Representing the final evolution of the air-cooled Porsche 911, the 993 generation showcases technical advancements and an updated visual perspective with a newly designed light alloy subframe paired with coil and wishbone suspension. This inaugural year 993 Carrera Cabriolet comes finished in Iris Blue Metallic over Classic Grey upholstery and features an optional 4-speed Tiptronic transmission. It was also selected with heated power-adjustable hard-back Sports Seats, an active brake differential, automatic speed control, and more. Showing approximately 19k kilometers (~12k miles) on the odometer, this Canadian-market example is now being offered for auction on the seller's behalf out of Ontario.
This 993 is finished in Iris Blue Metallic with a blue cabriolet soft top. Details include a rear lid with an automatically extending rear spoiler, anodized black Carrera script, a taillight panel with red-reflective Porsche lettering, Cup-design mirrors, black-painted brake calipers, and a dual exhaust system with oval tailpipes. It rides on 17” Cup 2 tires wrapped in 50ZR17 Pirelli P-Zero Asimmetrico tires from 1995 and 1998. The seller states the left front fender and hood were resprayed and blended into the front of the driver's door in the car's early years, with no body filler reported. Additionally, a recent professional detailing has removed nearly all light surface marks. Some touched-up scratches are noted on the front fascia below the lower grille. The front lower valance is said to have been refinished, and the right front lower valance was reportedly replaced with a new Porsche-supplied panel. The original paint protection film along the rear fenders remains, and detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.
The cabin presents Classic Grey upholstery including desirable hard-back newer type Sports Seats with power-adjustability and seat heating. Other amenities include Tiptronic steering wheel-mounted shift controls, cruise control, a wind deflector, an AM/FM cassette stereo, and power windows, door locks, & mirrors. All gauges, electronics, and accessories are confirmed to be in proper working order, although the stereo sound is distorted. The under-hood sticker provides the following codes:
Power is delivered to the rear wheels via a 4-speed Tiptronic automatic transmission, which includes a manual shifting mode. The seller notes a recent oil change, installation of a new Porsche-supplied battery, and an outstanding recall for the convertible top front latches.
This sale will include a clean title, the owner’s manuals, a toolkit, a spare tire, an air pump, and a battery charger.
The seller would like you to know: “Thank you for visiting my auction. I am representing the current owner of this extremely low mileage preservation class 993 Cabriolet for this auction. The successful buyer will be dealing with the seller directly in terms of payment and the ownership (title) transfer. I will also be assisting throughout that process. I have been involved with this car since last year when it was still in the possession of the original owner. Though it has been in Ontario since new, it has never seen snow or salt and has always been properly stored in dry environments. We welcome any interested parties to inspect the car in person or via a local agent, it is just a matter of scheduling.”

@aic225 - The air conditioning and heating systems are working well (blowing hot and cold). As stated in the auction description, their is static coming from the original radio system. I had the owner go over it again today and the problem seems to be with the speakers, with a couple not working at all. He found an old cassette as well to test its operation as well and the radio would not even take it in. As such I'd assume both the radio and the speakers will require work to return them to peak 1995 operational condition.
@Ram3K - As mentioned we have no service records for the car and there is only the one stamp in the maintenance booklet. The car saw very little use after 2010 and had not been started for several years before the current owner's acquisition. With so little mileage there would not be much service work to do outside of oil changes (which is now up to date). A brake fluid flush would be in order as a preventative maintenance item (the brakes are working great, just a good idea to get fresh fluid in there).
Like the tires, I'm sure the V-bets are original, too. All other power accessories like the windows are working well. We have two keys/fobs with fresh batteries but one fob does not seem to be working. The working one does turn off the Drive Block system as required. The original spare fob battery is still in the owner's manual package!

@325ix - can you confirm everything works properly - a/c blows cold, all power features work properly, car has been maintained and serviced per Porsche recommendations ?
many thx
Does the HVAC system and radio function as they should?
Hello All! Welcome to the last day of the auction of this beautiful extremely low mileage Iris Blue 993 cab. I am standing by for any last minute questions should they arise.
One note to any potential bidders that are new. Despite the car's Canadian location, you are bidding in USD, the currency all PCarMarket auctions are carried out in.

