This 1996 Porsche 993 Carrera Coupe is finished in Arena Red Metallic over a Black partial leather interior and features a 6-speed manual transmission as well as an optional limited-slip differential, Automatic Braking Differential (ABD), and supple leather seats. It was acquired by the seller from its previous owner in 2019 and has since undergone two major services including a top-end engine rebuild. It also features factory 18” Turbo-look wheels, a Fabspeed exhaust system, a new Bilstein suspension, and an upgraded Porsche Classic (PCCM) radio. Showing approximately 98k miles on the odometer and accompanied by extensive service documentation, this 993 is now being offered for auction by its owner out of Georgia.
This Carrera Coupe is finished in Arena Red Metallic, a desirable color most closely associated with the 993 generation. Equipment includes a speed-activated rear spoiler, headlight washers, front fog lights, a rear window wiper, black brake calipers with white Porsche lettering, Fabspeed exhaust tips, and 18” 911 Turbo-look wheels. New Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires were mounted within the last 6 months and the seller notes the front bumper was refinished by a dealership to address a small damage in 2005. The car’s exterior is described to be in good overall condition for its age while showing a few minor scratches and some signs of wear on the hood. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a CARFAX report showing an accident in 2005.
The Black partial leather interior features optional 8-way power-adjustable seats in supple leather upholstery as well as an Exclusive leather-covered CD storage unit, an electric sunroof, cruise control, and an onboard computer. Standard equipment includes power windows and mirrors, a central locking system, automatic climate control, a locking glovebox, and a quartz clock. An upgraded Porsche Classic Communication Management (PCCM) head unit has been installed and the seller describes the interior to be in excellent condition apart from some minor wear on the driver’s seat and a small crack in the rear parcel shelf near the speaker grilles. The seller adds that black leather will be included in the sale for the next owner to repair the parcel shelf. All gauges and accessories are said to be working properly including the air conditioning which was serviced in 2023.
An air-cooled 3.6-liter flat-six engine delivers up to 272 HP to the rear wheels through a 6-speed manual transmission with an optional limited-slip differential and Automatic Braking Differential (ABD). An upgraded Fabspeed exhaust system is equipped and a new Bilstein suspension was installed by the current owner and lowered to European ride height. Routine maintenance has been kept up to date and two major services were completed while under the seller’s ownership including overhauled distributors and a top-end engine rebuild with new seals, gaskets, spark plugs, wires, valve covers, and more. A large binder of maintenance records is included with the sale.
This sale will include owner’s manuals, a window sticker, a toolkit, a spare tire, a clean title, an air pump, service records, sales documents, and a clean title.
The seller would like you to know: “This is a driver’s car for the lady or gentlemen that likes to give it the serious right pedal. The next owner of this car needs to enjoy road rallies, road trips, long Sunday driver events, and passion for the adventure, not the destination. Concourse trailer junkies and static car display enthusiasts need not apply. In 2020 I took the car on a cross-country road trip, it performed absolutely flawlessly, never left me stranded, and never left me with a sight unseen. The car is 27 years old, It has a few paint blemishes and shows very light use, like that baseball glove you should have never gotten rid of, but to the right driver, it will be absolutely everything you'd want in a driver 911. I wish the next custodian the best of luck as you're getting an absolute charm of a 993, that will always leave with a smile on your face.”

Congrats! Very anxious to see your new 993!
Values of 993s continue to climb, it amazing to see how much they have gone up in the last 1-2 years. I’m sure when you look back in 5 or more years you everyone will say what a bargain these numbers were.
Congratulations, I was sure I was in at $7300, never got a notification?
Sold for $73,500
I can't wait to see this beauty driving with the Air Brigade in the mountains of Western North Carolina.

@celotola the rear spoiler comes as it should at highway speeds and has a manual button so you can deploy it at anytime. The AC blows ice cold and the heat works fantastic. The sunroof works as it should, the drains are in great shape, and the sunroof has never leaked. The clutch feels fine and doesn't chatter or make any noise. As for the close up shots I'm unfortunately at the office and the folder is at home in the car, I can't assure you it's all together and will be with the car for the new owner to thumb through. I thought the over all picture would help show the extensive paperwork the car has.
Looking at photo 27 of the door opening and 96 at the edge of the driver side fender. Can the seller clarify if that’s paint chipping next to the rubber trim on 96? 27 looks like a vertical paint line, as if that panel had been painted. The delamination of clearcoat on the mirror and the lack of paint meter readings makes me think that more than the front bumper has been painted.
Doesn’t change how great a driver the car is and I think it’s been fairly represented as such by the seller.
appreciate the photo of all the receipts, but can't read any of them. Can you take closeups of a few key receipts, like for the top end rebuild, showing the car's VIN ideally? Thanks. Also if you can confirm the rear spoiler deploys at speed as intended, the AC thermostat works correctly (directing air etc), and sunroof operates correctly? Clutch still feels good and grabs as it should?
@awaweego my apologies I must have looked at the wrong part number. I've never had any issue running without it, but I'm familiar with the debate around it. The car flawlessly without it.
@hrat2 folks debate the need for the engine cover but Pelican has them for $787.
I do not have it, but I believe they can be had from pelican parts for about $90. I know they are very prone to cracking and if they are not fit on properly they'll catch air and tear or crack.
Minor question, do you have the bottom engine cover? Thanks

