We are very pleased to offer this rare 1994 Porsche 964 Speedster finished in Black over a black leather interior.  Harking back to the original 356 Speedster of the 1950s, the 964 Speedster was introduced in October of 1992 based on the Carrera 2 and features unique styling with a short, steeply raked windshield and double-hump tonneau cover over the rear. One of only 427 examples delivered to the U.S., this 1994 Speedster is said to have spent its life between private collections and is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Oregon showing approximately 20k miles on the odometer.

This Speedster comes finished in Black with a matching retractable soft top.  The right-rear quarter panel is believed to have been previously refinished and the seller describes the paint to be otherwise very well preserved, detailed images are provided in the gallery along with paint meter readings and a clean CARFAX report.  The factory 17" Cup wheels are currently dressed in a set of Continental ExtremeContact DW tires.

The Speedster's interior is shared largely with the Carrera RS including a rear seat delete, lightweight door panels, and painted hardback Recaro bucket seats. This example is appointed with black leather and features air-conditioning, power windows, and an aftermarket head unit paired with upgraded speakers in the doors.

The air-cooled 3.6L flat-six engine is factory rated at 247 HP and drives the rear wheels by way of a 5-speed G50 manual gearbox. The brakes and suspension setup are derived from the Carrera 2. There are no service records available, and the seller reports no outstanding maintenance items at this time.

This sale will include a clean title. One of the rarest and most exotic 964's of all, the elusive Speedster model is a must-have for any Porsche collector.

@Mvah000 We replaced the fluids on the car. The car came out of a collection and has seen less than 500 miles in the last couple years.

    Hello beautiful car!

Can you please post some pictures with the top up?

A few years ago visiting Weissach the Director of the GT Department asked me which car was my favorite through so many cars and so many years. Without hesitation I said it was my 964 Speedster. I further stated that it's everthing a Porsche should be, light, quick and fun. For too long these cars have been undervalued and underappreciated.

I own mine from Euro delivery in September 1993 and still drive it all the time. In 2017, on a whim, I drove it from south Florida to Carmel in 3-1/2 days. No prep, no problems and at least for a few miles, a sustained GPS speed of 137mph.

This car has proper Speedster seats. Back in the day, the combination of a low roof line and a high fibreglass bolster seemed uncomfortable to many buyers. In these cases, Porsche replaced the original seats with standard seats, at no charge, and then sold the Speedster seats as "parts obsolescence" for $100/seat. I know, I bought 3 pair. $15-25k now?

In addition, it is the last production Porsche, and maybe the last production roadster of any manufacturer, built without an "A" pillar. The driving experience harkens back to roadsters of the '50's and early 60's. Yet it is a modern car short radio/bluetooth and brakes. FYI, my A/C remains excellent.

The top takes some finesse but once you know it, unlike the '89 Speedster, it works very well. I've seen blizzards, driving rainstorms etc. Store the car with the top up to minimize shrinkage. I also want to point out that this car is very very close in weight to a 964 RS. The narrow body is always lighter. This particular car to me looks a great example of a wonderful 911. Good luck to all bidders. And no, I don't know the seller...but even after more than 28 years I'm still excited about these cars.

@seller: I'd like to bid but one of the issues with 964's is leaking engines. Please add some pics of the underside of the engine with the belly pans removed. It's only a few screws and maybe 20 minutes of work but it would help a lot. The belly-pans catch the oil of the leaking engines and from underneath all looks good, but most (or rather all) of these original, never resealed engines leak which means a complete disassembly and lots of work/costs involved to correct this annoying problem. Thank you very much.