@325ix - thx for the complete and prompt response.
@Ram3k - Thanks for your question. My main business is antique and classic car appraisals (for the past 21 years). I have been over the entire car with a magnet and paint gauge and there is no filler or evidence of any body repairs in the resprayed areas (outside of the replaced right front lower composite fascia panel in which I assisted in getting that repaired).
As mentioned I don' know the exact cause of the requirement for the respray of the hood, left front fender and the bleed into the driver's door, but it is paintwork only and I am sure it was simply cosmetic in nature. That is probably why it does not show up in the CarFax as there was no insurance claim related to it. The paintwork was done early in the car's life and finished to a very high level with no visible tells of the respray. It is only the paint meter readings that discovered it.
@325ix - did the owner ever have the car inspected or evacuated in regards to what caused the need for the re-spray ?
Are you able to confirm the car was not in an accident ?
Thx & GLWTA

Please note the last reading obscured by the camera flash is 7.48/1000ths and is from the hood.
@MstBFst - I don't know the exact circumstances that caused the repaint of the hood, left front fender and the bleed into the driver's door. I can say it is paint work only with no body filler used. I've uploaded some paint gauge readings. The thinner values are the original paint and the thicker values are the resprayed areas. readings are in thousandths of an inch.
The respray of the front valance was done in preparation for the sale as there was some noticeable scratches and scrapes present. These are composite pieces so no reading possible.
Let me know if you have any more questions!

What was the cause of the respray Are there paint meter readings available ?
@Ram3K – It is technically possible. You would have to set up your own insurance policy for the car ahead of arrival. Upon arrival we would have to go to one of our Ministry of Transportation offices where with the proof of Insurance so you could obtain a temporary trip permit. Since the car is leaving the province this would be in the form of a paper plate that is attached to the windshield. There will be some US customs forms to fill out at the US border as well so I would encourage you to research that up front. I would suggest hiring a broker to help with that. There will also be duty owed to US Customs, about 2.5% I believe.
With that said though, I would not recommend doing this with the car’s current tires. Remember these are the original tires from 1995 on the front and a set from 1998 on the rear. They are not suitable for any long distance drives at hi-way speeds. Their age is even apparent at lower speeds as they feel like they have some flat spots. They have a great look for shows and display, not so much for driving.
On a related note, the Ontario plates on the car in the photos are period correct for the car, but they do not belong to this car and are not included in the sale.
@325ix - is it possible to fly in and drive back to the US in the car ? If so, what does one have to do to be able to do that ?
Thx & GLWTA
Hello all again!
A couple of things not mentioned in the description;
1) The original canvas convertible to cover, for when the roof is down. is no longer present. The original owner had no recollection of what happened to it.
2) Unfortunately one of the air compressor case locking tabs broke after the auction photo was taken. I guess being opened and closed more times in the last few weeks than in the last 29 years did it in!
Hello all!
If anyone is wondering about the shipping process from Canada to the USA it is not onerous, especially if you use a professional transport company and broker.
I can personally recommend TFX International –
https://www.tfxinternational.com . They are based in Toronto and specialize in cross border shipping of collector cars. They own their own trucks and the drivers are employees. You can contact them directly to get a quote and ask about the process.
There are many other options as well you can find with a quick Google search.
@325ix I think you are right. Thanks for the explanation!
@Dodam7 - Just noticed the second discrepancy as well in 2001 related to another emissions test. Based on the numbers I'm thinking it may actually be the CarFax system mixing up kms vs miles in the conversions. The mileage progression is consistent if you convert the numbers the other way.
@Dodam7 - Regarding the mileages shown on the CarFaxm keep in mind they are showing both kilometers (what the car is reading in) and the equivalent in miles.
There is a mileage discrepancy on July 30th of 2004 from an emissions test center recording the wrong mileage (note the round number). The very next mileage reading is from the same day showing the correct value.
Hope this clears things up for you.
Hi the odometer readings are weird in the carfax. It goes down by the year.
@Skvintage - Unfortunately the original owner did not retain any of the service records. Considering the mileage and lack of any entries on the CarFax, I don't think there were many (or any) outside of oil changes. However, I do appreciate that it would have been better if we had them. The current owner and I completed the fresh oil change (with two new Porsche oil filters) and the new Porsche battery installation.
Do you have service records? If so, how far back do they date? Thank you
