Available for auction is this 1995 Rover Mini Balmoral Edition finished in British Racing Green over a green and red tartan cloth interior. Named after the British royal family's Scottish estate, the Balmoral Edition Mini offered unique color and trim options, along with a tartan plaid interior treatment. This 1995 example was imported from Europe and features a power-operated sliding soft top, a wood-trimmed dashboard, 12” Minilite-style wheels, and a 1,275cc inline-four mated to a 4-speed manual transmission. It is now being offered for auction by its seller on the East Coast while showing just under 44k original kilometers (27k miles) on its odometer.
This Mini comes finished in the classic shade of British Racing Green with a beige pinstripe. The seller reports that minor scratches are visible beneath the rear bumper and that the front grill and some trim pieces show minor imperfections. A collection of detailed images can be found in the gallery. Equipment includes chrome bumpers, bolt-on fender flares, a polished fuel filler, “Balmoral Edition” badging, and a set of 12” Minilite-style wheels dressed in Nankang tires bearing from 2012. The seller adds that this Mini remains preserved in highly original condition.
The cabin is upholstered in green cloth with red and green tartan plaid inserts. The door panels are upholstered in matching fabric with leather door pockets as well as wood trim, while the floors are lined with black carpets. The seller notes that some aging of the wood trim and minor wear on the upholstery. Amenities include a power sliding soft top roof, a walnut wood dashboard, a three-spoke leather-wrapped steering wheel, a Pioneer cassette radio, roll-up front windows and pop-out rear windows, and a heater.
Power comes from a fuel-injected 1,275cc inline-four cylinder engine driving the front wheels by way of a close-ratio 4-speed manual transaxle. The Mini features four-wheel independent suspension, quick ratio rack and pinion steering, and power disc brakes. The seller reports that the car remains free of modification and there are no outstanding service items at this time.
