Now available is this 1995 BMW E34 525i Touring finished in Alpine White over a Black Bison leather interior. Introduced in 1989, the third generation E34 5-Series is considered among the most reliable and well-built BMWs of all. The E34 was also the first 5-series offered in an estate configuration, a long-roofed 5-door wagon with a rear tailgate and unique dual sliding sunroofs. This E34 Touring was originally purchased in Maricopa, California, and was sold to the second owner in San Jose with 29k miles in 2000, where it was stored in a barn up until being acquired by the seller in 2021. Under the seller's care, this E34 received a full inspection of all mechanical components and a subsequent overhaul of the ignition system, air conditioning, and fuel system. Now showing just over 31k miles on the odometer, this 525i Touring is being offered for auction by its seller out of California.
This 525i is finished in Alpine White (300) and features integrated fog lights, black side moldings, and flush roof rails. The seller notes the car has been well preserved with VIN tags remaining in place on body panels as well as the original BMW Sicursiv glass. Some minor blemishes are present throughout the exterior and the finish has begun to fade on the wheels and roof rails, additional images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report. The original 15” BMW Style 5 wheels are mounted with new BF Goodrich Radial T/A tires, including the full-size spare located below the floor of the cargo area.
The interior is upholstered in Black Bison leather with 10-way power-adjustable front seats, walnut wood trim, and a light gray headliner. Amenities include a dual sliding sunroof with independent shades, 2-stage heated seats, dual-zone automatic climate control, pull-out cargo nets, a cargo privacy cover, onboard computer, cruise control, and a 10-speaker sound system with a trunk-mounted 6-CD changer and factory AM/FM cassette stereo. The original car phone will also accompany the sale.
The E34 525i is powered by a 2.5L M50 inline six-cylinder engine, which was factory rated at 189 HP and 184 lb.-ft of torque. Power is directed to the rear wheels through a 4-speed GM 4L30-E automatic transmission with Economy, Sport, and Manual shift modes. Upon acquisition by the current owner, this E34 Touring was thoroughly inspected and was subject to an overhaul of the fuel system, including flushing of the fuel tank and fuel lines as well as refurbishment of the ignition system, a new battery, new tires, and an oil and filter change.
This sale will include a clean title, original owner’s manuals and literature, a toolkit, and a cassette deck cleaning kit. Highly sought after and very rarely seen with low mileage, this E34 525i Touring presents an excellent opportunity to own a classic BMW estate.

The 1995 BMW 525iT Sport Wagon offered here is something of a unicorn: only two owners and 31,000 miles from new. Purchased originally in Maricopa, California the first owner owned the car for four and a half years before selling the car on in 2000, showing 29,383 on the odometer. The second owner drove the car only 2,000 miles before storing it in his substantial garage in the warm dry hills near San Jose. A true barn find.
Liberated from storage last summer, the car was subject to a full re-commissioning, including a new battery and an overhaul of the spark system and substantial service to the fuel injection system. The gas tank and all fuel lines were flushed, brakes and suspension inspected, fluids checked, and a new set of 5 BF Goodrich Radial T/As installed along with an oil and filter change.
The car starts easily and idles perfectly smoothly and quietly. Acceleration is brisk, and the mid-range torque makes freeway overtaking effortless, while brakes are very effective and the car handles as a BMW should. If you don’t ever look in the rear-view mirror, you simply won’t know you’re piloting a wagon and not a car. At no time, even in hard cornering does that extra weight make the Touring feel top- or tail-heavy.
The exterior condition of the car is truly excellent overall. The car’s body panels are all marked with the original VIN tags, and their fit is as-new. The all-original Alpineweiss paint is excellent with only minor blemishes, conducive with mileage. The original glass is perfect. The alloys are suffering minor chrome loss. The roof rack rails also have some loss to the black finish. The car features the industry’s first dual sliding sunroof(s). A front panel and a rear panel can be opened and closed independently or in tandem by a single control.
The interior is also in excellent condition throughout. Carpet, panels, and dash are free of wear. Seat surfaces are exceptionally good with only the minor wear of a 30,000-mile car. The walnut trim is perfectly as new. The heater and all electrical systems are fully operational, including all lighting, the stereo system, with the 6-CD Changer mounted in the trunk, 2-stage heated seats, electrically adjusted seats, mirrors and windows, while the freshly serviced AC system blows cold. The original phone, however, is just for display.
The car is accompanied by a full complement of tools, books and manuals, a bottle of Montana leather care and sample, CD and cassette, plus cassette deck cleaning kit.
Please note that the registration was suspended, so no back-fees are due for a California buyer.
