Now up for auction is this 1996 Ferrari F355 Spider presented in the traditional combination of Rosso Corsa over a beige leather interior. Highlighting a sought-after 6-speed gated manual transmission connecting the driver to a naturally aspirated V8 engine, this F355 is said to be in excellent, highly original condition with a major engine-out service performed in 2017. Said to have spent its life in Florida up until very recently, this Spider is now being offered for auction by its seller in Los Angeles, CA with approximately 24k miles showing on the odometer.
The quintessential Rosso Corsa finish is reported to be beautifully presented and the front bumper is said to have been recently refinished for cosmetic purposes. The paint is believed to be otherwise original with only slight road-going wear indicated on the front end (detailed images are provided in the photo gallery). The F355 Spider was debuted as the first-ever Ferrari to be equipped with a power-operated cabriolet top, and the tan soft top on this example is said to be in good condition with typical signs of wear from being stowed. The original 18” 5-spoke wheels have been retained and feature Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires dated from 2017.
Inside, this Spider is appointed with a beige leather interior featuring a black dashboard and a coveted 6-speed gated shifter. The cabin is noted to be in very nice condition and the seller reports some minor separation of the upholstery on the airbag cover as well as some leather shrinkage on the dashboard. An aftermarket radio and K40 radar detector have been installed and the seller confirms all gauges and accessories to be fully functional except for the aforementioned radar detector.
This Spider is equipped with a mid-mounted 3.5 L V8 DOHC engine that sends 375 HP to the rear wheels through a visceral 6-speed gated manual transmission. All routine maintenance is said to have been addressed including a major engine-out service performed in 2017 at 22k miles which included a water pump rebuild, new timing components and belts, new motor mounts, new valves, and valve guides. More recently in October of 2020, this F355 received an oil service as well as a coolant and brake fluid flush at a cost of over $1,500. The seller is in the process of obtaining a California smog pass and the car is reported to be in fantastic running order.
This sale will include 1 master key, tools, some service records, and a clean title. Sporting its most iconic configuration, this 6-speed F355 Spider is not to be overlooked.

@Mother033 The cosmetic repair was due to the trifecta - rock chips, bottoming out, and a spider crack in the paint (not bumper). It was repaired 100% and matches perfectly. Buffed the whole car out after and it shines like a ruby now!
AC vents appear to be fixed in the forward blowing position when engaged.
@thrtllmrchnt
What was the paint cosmetic repair on the front? Is there a photo prior to the paint on this? Also, still interested in the AC comment in pic 122. Thanks @thrttlmrchnt
Less than one day left! Good luck to all.
BID TO WIN.
@Mother033 See comment below re AC vents.
@Bdautos AC vents appear to be fixed in the forward blowing position when engaged. The tow hook is not present...Must have been left in Florida. Working on a replacement, but no guarantee before the auction ends tomorrow.
@Bdautos I responded to someone else that I was going to look into the AC system tomorrow (I don't have the car at my house). I will investigate tow hook as well.
@AMS @ThrtllMrchnt The repair in 2020 stated it was towed into shop. Assuming it should be some where?
At 24460 miles repair dated 9-2020 it was stated that ac has issues switching blower location. It was set to front only. Can you confirm this issue?
@Bdautos Will check on tow hook tomorrow. I'm sure it's there. We bought it from the prior owner in Florida, a dealer. Yes, it's in Los Angeles now.
Noticed the tool kit picture is missing the tow hook. Do you have it? Also, noticed last service was Palm Beach FL. It is in CA now?

@Mother033 re pic 122, I will investigate this weekend when I am with the car and report back if anything appears out of order.
@AMS @ThrtllMrchnt thank you for the quick reply. Pic 122, “AC set manually to front vents only” was the reason for the question. Good point on old K40 radar. Very cool at the time, though
@Mother033 Lights operate properly? YES.
AC only dash vents? NOT SURE WHAT THIS MENAS, BUT THE A/C OPERATES NORMALLY.
Sticky buttons? THE BUTTONS ARE IN GOOD SHAPE AND NOT "STICKY."
Top operate normal? YES.
Stereo operate? YES.
Radar? NOT CURRENTLY CONNECTED, IT IS A "PERIOD CORRECT" UNIT AND WE DID NOT TAKE THE TIME TO DIAGNOSE SINCE IT PROBABLY ISN'T EFFECTIVE TODAY ANYWAYS.
No catalytic converter work necessary? NO, THE CATS ARE ALL GOOD. WE ARE WAITING ON OXYGEN SENSORS TO CHECK IN TO GET A CA SMOG.

@Bdautos Dude...come on lol...
@Bdautos PCar does not authorize sellers to disclose. I will represent that is it is LOW and you should bid to win. Use the Contact Seller function if you want to discuss a showing or a FaceTime if the car.
What is the reserve?
@Bdautos AC blows cold and the top operates as normal (slow, as with all F355s).
Have the issues with the air conditioning and top been taken care of? Looks like invoice from 2020 states repairs were declined.
CORRECTION: There are no owner's manuals with the car.
Just in case any of the prior F355 bidders are interested...

My gosh I could eat Xmas dinner on the undercarriage it's so clean. GLWS! Love these.
@dgpnaples My mechanic (and you should verify with yours), recommends a major every 6/7 years if properly maintained in between.
@dgpnaples It is not every 3 years for a major. If properly maintained, the intervals are much longer, but should always be done with the advice and involvement of a mechanic who knows their stuff This car was just serviced by some serious pros and we were told everything was in perfect shape for use. The reason it cost so much in 2017 is because the car was sitting for so long. Usually it is much more reasonable. Long story short, drive your Ferrari!
My understanding about the Ferrari 355 is that the major service has to be performed every 3 years IRREGARDLESS of the miles put on the car during that time. The Seller states ,"The major service conducted in 2017 cost over $40k and dealt with every aspect to make this car ready for YOU!" So I ask the Seller or any other member to comment on the cost of the maintenance service, even if it is only a belt service every three years. Never owning a 355 but wanting one, the 3 year service expense seems to be the obstacle for me. Thank you in advance.
Automotive Media Services is proud to present this beautiful 1996 Ferrari F355 Spider with the coveted 6-speed manual transmission. This car is dialed in and ready to roll! The major service conducted in 2017 cost over $40k and dealt with every aspect to make this car ready for YOU!