@philip993 I had the rear wiper taken off and rather than plug the hole and risk it leaking I was advised to just replace the rear glass. I can't stand the way the rear wiper looks and I tried not to drive it in the rain anyway.
@eparlet1742 I do not have a COA I never ordered one, I know they are easy to obtain from Porsche. The wheels that are on it are what came on it originally. No OBD2 codes whatsoever. The PCCM is the Porsche classic radio and navigation, it just updates the car a little bit for hands-free talking, navigation, and integrates with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. @CVS911SC there is no rust on the car whatsoever, she's very clean. I met with registered bidder yesterday, and as we crawled underneath it we did note one small very minor oil leak from the drivers bottom valve cover. Oil leaks in this spot are very common in 911's, in fact I've had both the gaskets changed once before. However since I caught it yesterday and didn't list it from the start I'll work with the new owner on having it replaced. Hopefully that helps everyone bid with a little more confidence!
The Carfax shows that the car spent ten years or so in New England and Pennsylvania. A cold snowy environment. Any signs of salt or rust damage?
1 Porsche COA?
2 did car come with 17” or 18” wheels, history?
3 any OBD2 error codes, emissions?
4 please elaborate on PCCM upgrade?
Thank you very much.

Hi, any oil leaks?
Option Tag shows 425 - Rear window wiper. In picture 20 it looks like I can see a place for it on the interior. Was the rear window replaced at some time?

Is there a receipt in there for the top-end engine rebuild and could you post a picture of just that receipt.
Yes, we'll be posting pictures of the maintenance records and paint blemishes tomorrow.

Could you post pictures of the top-end engine rebuild receipt and all pertinent maintenance records.
Door check strap up close shots are in the gallery, it has had brakes in the last year rotors and pads, it had a new clutch in 2019 so not old but also not new, no clear bra on the front, clear sharkfin stone guards on the sides. One key with immobilizer works perfectly. I personally think one owner moving a few times is the reason for that higher number, you know how Carfax can be sometimes.
1 door check strap close up pics?
2 brake work, rotors, ridges?
3 clutch work?
4 no clear bra?
5 all keys, imobilizer?
6 truly 9 owners or same owner moving a few times?
Thanks.
The left up close window picture is just a shadow no gap. The original exhaust will go with the car upon sale. The air pump I think you're referring to is the original roadside air pump from Porsche so that you could use the spare tire, upon closer look you'll notice it says Porsche on the top. As far as a PPI I have no issue with having one done as it's 100% a solid driver, it's just a matter of calling Monday, getting the car over, and seeing if they can manage it in before auction close Tuesday. No promises but I'll try.
Is the original exhaust system included?
Why is there a air pump included in the sale?
Any possibility of a PPI.
On the left windshield close up picture is that a gap between the rubber and the windshield or just a shadow? Thanks
A current PPI should include compression and leak down readings, is that available?
Do you have any leak down and compression data available? If not, would you be willing to get that?
Bid in the amount of $32,993
@1234 I'll try and get some underside pictures if I can get access to a lift. At the very least I'll get some shots from the ground. As for the doors, nothing pops, clicks, or creaks when opening or closing and of the doors, they operate as the should with very little effort to open or close.
Is a current PPI available with undercarriage pictures?
Any issues with the door check straps? ie: popping, clicking or creaking when the doors are opened

@UpNrothMN We'll get those up for sure!
Bid in the amount of $10,000
Could you please post the receipts for the two major services? How far back do you have maintenance history? Do the door stops work without any clicking? Could you please post pictures of the flaws in the paint? Thank you!
@TThom85 the Arena Red gets a lot of attention anywhere it goes!! Not sure I'd have a 993 in any other color.
@awaweego I had it removed, to be honest I don't like the way they look and if it was raining I didn't drive the car anyway so it never got used. As for the device left of the headlight switch that's a mic pick up for the PCCM for hands free calls. They are big on that in GA. The PCCM is awesome and really compliments the car.
I see the rear wiper is on the option list but has been removed do you know the circumstances? Also what is the switch/device that’s to the left of the headlight switch. Thanks
I own 322055 also in Arena Red and I love it. AR gets a lot of attention considering it was a standard color in 1996.
@craignyc I'll add that to the shot list for the photo dump this weekend. I don't have any pictures from the actual accident, but to my understanding it was just a very light tap and light cosmetic work.
Also pictures of the Frunk without the covering in place so we can see the chassis and if there are any damage from the accident. Do you know the extent of the damage from the accident?
Any pictures from the accident?
Hello everyone,
thank you for the comments and for taking a look! Hopefully I'll get to everyone's comments and get all the questions addressed, but please bear with me as I do work during the week and am currently on a business trip. @abuong I'll get pictures of the armrest on each door, they are in great shape, but we'll be sure to get shots of them. @awaeego I'll also add pictures of the check straps and corners of the windshield for you. As for the paint I believe it's original other than the front bumper which had cosmetic work done in 2005 due to a minor parallel parking mishap. I'll get all those uploaded as well as a video of the start as soon as I can (probably the weekend). I also wanted to add that the car will be fully serviced and detailed this week ready for it's new driver next week!
Nice car. Can you get pictures of the door check straps and the body panels at the lower corners of the windshield.
Do you have anything on paint history, it looks pretty good considering its had 9 owners. Thank you.
@hrat2 It's the condition of the arm rest in general Im looking to see. I had an 84 with damage from previous owner and had to replace the entire card and armrest. May be fine here. Beautiful car BTW!
@Abuong01
These cars have deep pockets...lol
Absolutely I'll try and get those uploaded soon!
Seller - Might you be able to get pictures of the door panel with the arm rest section opened. Like to see the condition of the door pockets please.
Thank you
