Up for auction is this 1996 Porsche 911 Carrera 4S with a 6-speed manual transmission.  The Carrera 4S is coveted for its perfect blend of a normally aspirated Carrera power plant and Turbo model shell, adding the functional wider body and larger brakes to its platform.  The seller acquired this example in 2014 only adding approximately 1k miles on the odometer in his five years of ownership.  This 993 currently reads 72k miles and is being offered with a clean bill of health out of Dallas, Texas.

This example is said to have had a high-quality repaint in its factory color of Polar Silver Metallic, which is nicely complimented by the Marble Grey interior.  The Carfax report does indicate an accident under the first owner’s possession in 2002; however, seller advises that the overall cosmetic and structural condition is described as excellent with only minor rock chips adorning the front end.  The seller orchestrated a 3rd party inspection to take place in which the results are currently posted in the photo gallery.

Inside, the original Marble Grey leather interior appears in excellent condition, exhibiting only marginal wear for the 72k miles traversed.  The leather stitched shift knob and boot also show very limited signs of wear indicative of the care this 911 has received over the past 23 years.  The factory optioned comfort seats show to be in excellent condition with only minimal creasing present.  Additional options include Hi-Fi sound system, electronic rear spoiler, power sunroof, headlight washers, and 18” factory turbo twist wheels with Porsche crests.  The seller indicates that the vehicles tires retain 75% tread life.

Power is delivered by way of a 3.6L aluminum horizontally opposed engine delivering 282HP and 250 lb-ft of torque to all four wheels by way of a 6-speed manual transmission.  A lightweight clutch, lightweight flywheel, and large red Turbo four piston brakes will provide a boost in performance during spirited driving.  The seller confirms that this 4S is currently in great mechanical condition with a recent "look over" from both Park Place Porsche and RAC Performance in which everything checked out excellent.  A recent oil and filter change just this month has been performed to give the next owner peace of mind.

A fine example of a very well cared for 993, this sale will include two keys, all books, factory tool kit, spare tire, car cover and extensive service records to back up the sellers description.

@jaynar the spark plugs have not been replaced. That said, all drive belts and all other related work has been done pertaining to 60k mike service. I can’t stress enough the quality of service this car has received since I’ve owned it. I’m the guy that always does the recommendations.

@dyingtrend During my ownership there have not been SAI carbon cleanings, no. I will look through the records I have later today and let you know if there have been in the past. The second to last sentence in the summary of the inspection it says there are no leaks present. Let me know if I can answer any other questions in the meantime. Thank you.

@Whavins I'm not sure if there is a way on here to share with me the inspectors number but yea that would be great of we could figure that out. I do not live in the dallas area but I might have someone who is be able to come take a look at the car in person. I will let you know for sure. Also I didnt notice it in the inspection report or in the description any leaks from the engine or anywhere else on the car, steering etc,... has there been any SAI carbon cleanings done?

    Thanks again, Chris

@dyingtrend I purchased the car in 2014. As the carfax states, the accident was not visible on the report until 2018 and apparently happened in 2002. I was just made privy to this when I went to put it on this website for sale. When I purchased the car, the PPI said nothing of an accident, only newer paint. This is the reason for lemon squad to do a third party inspection. The inspector said to me that he could not locate any indicators of an accident either. I can give you the inspectors phone number if there is a way to share it with you directly. You may call him and speak to him if you would like. In summary, I have no answers to your questions other than the paint is 92/100 in my opinion and the car has regular visits to the shop to ensure it's doing as well as possible mechanically. It has to be one of the best all around driving/mid mile 993 4S cars that can be found. If you're in the Dallas area, you're welcome to come drive it.

    Beautiful car GLWS

  • dyingtrend (registered bidder) 5 yearsago

What exactly happened in the accident? What portion of the car was involved? What if anything was replaced? Was this the reason the car was re sprayed? And documentation or pictures from any of this? Thanks, Chris
