The iconic fourth generation of Toyota's Supra debuted in 1993 as part of the A80 program. Featuring a completely redesigned body and the venerable 3.0L 2JZ inline six-cylinder engine, the A80 Supra shares its platform with the Lexus Z30 Soarer. With borrowed subframe, suspension, and drivetrain assemblies, Toyota took extensive measures to achieve extreme weight savings and race-tuned performance abilities compared to its luxurious relative. Benefitting from a full restoration and refinish in Royal Sapphire Pearl, this example is now being offered for auction by its seller out of New Jersey showing approximately 67k kilometers (41k miles) on the odometer.
This example was originally ordered in White and has been professionally refinished in Royal Sapphire Pearl, at a reported cost of $20k. Despite the addition of dual airbags, traction control, larger brakes, and other innovations, weight savings was achieved with the use of aluminum throughout the body and a single pipe exhaust. Details include front and side intake scoops, a rear spoiler, and black-finished brake calipers featuring white Supra script. The 17” 5-spoke aluminum alloy wheels are dressed in new Nankang Noble Sport NS-20 tires. The seller notes new OEM plastic headlights have been fitted, the exterior has been fully ceramic coated, and a minor scratch on the lower front bumper measuring 2” is present. Detailed images are provided in the gallery.
The right-hand-drive cockpit features new black leather upholstery with blue stitching which covers the seats, dashboard, and center console. Equipment includes automatic climate control, power windows and door locks, and a touchscreen head unit.
The twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter 2JZ inline-six generates up to 276 HP and 318 lb-ft of torque for the Japanese model. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a 6-speed manual transmission and Torsen limited-slip differential, allowing for acceleration from 0-60 MPH in as little as 4.6 seconds. The seller adds that newly installed equipment includes a water pump, timing belt, fuel lines and fuel pump, adjustable suspension, sway bars, tie rods, bushings, seals, and upgraded intake piping and exhaust muffler. Addtionally, a non-turbo fan shroud has been fitted.
This sale will include a clean title.

@GTRKing Thanks for the note.
I agree, a nice example and looks very clean. And yes, you're right; it's absolutely an original RZ (GTE) car, just looks like the fan shroud was changed at one point.
Good luck with the sale!
@svtbait I’m not to a Supra guy I had the car restored by a reputable shop
My mistake on headlights
I’m not sure about the shroud for the fan
It’s definitely an original twin turbo car and the restoration came out amazing !!!
The car is all there and ready to go.
As someone that has owned several JZA80 Supras, I have a couple of questions and comments:
1) This car was originally silver, not white.
2) JDM S1 cars came with zero airbags while their US counterparts came with two.
3) Why does this car have the non-turbo fan shroud?
4) Those headlights look like (very nice) OEM S2 plastic headlights; they are listed as glass. Could the seller shed some light on this?
It's always nice to see a high quality repaint, where care has been taken to paint many areas that are typically skipped on a more affordable respray. For those who don't know, Royal Sapphire Pearl (8L5) is often considered to be the most coveted factory color of all on these fourth generation Supras!
