Specially equipped with safety features and lighting to be sold in the United States and Canada, the Land Rover Defender NAS (North American Specification) series was offered as the sole utility Land Rover model in North America from 1992 until 1997 and featured gasoline-powered V8 engines. This 1994 example is a Defender 90 NAS finished in Coniston Green over a black interior and equipped with a 5-speed manual transmission sending power to all four wheels through a dual-range transfer case. It has been modified with a Safety Devices roof rack and ladder along with an ARB front bumper and is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Georgia while showing approximately 104k miles on the odometer.
This two-door Defender 90 is finished in its factory color of Coniston Green with black fender flares and side steps, a black soft top, a front brush guard, a tubular rear bumper with an integrated receiver hitch, an aftermarket ARB front bumper, and an aftermarket Safety Devices roof rack and ladder. The truck rides on factory silver-finished 16” five-spoke wheels mounted with BF Goodrich Radial Mud-Terrain T/A tires. A matching spare wheel and tire are mounted on a rear swing-out carrier. The seller describes the paint to be in very good overall condition with no major scratches or dents. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.
The cabin is appointed with black vinyl front bucket seats and four inward-facing rear jump seats with charcoal cloth Exmoor Trim covers. Accessories include black rubber floor liners, a two-spoke steering wheel, air conditioning, a quartz clock, sliding front windows, a locking center console storage compartment, cup holders, a Kenwood stereo, a fire extinguisher, and a rear luggage net. The seller reports all gauges are fully functional.
A gasoline-powered 3.9-liter V8 engine delivers up to 182 HP and 232 lb.-ft of torque to all four wheels by way of a 5-speed manual transmission and a dual-range transfer case. The seller notes the truck has been maintained with routine fluid changes and an A/C system service.
This sale will include owner’s manuals, some documentation, and a clean title.
The seller would like you to know: “A quality ‘94 Truck with no rust and a clean and quality motor and transmission. It has a super rare and hard-to-find Safety Devices Roof Rack.”

@seller, does it have a full soft, or just the surrey top shown in the pics?
@seller -
Do you have pictures of the footwell metal (rubber mats removed)?
Pictures of the backside of the rear crossmember?
Video of it driving/shifting?
Are you a dealer?
Bid in the amount of $32,000
Gotcha, do you happen to know the overall height with the basket removed?
@Aquaboy2u cool thing about this rack you can just remove the basket. Get the latter and crossbars installed to squeeze in a garage. Install when you need it.
How hard is it to remove the roof rack and will it leave holes? Won’t fit in the garage with that thing on it.

@GrandNatty so cool man! This is most beyond likely your truck. Came from Cali. Truck just as awesome now as it was than. I own a shop here in ATL and we specialize in these defenders. Few people have the chance to find there one that got away!! Hope it goes back home to you.
I THINK I owned this truck from new to the sale in 1996. It was bone stock then. But I can't recall what number mine was. But how many of the 1994s in green were sold in 1996 in West Hollywood? If it's mine, they were so rare then that valet parkers used to give me prime spots out front of WEHO clubs over $100K+ cars.
@garagisti rack is currently installed.
@Urbanmotorworks Appreciate the clarification with the rack photos - I'll admit I hadn't seen those. Is the rack currently installed?
@GrandNatty the version of top is call Surrey Top. Just the top. Saftey Devices roof rack ladder is the best option that properly mounts to the NAS roll cage properly.
@Urbanmotorworks - how does the Safety Devices roll cage differ from the OEM NAS? And what's the top situation? Side and back soft top pieces too? Don't see them.
@garagisti looking through my phone for more photos.
@garagisti no worries just a bandana on steering wheel . Style thing.
@garagisti sorry I only have two photos with the rack on it. I added the rack after I setup a profile to it. If you locate the photos with it in the yard you will see the rack and ladder we added
I apologize for the multiple posts/comments. Is the bandana on the steering wheel covering a rip/missing chunk?

Seller: Does have the head gaskets been done? Can we get photos of the front door bottoms and front footwells without the rubber mats? What are the date codes on the tires?
"It has been modified with a Safety Devices roof rack and ladder along with an ARB front bumper and is now being offered for auction ..."
This truck literally has NONE of these features. Auction description should be modified to correctly reflect that the truck has the NAS Safety Devices roll cage, but it doesn't have a rack or ladder. Furthermore, front bumper on this is standard NAS fare.
