small number of stone chips which lead then to install a replacement hood that was painted to factory specifications (5 mils). The origianal hood will be included with the sale. The full exterior was also treated with Modesta BC-4 and BC-05 zirconium ceramic coating after a Level 2 paint correction was completed by Chicago Auto Pros. The original hollow-spoke 18” Technology wheels come fitted with colored Porsche caps and new Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires.
The black full leather interior includes optional power-adjustable heated front seats with lumbar support, a Becker cassette AM/FM radio, a trunk-mounted 6 CD changer, automatic climate control, and black floormats with red Turbo logos. The interior’s condition was rated “excellent” on the Porsche Classic Technical Certificate.
The air-cooled 3.6L flat-six engine features twin K-16 turbochargers, dual-charge air intercoolers, and Bosch Motronic M 5.2 engine management. A 6-speed manual transmission sends up to 408 HP and 398 lb.-ft of torque to all four wheels while stopping power is handled by fixed 4-piston aluminum “Big Red” Brembo brake calipers with cross-drilled rotors front and rear. The dynamic Active Brake Differential (ABD) and a limited-slip differential are also equipped as standard. Modifications include a Bilstein PSS10 coilover kit and a carbon-fiber Turbo S shock tower brace. In preparation for the sale, an engine-out service was completed by Perfect Power of Buffalo Grove, IL, including the replacement of the spark plugs, valve cover gaskets, oil return check valves, and chain box gaskets along with rebuilt and blueprinted turbochargers.
This sale will include extensive service documentation, owner’s manuals, and a Porsche Classic Techincal Certificate.

GLWTA! It is amazing how much better the process is here on PCar vs BAT. There are shills all over BAT trying to manipulate prices of the entire market.

Responding to KitChaos I uploaded some pictures of underside of car and engine before Dry Ice Blasting. As you can see it was very clean to start with.

Do you have any images/pics BEFORE the dry ice blasting?
As bidding and comments on this amazing collector car have been quiet for a couple of days now I thought it would be a good time to describe my thought process on maintaining all original paint as I have on a car of this caliber. I am referring to my decision to remove and preserve the original factory hood, that was in excellent condition consistent with the rest of the car, but it had a few stone chips. I know I'm not alone as a long time Porsche collector and enthusiast who would not even consider having a car in their collection if it had repaired accident damage or even repainted body panels other than plastic bumpers. (because once it's repainted who knows the entire reason). Original factory paint is only original once! IMO that adds significantly to the rarity and value of the car. We all know just because if it's not reported on CarFax or Autocheck doesn't mean there hasn't been damage or paintwork. I applaud the frequency of sellers on PCM and BaT who picture paint gauge readings like I have. When we read from the current seller of some cars that the previous owners claim the car has not had accident damage or paintwork but the paint meter shows 7mils or more on a 20+ yr old car we know someone is not telling the truth. Yes you can have a high quality paint job done to factory specs for a lot of money as I have on my O.E. correct replacement hood (measures 5-6.5 mils which is still slightly higher than the rest of the car) if you want it to be perfect, but I've been honest to disclose that and I have the original hood (included with the sale) which measures around 4.5 mils to prove it and maintain full originality. I hope this explanation along with the extensive service records provide bidders additional confidence that I have been fully transparent with the description of this 993 Twin Turbo.

Welcome, thank you for viewing and hopefully participating in the auction of my collector quality 1996 Porsche 993 Twin Turbo. I am a long time Porsche enthusiast and collector and have previously owned several 993 Twin Turbos including a Black/Black 6k mile 1997 993 Turbo S that this car replaced. In preparation for this sale I undertook a no expense spared exercise to bring this car up to the level of my previous very low mile Turbo S which is probably in an auto museum/world class collection somewhere. When i acquired this car in 2016 it was already in excellent condition, as is a prerequisite for any car I purchase. As market values of these last of the air cooled 911 Turbos continues to appreciate so does the level of quality that collectors expect. In this case I chose to obtain the Porsche Factory Classic Technical Certification (CTC) to further validate authenticity and condition. For those not familiar with the process it is a very thorough inspection with a pass/fail zero tolerance grading system. For example tif here is one drop of oil or fluid coming from the bottom of the engine then the entire engine category fails. This car had a small leak from the left turbocharger and an even smaller leak from the valve chain box cover which is very common when they sit and gasket material dries out. In order to get a 100% Passing score on the entire certification I chose to have the engine removed to provide access to reseal every gasket, o ring and other surface which could potentially leak. had everything resealed whether it leaked or not, had the turbos rebuilt and blueprinted, plugs changed and a bunch of other minor service items addressed as listed in the service records pictured in the gallery. As time goes on It has become harder and harder to find cars like this one with all original paint work and no rust on all original metal body panels as well as such low miles and recent engine out resealing service. I will be available throughout the auction to answer any questions. Please bid with confidence that this car is in amazing condition and needing nothing. You will not find a car like this in better condition.
