The 964 3.6-litre turbo was the last and first in such significant areas of Porsche technology and design that it has become one of the most iconic cars in Porsche history. You will be hard pressed to find any world class Porsche collection without one.
Only 1,427 examples were built for the model years 1993 and 1994. Car & Driver magazine said this about the car when it was released: “The result is a seamless torrent of predictable, controllable acceleration. If the old car's power came on like the cannons in the William Tell Overture—late, and all of a sudden—then the new one feels more like a Wagner crescendo”. The performance of the car was unprecedented when released in 1993 but is still impressive to today’s standard.
The 3.6 Turbo offered for auction here is clearly one for the discerning collector. The car was delivered new to a well-known race car driver at the Porsche factory in Stuttgart. Following his European delivery experience, he shipped the car to Ohio. He sold the car in 1996 only to repurchase it from the same owner in 2001. The car has been kept in his private collection until being sold to the current owner in 2012. The car has been in a known Porsche Collection since, traveling under 1K miles in that time. Upon purchasing the car, the current owner/seller performed the following work on the car; Front brakes and rotors, refinished all 4 calipers, replaced all rubber on body sills, new taillight and reflector lenses, new engine lid shocks, and more. The car is currently in perfect running condition.
The original Speed Yellow paint is in like-new condition. Upon very close inspection, there are some hairline stress marks on the rear bumper. The current owner installed a brand-new set of factory Speedline wheels when he purchased the car. The original wheels will be included with the sale.
The Black partial leather interior is also in like-new original condition. The special ordered ultra-rare Sport Seats and very sought-after Sunroof Delete option, set this car apart from most other 3.6 Turbos. All electronic components such as factory radio, air conditioning, and power windows work as they should.
The car comes with a substantial folder of all original documents including original build sheet, copy of window sticker, C of A, import and European shipping documents, tourist delivery papers, original service book, factory research papers, a 3.6 collector medallion, and much more.
Power comes from a 3.6-liter turbocharged flat-six (M64/60) developing a healthy 408 hp and propels the car to 60mph in a blazing 4 seconds. The car is equipped with ABS, assisted braking, and power steering.
As the photos show, this car is in number 1 condition and makes no excuses. This is your chance to own a sunroof delete, like-new example of the iconic 3.6 Turbo.

How many sunroof delete 3.6 turbos could exist? Very special.
The word is that Seinfeld just purchased a slate gray 3.6 turbo with ridiculously low miles for close to $500k. I Imagine this no sunroof example should do high 300- $400k. ?? Interesting to see
Bid in the amount of $222,000
This is a beautiful example..Never realized how a sunroof delete played such a major role in these cars. Good thing I did my research

The ultimate iteration of the 964. Looks like a fantastic example, gtwa
@hennabav photos of paint readings were just added to the listing by PCARMARKET. The very left side of the cowl reads slightly higher than the right side indicating it was touched in a small area at some point (not my ownership). All body panels are consistent with factory original paint.
okay, im impressed. extremely rare and that yellow is just so much fun. glad to see its a sunroof delete too makes it way more sinister. good luck.
