Up for auction is this sleek 1996 Porsche 993 Carrera Cabriolet finished in Polar Silver Metallic over a grey leather interior. While the Porsche 993 already offers an incredible air-cooled driving experience this example takes it to the next level. Equipped with a desirable 6-speed manual transmission, a few hand-selected performance upgrades and almost $40k in receipts, this Carrera is being offered in ready-to-drive condition by its seller out of Florida with 68k miles showing on the odometer.
The Polar Silver Metallic paint is said to be in beautiful overall condition (detailed images are provided in the photo gallery). The Carfax report does show damage to the rear bumper, however, the seller notes that there are no signs of any issues. A few key exterior details include a newly replaced black cabriolet top along with a set of unique 19” CCW SP100 Forged wheels that wear Bridgestone Potenza tires.
Inside, you will find a well-kept grey leather interior. A few noteworthy interior options include 8-way power operated seats, power windows, automatic speed control and a fully functioning air conditioning system. The seller notes that a tasteful aluminum pedal set has been installed along with an aftermarket Panasonic head unit. All electronics are said to be in working order.
This 993 possesses a freshly built, balanced & blueprinted air-cooled 3.6 L flat-six engine making an estimate 282 HP and 243 lb-ft of torque. The seller notes that the engine was recently tuned and fully serviced by the master technicians at Protomotive in Arkansas. Over $40k in service receipts will show that this Carrera is not only up-to-date on maintenance but has been well-maintained throughout its life. Both the performance and driving experience of this 993 are enhanced due to a few upgrades including an RS clutch and lightweight flywheel, Fabspeed Maxflow exhaust, a Bilstein PSS9 coilover suspension and a desirable Brembo GT-R Big Brake Kit (380mm front / 345mm rear).
The sale will include two keys, books, tools and service records.

@StrasseD76 - Disappointingly I just checked and a Porsche older than 2005 is not allowed. Im surprised
@StrasseD76 ok, thanks, They are now 7 years old. Any winning bidder needs to factor in new tires.

@valdorasi Don't think there would be a problem but please do your research. I have sold Porsche's to clients in Canada and they have had them shipped & registered without problems. Also, let me make it clear that this car was not in an accident. It had a scuff on the rear bumper that was repainted through insurance. I believe the front bumper has also been repainted at some point but have not found any other evidence of paintwork on the car.

Bid in the amount of $32,500
Can you please tell me the date of manufacture for the tires, that’s printed on the sidewall?
Hi there,
I am located just outside of Toronto ,Canada . Would there be any issue shipping and registering this car that you know of? Have any areas been repainted on the car , I assume the rear bumper has due to the accident .
@JAM2 Photo has been uploaded and should be posted on the auction soon!
Bid in the amount of $29,930
@strassed76 any luck with the additional photos of the rear seats?
@buckshot111 looking through the receipts looks like the car had a valve job and and engine reseal pretty standard stuff if your engine leaks oil as in this one did.
Bid in the amount of $28,500
@buckshot111 I was told the P/O wanted it blueprinted and I must say it is very impressive how smooth it is. You can be cruising at 6k RPM and you won't feel a single vibration or feel the engine at all
A little confused. Is this he original engine? Why was it rebuilt with 68k miles on it?
@JAM2 the car has no oil leaks, the tires are good and it needs nothing. Just regular annual oil service which is coming up this summer/fall
@StrasseD76 thank you for the reply. Do you kNow when it was last serviced? Are there any oil leaks? I am just trying to get a sense of what it may need moving forward. Oil change? New filters? New tires?
@drmatara Good news is those two components (ECU & Exhaust) can be easily reverted to stock if the car does not pass CA smog
@JAM2 Those receipts pictured are the ones referred to for that major service. Only about 2k miles have been driven since the major service although it was a few years back. I will get a photo of the rear seats for you today.
@StrasseD76 thanks for the info...based on your provided data (flashed ECU) this is not an OBD II compliant car anymore and definitely will not pass the CA strict smog check. Other than the emission the car looks great, and I'm sure it drive great. Good luck with the sale.
Also, can you please provide pictures of the rear interior without the tonneau cover? Looking to see the condition of the rear part of the interior. Thank you.

Can you please let us know the dates of service? The records from the $ 40k service appears to be from 5 years ago in 2015. Are there any additional receipts that I may have missed?
@drmatara the ECU has been flashed with Protomotive software and the car has Fabspeed mufflers. Should pass smog in CA but please do your own research; the car still has its original catalytic converters in place.
Bid in the amount of $27,993
Is the emission, ECU, exhaust stock? Can it pass the smog check in California. If everything is stock it should.
Bid in the amount of $19,993
