A sports car icon of the 1990s and one of the most sought-after air-cooled 911s ever produced, the Porsche 964 Turbo 3.6 features distinctive wide bodywork, 18” Speedline wheels, “Big Red” Brembo brakes, and a turbocharged 3.6-liter M64 flat-six rated at 360 HP. One of 1,437 examples produced in total, this 1994 Porsche 964 Turbo 3.6 came factory-finished in the Paint to Sample color of Silver Metallic over a Black leather interior. It was originally sold in New York and was imported from California to Japan in 2009 before moving to Hong Kong and eventually settling in Canada in 2016. The car has since undergone extensive refurbishment and upgrades, including a complete repaint in its original color, new leather upholstery, rebuilt brake calipers, upgraded Ohlins coilovers, a B&B exhaust system, and a full split-case engine rebuild with upgraded hardware. This outstanding 964 Turbo 3.6 is now being offered for auction with less than 63k miles showing on the odometer.

The 964 Turbo features wider fenders than a contemporary Carrera model, along with a fixed "Tea Tray" rear spoiler, red Porsche-branded brake calipers, and 18” Speedline Cup three-piece wheels. This example underwent a complete glass-out repaint in its original Paint to Sample color of Silver Metallic (982) along with replacement of the rubber seals, gaskets, plastic sill trim, taillights, and H4 headlamp lenses. The brake calipers have been re-powdercoated, the full exterior is covered by clear paint protection film, and new OEM 18” Speedline wheels have been installed with Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.

The black full leather interior has been refreshed with new leather upholstery for the dashboard, a new leather shift knob and parking brake handle, a new OEM three-spoke RS/930S leather steering wheel, and a new Porsche Classic (PCCM) head unit. The original supple leather comfort seats were replaced with power-operated leather Sport Seats under previous ownership. Other accessories include power windows and mirrors, a central locking system, automatic climate control, cruise control, and an electric sunroof.

The turbocharged and intercooled 3.6-liter M64 flat-six engine was factory-rated at 360 HP and 384 lb-ft of torque. It drives the rear wheels by way of a 5-speed G50 manual transaxle and a limited-slip differential. The suspension has been upgraded with Ohlins coilovers, and the Brembo 4-piston brake calipers have been rebuilt. A full split-case engine rebuild was performed, including machined heads, new OEM valves and retainers, new Mahle rings and bearings, a new timing chain, chain ramps, gaskets, ARP head studs, ARP case bolts, oil lines, and miscellaneous hardware. The GT2 lightweight flywheel was re-machined, a new OEM clutch was installed, and the turbocharger was inspected for proper operation.

This sale will include a toolkit, a spare tire, and a Canadian registration.

Absolutely gorgeous car. I have its Irish twin. Never disappoints. Best purchase I have ever made. Leaves me grinning ear to ear whenever I drive it.

    Update on Import Tariffs

    Hi all,

We’ve spoken with multiple import brokers and received mixed responses regarding the applicable tariffs. Some have stated the rate is 2.5%, while others advised it is 15%. Based on the most recent information we’ve gathered, it appears this car is indeed subject to a 15% tariff in total (inclusive of the standard 2.5%).

We sincerely apologize for any confusion, but unfortunately this is completely outside of our control. Even though the car is an original U.S. delivered example and over 25 years old, it still falls under the 15% tariff classification. We’ve also been informed that CBP has recently begun reassessing prior imports - owners who initially paid only 2.5% are now receiving follow-up bills for the remaining 12.5%. I’ve personally seen this happen on a 993 import just now.

We’ll continue to share updates if we receive any further clarification from customs or brokers. Please let us know if there are any further questions. Thank you everyone!

    @autosportclassic - thank you

  • autosportclassic (seller) 2 days, 13 hoursago

@TheMoose Everything is in the invoices and has been written in the description. The only "modification" would be the Porsche wheel and the sport seats. Please let us know if you have any other questions!

  • TheMoose (registered bidder) 2 days, 14 hoursago

@autosportclassic thanks for the reply. Are there any other modifications/changes that have been made that aren't described in the listing?

  • autosportclassic (seller) 2 days, 14 hoursago

@TheMoose It has been changed to the OEM three-spoke RS/930S wheel without the airbag. From factory this car would have come with an airbag wheel. For the winning bidder, we can easily source an airbag wheel if they wish.

  • autosportclassic (seller) 2 days, 14 hoursago

@Zoomnbyu Yes, as it has been outside of the US for over 3 years. If it was returning within 3 years, there would be no 2.5% import duty, however, the rest of the small fees would apply. Hope this helps!

  • autosportclassic (seller) 2 days, 14 hoursago

@ngnsd Our client is extremely particular and wanted the car to present at a concours level, which is why it received a respray to address only a few rock chips and scratches. He prefers everything to be absolutely flawless, and as you can see from the invoices, $130k + was invested to bring the exterior, interior, and mechanicals to the highest possible standard.

We have just uploaded photos of the car prior to the respray to show the condition before the work was done. Many owners would never go to these lengths, and it’s unlikely you will ever find another 964 Turbo presented in this level of condition. Thank you!

Is that the correct steering wheel for a US spec car? Or would it have been changed from the airbag when it when to Japan?

  • Zoomnbyu (registered bidder) 2 days, 18 hoursago

@autosportclassic since it was originally a US spec car in Cali are you sure all those fees would apply?

  • ngnsd (registered bidder) 3 days, 9 hoursago

It sounds like it lived a hard life with paint, interior and an engine rebuild with those miles but it is looking good now.

Here is an overview of what is needed to getting the car into the US:

    - Shipping: Low 4 figures (Dependant on state)
    - Entry Fee: $350
    - MPF (Merchandise Processing Fee): 0.03464% of the Purchase Price
    - Customs Bond: $450
    - Duties: 2.5% of Purchase Price

We have just confirmed from our broker that there is no 15% EU tariff on this vehicle. It is originally a USA delivered car coming from Canada. Please read below:

9903.94.04:  Applies to all entries of passenger vehicles and light trucks from all countries classifiable in the headings or subheadings listed above that were manufactured in a year at least 25 years prior to the year of the date of entry.
0% additional ad valorem rate of duty.
There is duty on the 8703.24.0190 which is 2.5% plus MPF.

We completely understand the tariffs are very confusing, but we have already done a few transactions between the US and Canada so we are able to navigate. 25% tariff applies to cars to anything NEWER than 25 years old. This car is exempt. Please let us know if there are any further questions! We are more than happy to assist.

Excluding the comment about needing to ask; I'm serious and need to ask as there is a 15% tarriff on cars coming in from Europe in addition to the 2.5%. Selle, do you know the current Tarriff for cars from Canada?
