We are pleased to offer this 1996 Porsche 993 Carrera 4S finished in Black over a black leather interior. Introduced for the 1996 model year, the Carrera 4S offered the 993 all-wheel-drive system paired with the widened bodywork, brakes, and chassis of the Turbo model. This C4S was first registered in Connecticut before moving to New York in 1998 and eventually California in 2017. It came factory optioned with the Technic Package (P02), Power Seat Package, Exclusive Dark Rootwood interior trim, and the HiFi Sound Package. Now with just under 57k miles showing the odometer, this increasingly sought-after Carrera 4S is being offered for auction by its seller out of California.
This 993 is finished in nonmetallic Black (A1) and shares its wide fenders and bumper design with the Turbo model. The car is said to have been refinished under previous ownership and the lower front spoiler was replaced in 2003. Some minor road-going chips are reported across the front bumper commensurate with the car’s mileage. The seller also notes that the car has undergone a complete professional paint correction in preparation for sale, detailed images are provided in the photo gallery along with a clean CARFAX report. This C4S rides on factory 18″ Turbo-look wheels featuring Porsche crests on the center caps and Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires showing date codes from 2018.
Inside, you will find a black interior with power-operated leather seats, the HiFi Sound Package, and Exclusive Dark Rootwood trim on the shifter and handbrake lever. The seller reports normal signs of wear on the seating surfaces and describes the original floor mats to show extensive wear around the borders. All gauges and accessories are reported to be fully functional including the original Becker CR-210 radio.
This 993 is equipped with an air-cooled 3.6L flat-six Varioram M64/23 engine that sends up to 282 HP to all four wheels through a 6-speed G64/23 manual transmission with a limited slip differential. The seller states that a Bilstein PSS9 suspension has been installed, and records show that upgraded sway bars were equipped in 2008. Service records also indicate the air injection ports to have been cleaned in 2009, the exhaust replaced in 2005, and that the fuse box replaced in 2003 along with the steering rack, tie rods, and transmission fluid. A recent pre-purchase inspection from Sleeper's Speed Shop is provided for reference in the photo gallery.
This sale will include two keys, a remote fob, the original owner's manual, a toolkit, a spare tire, and a clean title. Easily one of the most sought-after and collectible models of the final air-cooled generation, this well-equipped and beautifully presented Carrera 4S is just waiting for a new caretaker.

The air cooled market is crazy right now, but the market is speaking. Nobody knows where it will be in 6 months or a year. Either way, I love 993s
@fredscL your right, i should be stifled. i apologize to you, but was merely replying to a previous post. i will watch my wording in the future as to not ruffle feathers.
@mlammey did you not see the one on here last week with airbag deployment on carafe that bought 135? the moderator should pull your stuff down. criticism is fair but be accurate. I own a 993 so I watch these beyond closely
@mlammey Hahahaha seriously??
I’d say PCM has been the Meca for 993’s over the last 6 months. BaT is clearly no longer the best place to sell a Porsche. 3 month wait and results not as good a PCM.
@fredscL lol, no. i have been watching these cars closely and have notices some serious differences in auction prices based on auction platform. the one yesterday was however very well presented.
@mlammey last time I checked there were like four of these in the past week that did pretty impressive figures. do you work for BAT or something?
does it seem BAT may bring in more bidders?
Where are the bidders - similar mileage C4S just sold for $141,000 plus fees yesterday. Inthink another sold for $170 plus fees and also had paintwork

Good luck to all the bidders on this beautiful 993 Carrera 4S. Please let us know if you have any questions about the car. We are here to assist. Thank you.
@911airfan We are uploading two photos of the small hairline crack in the right rear tail light lense for reference. This is the only lense that has an issue. The window switches all work properly. The new Bilstein PSS9 shocks were installed by a previous owner in New York and a common upgrade/replacement to the OEM shocks on any 993. Any surface rust on the undercarriage is the likely result of the car living in New York for 20+ years of its life. The car has only been in California/Colorado for approximately 3.5 years. The mileage reading on the odometer is accurate and consistent with all service records. The odometer has not been tampered with on this vehicle. Thank you.
@Ben991 Hi, we have posted the paint meter readings that our client received from the previous owner, when he purchased the vehicle.
Another black/black '97 C4S (with 70ish miles) sold on BaT yesterday for $143K.
Good to see all the 993 variants selling for strong pricing...
Good luck to the seller and buyer.
Hello everyone, I just joined this site to bid on this car. Any chance seller has paint meter readings? (Pcar and BAT should really mandate these)
Bid in the amount of $80,000
Currently own a 96 C4S with a serial number that's so very close to this one. While mine is lower mileage than this one. This one was well maintained as evidenced by the numerous RO's. The issues with rust on 993 exposed metal exhaust parts is not unusual (based on others sold on this site and others)and in general much here seems fitting for a car driven in the NE and exposed to the various elements. RMG who serviced the car in CA is an excellent shop and they know these cars very well. Should be a nice driver for some future owner. Best wishes to all!
So many little things, such as broken light lenses, window switches, small electrical things, new shocks,under side rust (in Ca and CO, come on now.).ect. Yes they for the most part been replaced which is good. However all that stuff reflects much higher milage
@911airfan can you please elaborate on what you see off? Thanks
looks like a nice car-mileage is fine for the age, however just so many things noted in the PPI report that reflect much higher mileage or just a total lack of car. I recently sold my 96 C4S with 52000 miles on it and it was better than when it was new. I think the current bid price is about where it should be.
@RideOn Upon receiving the car from our client, we had a full multi stage paint correction performed by Protective Film Solutions and the interior detailed by a local detailer and the two front seats conditioned and treated by Pioneer Leather Restoration in Orange County. The interior is all original and the seats have not been reupholstered. We can provide additional photos if requested.
Beautiful car. Were the seats reupholstered at some point?

@Hollywoodrat1 we have uploaded the PPI that was performed by Sleeper's Speed Shop. On the PPI, we have highlighted in green, all of the issues that have been addressed/resolved as noted on the PPI as <Repaired>.
Has the all issues on post inspection been fixed
Or addressed
@emotoringllc I appreciate it!
@DubbleDeez1 Thank you for the question. We are representing this car on behalf of our very good client who has homes in California and Colorado, so I will try to break down the ownership history of this car. The first 2 owners, owned this for a combined 8 1/2 years and put approximately 51,773 miles on it. Owner #3 had the car for approximately 12 1/2 years and only put approximately 4,800 miles on it. Owner #4 was based in California and only owned it for approximately 8 months and, we believe, that was an affiliated party to the dealer that sold the car to our client (current owner). The current owner #5 purchased the car in October 2018 with 55,935 miles on the odometer, and registered it to his home address in Southern California. The current owner also has a home in Colorado and decided to transport the car to his home in Colorado, where he stored it in a climate controlled garage, thus the CarFax 'event' that shows Owner #6 in Colorado. Essentially the current owner is #5 and #6 on the CarFax report. We shipped the car back to Southern California in June 2021 to sell it on his behalf. Sorry for the long winded answer but we want to provide as much detail as possible about this vehicle and give clear answers to any questions.

is the back and fourth between Colorado and California by chance (the last few owners), or is there a story behind this that you know of?
First of all... these photos are absolutely stunning!
Secondly, what an insanely beautiful car. This is Porsche perfection.
@seller, thank you for bringing this to market
