A limited-edition Defender model made specifically for the North American market in the 1990s, the Land Rover Defender NAS (North American Specification) featured enhanced safety, emissions standards, and luxury equipment compared to other Defenders of the time. This example is one of approximately 1,700 Defender 90 NAS models imported to the U.S. for the 1995 model year and is finished in Beluga Black over grey vinyl and cloth upholstery. It derives power from a 3.9-liter V8 paired with a 5-speed automatic transmission and features a dual-range transfer case, ARB air-locking differentials, Equip skid plates, Terrafirma rear links, a front brush guard, a factory roll cage, inward-facing rear jump seats, a Uniden CB radio, and more. Purchased by the current owner in 2023, this Defender 90 NAS is now being offered for auction out of New York with approximately 229k miles showing on the odometer.

The NAS model comes factory-equipped with a front brush guard, side steps, a rear step, a full-size spare tire, and an external roll cage for soft top versions. This example has been refinished in Beluga Black and fitted with a replacement black canvas soft top. It rides on factory 16” silver five-spoke wheels dressed in Goodyear Wrangler Duratrac tires. The CARFAX report shows moderate damage sustained to the left front corner after an accident in 1996. Additional images are provided in the gallery.

The cabin features Charcoal cloth front bucket seats, patterned inward-facing rear jump seats, and black rubber floor mats. The driver is provided with air conditioning, an aftermarket touchscreen display, USB charging ports, a Uniden CB radio, Memphis speakers, a Lev-O-Gage, and a locking center console.

A 3.9-liter V8 engine delivers up to 182 HP and 232 lb.-ft of torque to all four wheels through a replacement 5-speed automatic transmission, a dual-range transfer case, and ARB air-locking differential with dual compressors. Modifications include front Johnny joints, Terrafirma rear links, a Corsetti A-frame, Equip skid plates, and an AlliSport radiator. The engine is said to have been overhauled under prior ownership and the seller notes the truck was originally equipped with a manual gearbox.

This sale will include a clean title.

    @Mccullum1 Howdy and happy Saturday.

    The receipts we have are pictured in the last 8 photos in the gallery. I believe the kit is an old man emu setup.

    As for the history of this truck:

    It was purchased two years ago by one of my clients in New York. I helped him locate it in Texas. It was owned by the owner of Hill Country British, a reputable Land Rover specialist in Texas. The parts listed on the invoice from hill country are the parts he used to refresh the motor on the truck as it was his personal car. The manual to auto conversion was also allegedly done at hill country. The only mods done under my “tenure” are the aftermarket head unit, sound system, and rear seatbelts.

    It then came to my client in New York, who enjoyed it for a few summers before deciding to sell it.

    The current owner found our listing privately, acquired it from us, and I have remained its “custodian” loosely under the current owners ownership as well.

    I’ve done countless miles in this rover and it has yet to let me down. I have done multiple trips from our warehouse in CT to the Hamptons in Long Island in this truck, always a blast!

    Thanks!

    Do you have specific information on the lift installed? Can you tell me about the manual to auto conversion and/or any receipts available for service work?
