Up for auction is this 1994 Porsche 928 GTS finished in Polar Silver Metallic over Classic Grey leather. The ultimate high-performance version of the Porsche 928, the GTS made its debut in 1991 featuring widened fenders, larger brakes, and a more powerful 5.4L V8 engine. This 1994 GTS is one of only 139 North American examples produced for the model year and comes factory equipped with an optional sliding sunroof, increased air conditioning, supple leather seats, 4-speed automatic transaxle, and protective side moldings. Service carried out over the past two years totals over $30k in receipts, and the car has also been upgraded with a custom 1000-watt stereo system. This rare concours-winning 928 GTS is now being offered for auction by its owner out of Virginia showing approximately 84k miles on the odometer.
This 928 comes finished in Polar Silver Metallic, one of the quintessential Porsche colors of the 1990s. The GTS can be distinguished from a standard 928 S4 by its flared rear fenders, painted rear spoiler, Cup design mirrors, and red taillight panel. This example was also ordered with optional protective side moldings and rides on a set of staggered Cup 2 wheels sized 17" in front and 18" in the rear. The right-front fender had been previously refinished, and the paint is described to be in outstanding overall condition apart from a few small scratches. The seller adds that this 928 has been awarded at multiple PCA concours events as well as 1st place at the annual Deutsche Marque Concours d'Elegance in Virginia. Additional images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.
Inside, you will find a Classic Grey interior with optional supple leather seats and matching carpets. Factory equipment includes optional increased air conditioning for the rear compartment as well as an electric sliding sunroof, front-seat lumbar support, and full power accessories. A custom 1000-watt Morel stereo system was installed under the current ownership including 10 upgraded speakers, subwoofers, and an amplifier in place of the factory CD-changer. The A/C system has also been rebuilt under the current ownership. Intermittent issues are reported with the oil pressure gauge.
The 5.4L V8 DOHC engine includes four valves per cylinder and delivers up to 345 HP and 369 lb.-ft of torque to the rear wheels through a 4-speed automatic transaxle. The GTS comes standard with larger black-painted 4-piston aluminum brakes and this example benefits from more robust connecting rods introduced during the 1994 model year. An aftermarket carbon fiber strut brace has been installed in the engine compartment along with a decorative Porsche crested oil cap. The seller reports over $30k were invested in refurbishment over the past two years including a major engine-out refresh and timing belt replacement. The seller adds the car spent 6 months under the care of 928 expert Heinz Peters to ensure all maintenance items were up to date. All corresponding records and invoices are said to accompany the sale.
This sale will include a set of two keys, owner's manuals, service records, concours accolades, and a clean title. One of the rarest and most sought-after transaxle Porsches of all, this meticulously cared for 928 GTS awaits its next owner.

It's so surreal to see an antique plate on such a beautiful and modern looking (in my opinion) car. It makes me feel very old.
This is by far one of the cleanest Porsche 928 GTS on the market today. I know this car and I can tell you that there isn’t a single thing that wasn’t done to this car both mechanically and cosmetically. It is a first place winner at the car shows and the polar silver is a beautiful silver with an icy blue hue. So much nicer than standard GT silver. If it meets reserve, someone will be getting one fantastic 928 GTS here.

Thanks for everyone's interest in this incredible vehicle. There is so much little items that go into these cars to get them sorted. If you have strong interest in the car I would suggest reaching out to Roger Tyson the owner of 928s R US. He knows the car very well and all the maintenance that it's been through and the preventative ones as well.

@1991928gt yes, the solution for that on the 928's is the Ritech clamp which was done alongaide the other work.
Was a crank shaft walk test ever done?

@Maui928 Thank you, so much goes into these cars.
Yes, that was serviced at the same time as everything else a few years ago
@RedDoorMetro Nice to see that the Ritech clamp was installed. That is one big worry that the next owner doesn’t have to lose sleep over. Intake refresh and lots of the other regular maintenance items have been covered as well to give the next owner piece of mind. Typical electrical gremlins and the inner fender covers has been addresses as well. Great job seller! The only other main item I can think of is when was the PSD system last serviced?

@Maui928 I have owned several 928. This one had the powder coating on the top of the engine starting to flake off which happens very often. So it started out getting that powder coated and then evolved into doing everything in between. Items were changed that didn't need to be changed but we're due to be changed to the age. When I get home this evening I will go ahead and take pictures of each of the pages in the catalog. Also if you're interested in the car I would suggest you contact Rodger Tyson of 928 R Us. He is the leading person and he knows all about this car as all parts were purchased from him
Hi seller, what was the reason for the engine-out refresh? Can you add pictures of the receipts to the gallery so we can see what work was done? GLWTA!
I've seen this car at 928 Frenzy Events outside DC area the past few years. Beautiful example, the owner is a classy guy, has some very nice cars, always up on service with proper replacement parts. If anyone wants info on the seller or car, I recommend looking on 928-specific sites. 928 enthusiasts are a honest about cars they know.
