The second-generation Dodge Viper (SRII) saw the introduction of a new GTS model in 1996, featuring a fixed double-bubble roof and a more powerful 8.0-liter V10 engine than its RT/10 roadster counterpart. This launch-year example is finished in the traditional combination of Viper GTS Blue with dual white racing stripes over a premium black leather interior. It has been a part of the current owner’s collection since 2015 and is now being offered for auction out of New York with just over 17k miles showing on the odometer.
The GTS was the first Viper coupe model, featuring a distinctively shaped “double bubble” roof designed to accommodate helmets during track days. The exterior uses composite body panels with fiber-reinforced skin over a tubular spaceframe and features a vented clamshell hood with a front NACA duct intake. Other equipment includes “Aero Polyellipsoid” halogen headlights, dual center exhaust outlets, an integrated rear spoiler, a polished external fuel filler, and “VIPER GTS” decals on the front fenders and rear bumper. This example is finished in the debut color of Viper GTS Blue with dual white racing stripes spanning the full length of the car. It rides on 5-spoke 17” aluminum wheels dressed in Michelin and Dunlop tires. The seller describes the exterior to be well preserved with one small chip noted on the driver’s door. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.
The black interior is appointed with premium leather high-back bucket seats and manually adjustable foot pedals as well as power windows, air conditioning, electronic keyless entry, and an original Alpine sound system. The GTS model was also the first Viper to receive airbags as standard equipment. The seller notes the check engine light is present on the dashboard due to a low battery which has been recently replaced, although the error code has not yet been cleared. A musty odor is also noted as the car is kept in garage storage for extended periods of time.
The Viper GTS is equipped with a naturally aspirated 8.0-liter aluminum V10 engine. Up to 450 HP and 490 lb.-ft of torque are sent to the rear wheels from a 6-speed BorgWarner T56 manual transmission and a limited-slip differential which launches the GTS from 0-60 MPH in approximately 4 seconds. The seller notes some routine service items have been addressed during their ownership and corresponding invoices will be included.
This sale will include some service records and a clean title.

Is the license plate frame drilled into the bumper?
@lacewoodbaylee the front tires are 2006 and the rear 2005. Within the last 500 miles the car underwent a service by a mechanic in Port Jefferson NY for every fluid and checked every system - the owner says that the service cost around $4500 - its been around 2 years since this service and ~500 miles - it has been garage kept.
Have any of the fluids been changed. Coolant, brakes flushed, transmission, rear differential ??? Date code on tires ?
