One of the most sought-after variants of the final air-cooled 911, the Porsche 993 Carrera 4S shares its wide bodywork with the 911 Turbo and features a naturally aspirated 3.6-liter flat-six engine sending power to all four wheels. Equipped with a 6-speed manual transmission, this 1996 example is finished in Polar Silver Metallic over Midnight Blue upholstery. Options include heated front Sport Seats, the Hi-Fi Sound System, upgraded Bilstein suspension with Eibach springs, custom Fabspeed exhaust, and more. Showing approximately 126k kilometers or 78k miles on the odometer, this Canadian-market 993 C4S is now being offered for auction by its seller out of California.
Compared to the standard 993 Carrera, the Carrera 4S features the wider bodywork, bumpers, and stance of the 911 Turbo. This example is finished in Polar Silver Metallic (L92M) and rides on 18” Turbo Twist wheels wrapped in Pirelli P Zero Rosso tires, with the right rear tire recently replaced due to a cosmetic imperfection. Standard equipment includes integrated front fog lights, heated and power-adjustable mirrors, a speed-activated rear spoiler, red brake calipers, and dual exhaust outlets. The seller notes minor scratches on the wheels from tire removal, as well as a few small blemishes on the hood, windshield area, and fender. The rear quarter panel was previously repainted, with documentation from prior ownership, and the nose was reportedly repainted under current ownership. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.
The Midnight Blue partial leather interior features optional heated and power-adjustable front Sport Seats along with the Hi-Fi Sound System. Additional amenities include a Becker-Porsche CR-210 radio, cruise control, an electric sunroof, and a rear window wiper. The interior is described as being in exceptional condition, with only minor fading noted on the leather surfaces of the steering wheel and shift knob. Additionally, new Porsche floor mats have been installed, and the original mats will accompany the sale.
Factory-rated at 282 HP and 250 lb-ft of torque, the air-cooled flat-six engine delivers power to all four wheels through a 6-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. The seller highlights recent service items performed under their ownership, including air conditioning recharged, replacement of belts and spark plugs, a complete fluid flush including brake fluid, replacement of the front and rear lid shocks, installation of a new fuel filter, and a new battery.
This sale will include a clean title, owner’s manuals, a toolkit, a spare tire, a car cover, and the original mufflers and tailpipes.
The seller would like you to know: “I purchased the car in February 2023 from a dealer in Canada, who I thought was excellent. Since I have owned the car, I have had the underside dry-iced, had the nose painted due to small rock chips, and have had the car serviced twice by two Porsche mechanics. I am the only one who has driven the car since I have owned it, and I keep it very clean, and I do not smoke. The car smells and drives as it should. There are no warning lights or smoke, and everything works as it should. I am selling the car because I have a 1958 356 Super Cab that I will be getting back in the next month or so after a 3-year restoration. Please feel free to contact me with any questions. I have set a very realistic reserve on the car with the help of PCARMARKET.”

@carpair Thank you for your quick response. I will bid accordingly.
@mini1k my best explanation for the Canadian carfax report is that they were 0 dollar claims and there are no issues with the paint and body which would support that nothing happened. As to why it was reported, I don’t know. I did speak to Maranello Body Shop after I purchased the car and they thought a ladder possibly scratched the top of the fender but again there was no known original cause as to how it happened. Maranello did an excellent job with the paint. The bumper was removed to simply paint the fender correctly. I also had the front bumper removed when I had the nose painted for paint chips.
@carpair I am very interested in the 993 and would like some clarification before bidding.
Can you please provide more details on the collision history additional on what was documented on the BAT listing that you purchased from in Jan 2023?
The Carfax report provided by the selling Canadian Dealer shows collision on June 7, 1999 & May 26, 2001 per insurance records. Any additional information on this repair or damage?
What about the reason for the body work & paint job of passenger rear quarter panel & rear bumper per receipt dated 3/1/2022?
Thank you for your time.

Hi @UpnorthMN the oil has not dripped but it sweats in the normal spots and there has been no oil that has dripped onto the exhaust. My mechanic said if it starts smoking or burning oil than it will be time. When I bought the car, I was concerned about oil consumption and if it was burning oil, I was going to rebuild it. However, it has not burned any oil and the previous owner told me the same during his ownership. The car does not smoke and rarely will even smoke on a cold start. The car shifts very well and there is no hesitation. Again, I attribute that to the previous owners who knew how to properly drive stick shift. This is my 2nd 993 and both shifted very well. There is no vibration on the wheel as you can hopefully see in the driving video.
Could you tell us how the oil seeping referenced in the service receipts is looking at this time? Should be easy to see after the dry ice cleaning. Is it leaking on the exhaust or ground? Does it shift up and down through the gears without hesitation? How has the oil consumption been during your ownership? Finally, any vibration in the steering wheel at any speed? Thanks!
@supermoo yes you are correct. The car currently has a Fabspeed exhaust system along with the motor sound air box that also adds a little more rumble that you might hear. However, I also have the original mufflers, exhaust tips, and air box if you wanted to bring it back to stock. That will be included with the car.
@Carpair - Any chance there are different mufflers on the car? The car sounds a bit louder than other stock 993's I have heard. Wondering if the car has Fister mufflers on it maybe?

I'm interested bidder, I also have a very rare Porsche 356 B which has been featured in the Panorama magazine. I would like to talk about this car with you rather than post questions back and fourth. Would you mind if I call you prior to the auction end? Thanks, Todd
Hi guys- I was asked about the headlights and motor sound air intake. It does have xenon headlights and I have some extra bulbs along with the original air intake.

No- they are solid spokes. They are original to the car.
Are the wheels the hollow spoke ones?
Hi @Davidmcd2018 the car does have LSD and all the gauges work as they are intended including the stereo and 6disc cd player. I do not know for certain if the clutch has been replaced but it does not slip and it shifts through all gears easily including reverse. In January of 2023(less than 2k miles) the belts and plugs were replaced along with a compression test showing all cylinders were within range at between 170-175 on all cylinders. The AC blows cold which I showed in a photo with an infrared gun(photo 188). The AC system was recharged in the last service done July 2024 on the carfax report. I can’t find the invoice but there is a detailed work order that you can see on the carfax report provided by Pcarmarket
Do all gauges and electrics work as new including AC? Has the engine had a recent research, drive belt and new clutch? Does this car have a LSD? Really nice car.
Hello everyone and welcome to the auction. I will try my best to answer all of your questions. The car is currently titled in a Montana LLC and has not had a smog check. Since I have owned the car it has not burned any oil or smoke. I think we all support Jay!
