Launched in 1989, the Ferrari 348 ushered in a new era of design for the brand and was the last V8 model developed under the direction of Enzo Ferrari. It features Pininfarina-designed bodywork and a naturally aspirated 3.4-liter quad-cam V8 mated to a gated 5-speed manual transaxle. This 1994 Ferrari 348 Spider is finished in Grigio Metallic over blue leather upholstery. It was originally sold in California and was purchased by the current owner in 2016. The car was treated to a major engine-out service in 2022 including a new timing belt, spark plugs, rebuilt cylinder heads, and more. This Ferrari moved to Florida with its current owner about 3 years ago where it is now being offered for auction with less than 36k miles showing on the odometer.
The Pininfarina-designed bodywork is characterized by straked side air intakes, louvered taillights, and a vented engine cover. This Spider is finished in Grigio Metallic with a blue convertible top. Equipment includes pop-up headlamps, fog lights, quad exhaust tips, and silver 17” five-spoke alloy wheels dressed in Falken ZIEX ZE950 tires (2016). The seller notes the front valence has been refurbished and the rear bumper cover and rocker panels have been refinished. Imperfections include a small delaminated spot on the lower passenger-side windshield and a small defect on the driver’s side convertible top. The CARFAX report shows damage to the front end from an accident in 2011, although no further information is available. The seller adds that the car has been driven approximately 3k miles under their ownership and stored beneath a cover in a humidity-controlled garage.
The cabin is appointed with blue leather upholstery and includes a black leather three-spoke steering wheel, adjustable bucket seats, power windows and door locks, air conditioning, and a dogleg-pattern gated shifter with a polished aluminum gear lever. An aftermarket Bluetooth radio has been installed along with an external microphone and a trunk-mounted amplifier. The seller notes a small defect on the dashboard that was repaired several years ago, the leather pulled away from the defroster vents in some locations, and the original sticky buttons were refinished.
Up to 312 HP and 229 lb.-ft of torque comes from a 3.4-liter quad-cam Tipo 119 V8 engine. The rear wheels are driven through a 5-speed manual transaxle and a limited-slip differential. An engine-out service was performed under current ownership including a new timing belt and Hill Engineering pulley, spark plugs, coolant hoses, various seals and gaskets, and rebuilt cylinder heads by T.G.’s Performance Engine Shop of Gardena, California, with new valves, seats, guides, and lash/timing adjustments. Additional work completed between 2021 and 2022 an A/C system recharge, a coolant flush, a new battery, and replacing the driver-side CV axle boots. The water pump was also rebuilt during an engine-out service under previous ownership in 2013. The seller adds that the O2 sensors and exhaust TCUs were replaced within the last 4 months and the most recent oil change was performed in August 2024.
This sale will include owner’s manuals, a car cover, some spare parts, original parts that were replaced during service, and a clean title.
The seller would like you to know: “Thank you for visiting my auction. I have owned the car since 2016 and have added approximately 3,000 miles to it. The car was originally delivered to California and has remained in California until May 2022 at which time I relocated to northern Florida. The car is garage-kept with a cover on a battery tender. The garage is humidity-controlled. The car is identified as being in an accident in 2011 in Orange California, unfortunately, I have no details and have not been able to obtain any information from the previous owner, Carfax, or the City of Orange Police Department. Photo documentation of some paint work including the front bumper is included, I suspect damage - a significant crack - in the front bumper may have occurred during the reported accident. No other identifiable damage is present. The car runs and drives extremely well, handling is superb, the engine runs strong, gear shifting is smooth.”

I don’t have any records of the clutch being replaced, it works well, no issues up or down shifting.
The receipt from Ricambi America includes all the engine out replacement parts. Hill Engineering bearing, belts hoses gaskets etc.
I may have missed it, are there receipts/records for the ‘22 major service? How many miles on the clutch?
Bid in the amount of $38,000
The top is fully manual, only takes a couple minutes to open or close.
Is the top manual or power? If power do you have a video of it operating? Thank you.
I've uploaded 2 short videos of the Drivers Window and Power Door Lock operation. With a few hours left in the bidding I will be available to answer any questions or add clarity to information posted. It's an absolutely fantastic car.

@michaelp1usa. Everything works, I did have a video of the drivers window and power door locks but just have accidentally deleted them. Stickies were cleaned and plastic was painted. I had them sprayed using a “hot rod Matt black” by the same painter that refinished the bumper valance and lower panels as shown in the photos. Only thing missing is the white open/close circles on the vents. As shown in the photos the paint and buttons match extremely well. There is an amplifier in the Frunk but it is not wired to the stereo, it never has been under my ownership. I really don’t listen to anything but the engine note so I never took the time to wire it to the stereo.
Everything works properly?
The drivers side window winds up and down similar to the passenger side?
No sticky at all?
Oh boy, I see the Pic now. So unfortunate.
@jbauto Thanks for the comment. I’ve uploaded another photo to help respond to the question. There are 2 “followers” above the cams on either side of the engine. They are fastened through the plastic belt cover. Apparently the belt cover had some cracking and allowed the follower to drop inside the moving belt. The worst possible result occurred and it broke the belt during a low speed ride. You will also see a receipt from Ricambi America for a new cover piece which was installed during the repair.

I just sold mine a couple months ago. I did all the work on it from paint to engine out services. Car ran like a top. I'm curious as to why this engine needed Head removal and valve guides. These engines are solid. This isn't a 1996 355. What do you know about that @guzzi850?
Welcome to the auction, I am here to answer all questions and provide additional photos upon request. This Ferrari 348 has been meticulously maintained since my purchase in 2016. The rare color combination makes this 348 stand out and imo in fantastic. This example was originally delivered and has been in California until I relocated to Florida in mid-2022. The car has been garage stored with cover and while in Florida in a humidity controlled garage. The gated 5 speed shifts smoothly and pairs well to the 3.4l V8. Ferrari 348’s are the last of the analog Ferrari’s and are an absolute fantastic drive. Again I am here to support and answer questions.
