Towards the end of Porsche 964 production, the few remaining 911 Turbo chassis were transferred to Porsche’s Exclusive Department, where they were hand-built to Turbo S specifications and given the unique customer option of “Flachbau” bodywork inspired by the iconic 930 Slant Nose. This 1994 example is one of 39 Porsche 964 Turbo S models delivered to the U.S. in Flachbau (X85) configuration, and it is among only 76 units produced in total. It was delivered new to Classic Automobiles, Inc. of Tuckahoe, New York, factory-finished in Grand Prix White over a Cashmere Beige leather interior with optional Light Rootwood trim pieces and heated power-adjustable supple leather seats. After residing within the Blackhawk Collection in California, this 964 joined the famed White Collection in 2016, where it was displayed among other museum-grade Porsches and featured in numerous publications. Acquired by the seller in 2024, this exceptionally rare 964 Turbo S Flachbau is now being offered for auction out of Florida with only 45 delivery miles showing on the odometer.

The U.S.-market Flachbau bodywork was designated by internal production code "X85" and consists of flat front fenders with pop-up headlamps, RS-style front brake cooling ducts, front lip splitters, rear fender air inlets, and a body-colored rear spoiler. The Turbo S also features unique quad-tipped exhaust outlets and polished 18” Speedline Cup three-piece wheels. This example is believed to be one of only two X85 Flachbau models finished in Grand Prix White. Equipment includes headlamp washers, power mirrors, an electric sliding sunroof, a rear window wiper, and red Porsche-branded brake calipers. The seller notes that the exterior is preserved in excellent original condition. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.

The cabin is appointed with Cashmere Beige leather upholstery and matching carpets complemented by optional Light Rootwood trim for the dashboard, instrument panel, shifter knob, and parking brake handle. Accessories include optional heated and power-adjustable seats in supple leather, adjustable front seat lumbar support, power windows, a central locking system, automatic climate control, cruise control, and a Porsche-branded cassette stereo.

The turbocharged and intercooled 3.6-liter M64/50 flat-six engine is factory-equipped with the X88 Powerkit, adding revised camshafts, cylinder heads, fuel injectors, tuning, an auxiliary oil cooler, and a larger turbocharger for an output of 380 HP and 384 lb-ft of torque. The rear wheels are driven through a 5-speed G50/52 manual transaxle and a limited-slip differential, while stopping is handled by fixed 4-piston brake calipers and cross-drilled discs at each corner.

This sale will include a window sticker, a toolkit, a spare tire, a tire inflator, and a clean title.

The seller would like you to know: “This is a one-and-only delivery-mile 1994 turbo S Flachbau in existence, I believe only 39 of these were brought to the states and about 70ish total, this is a true unicorn, irreplaceable piece and amazing piece to any great Porsche collection!”

Watching those headlights open sent a tingle down my leg.

$500,000 would merely be an opening bid at any traditional auction house for this car. Borneo has no clue as to the actual value of it, thus their gibberish commentary. The final bid will have an extra comma in it. Then how suspect will it look? Rhetorical.

@borneo What's suspect about my bid? IF this was no a no reserve auction, then sure maybe you could make that argument. Go back and look at the sellers other auctions, I've never bid on a single one. Was it suspect when the bid was less than $1000 and I upped the bid by 100 times? I would bet the amount of my bid that the reserve is a 7 figure number.

@993-TT, @GoYanks99....the Porsche world remains a bit of a mystery to me. I do have a wonderful '05 911 Turbo S cab. It is quite fast, powerful and stable. I visited the white auction and now understand the provenance of this car quite a bit better. We all zero in on what we like as collectors. I can see a 993 Turbo S in my garage, but would have to clear some F cars first to make r$$m.
I have a friend here who has 5 rare 911's, all with under 3,000 miles.
The delivery miles phenomena seems to me to be a US basis only as my european friends all drive there cars, ALOT, regardless of their value. Nothing like seeing a 275 GTB flying past you, stone chips be damned.
Yes even in a soft economic environment this car should bring into the 7 figures.
These forums are always an opportunity to learn from those with much more experience in the marque and for this I remain grateful. Beautiful day here in Virginia and time to get out there and drive !!

@borneo not suspect at all, do you know what this car is worth? Price is not even close at the moment. Putting mileage on the car is not a problem why wouldn’t you want to drive it and enjoy.

If I had F.U. money, I would buy this and daily drive the piss out of it! Poor car, stuck in a museum.

  • davenichols (registered bidder) 2 days, 3 hoursago

Wow, does it get any better than this one ?

    @drwtsn32 yes will be added

  • GoYanks99 2 days, 6 hoursago

@borneo not suspect to me. car is worth more than that anyway

  • borneo (registered bidder) 2 days, 7 hoursago

Always make me suspect when the bid quadruples 5 days out from the auction end. Iconic design and agree that a total unicorn. My problem is that if I were to purchase the car, after a fluid flush and everything check, I'd double the mileage day 1.

Could you please post photos of how the headlights work from inside the frunk and under the front fenders?

@GravyTrain we purchased it from Rm Sothebys back in 2023 from the white collection sale , and sold it to a client , and now just traded back to us !

  • GravyTrain (registered bidder) 3 days, 21 hoursago

@mildcollectionllc it means that this level of car is shocking. I would thought some big baller would have scooped this up already.

  • mildcollectionllc (seller) 3 days, 21 hoursago

@mildcollectionllc you know it had estimate of like 2MM right ? Thought that it actually sold
For under value comsidering how rare and what it is , and also considering how high everything sold for at that auction

  • mildcollectionllc (seller) 3 days, 21 hoursago

@GravyTrain what does that mean haha , where is it supposed to be ?

  • GravyTrain (registered bidder) 3 days, 21 hoursago

    Unreal. How is this here?

  • mildcollectionllc (seller) 4 days, 1 hourago

@momotime you are correct sir , the only thing is , is there’s nothing else like it ever sold at auction or anywhere else , , we know of a few flachbau with 4-20k miles that transacted for over 1.2-1.4 without auctions , but we’ll see what happens here

  • zero9nine 4 days, 1 hourago

Bid in the amount of $964

  • momotime (registered bidder) 4 days, 2 hoursago

This car was the one that sold at The White White Collection for a world record high price of $1.4M crazy amount paid even back then so let’s see what it sells ( or does not sell) in this auction.
