A special version of the Carrera 2 with only 936 examples produced in total, the 964-generation 911 Speedster features a shortened windscreen and a unique double-hump convertible top cover. This 1994 Porsche 911 Speedster is one of 427 that were built for the U.S. market and comes finished in Black over a matching leather interior with factory Recaro RS bucket seats and yellow accents. It features a 5-speed G50 manual transaxle, an upgraded Fabspeed exhaust, a performance ECU chip, and an upgraded suspension with RS-style adjustable sway bars, a strut tower brace, Bilstein dampers, and Eibach springs. The car was first registered in California and spent time in Florida prior to the owner’s acquisition in 2017. This rare 964 Speedster is now being offered for auction out of California with approximately 52k miles showing on the odometer.
The 911 Speedster received a shorter windscreen than the standard 964 and features a manually operated convertible top that stows beneath a fiberglass double-hump panel. This example is finished in Black and rides on factory 17” Cup alloy wheels. Other equipment includes a periscope-style third brake light, front fog lights, dual aero mirrors, colored Porsche crest wheel center caps, black brake calipers with white Porsche lettering, and a speed-activated rear spoiler. The seller notes that the wheels were refinished in preparation for sale along with the installation of new Continental ExtremeContact tires. The rear decklid emblem was replaced in 2019 and the front bumper cover, fenders, and hood were refinished for stone chips in 2000. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.
The Speedster’s interior came without rear seats and features lightweight door panels with cloth pull straps which were derived from the Carrera RS along with a pair of fixed-back Recaro bucket seats. This example is appointed with a black leather interior complemented by original multi-tone grey seats and a contrasting yellow instrument panel, handbrake, seatbelts, and door handles. Other features include an RS-style leather-wrapped three-spoke steering wheel, black carpet floor mats with yellow "Speedster" embroideries, power windows and mirrors, air conditioning, a locking glovebox, a cassette holder, upgraded Focal speakers, and a Porsche Classic Communication Management (PCCM) head unit with Bluetooth, navigation, and USB inputs. The seller indicates that the seatbelts were replaced in 2013. The seller adds that the original yellow leather shift knob is included with the sale.
This 964 is equipped with an air-cooled 3.6-liter M64 flat-six engine that was originally rated at 247 HP and 228 lb.-ft of torque. Power is sent to the rear wheels by way of a 5-speed G50 manual transaxle. The engine has been upgraded with a performance ECU chip and an aftermarket Fabspeed exhaust. The suspension has also been lowered and modified with adjustable RS-style sway bars, a front strut brace, Bilstein dampers, and Eibach springs. The seller indicates a service was completed in 2014 including a valve adjustment along with new valve cover gaskets and spark plugs. Another service in 2017 included a new clutch, pressure plate, throwout bearing, flywheel, and rear crank seal. The car's original catalytic converter is said to accompany the sale.
This sale will include the original shift knob and catalytic converter, a toolkit, a spare tire, service records, and a clean title.

Thanks everyone for the bids!

I have truly enjoyed this 964. The right exhaust note, great eyeball, ongoing value appreciation too. While the 89 can get the eyes sometimes because of the wide fenders, the real Speedster guys know that a true Speedster is narrow!

@wob. Please post a photo of the engine number.
Black car photographed in a black background may be artsy, but I think some outdoor photos in a natural setting would help sell the car. To me it just looks Vader as presented.
@dennisconnie2 happy to add more great pics
